Chapter 12. Sara
Ronnie started walking back into her mother's ward reasoning about what just transpired between her and Katie and what she just agreed to do.
"What have I just conceded to do, feign to be someone else? Well, at least it's for my mum and her longings. She gets to live in a big house, I'll now have enough money to buy her drugs and all that. I just pray things don't get complicated." She thought as she walks to the ward. She was still on her planet when she bumps into a tough rock chest. She winced in pain and looks up only to be met by the fierce stare of Daniel.
She felt her face blush as she remembers his uncovered body and how damn good it looked. As if he knew what she was thinking, he smirked
"Ummmm... Sorry... Didn't see you there." She said and hurriedly walks away.
Daniel found that personality cute and overcame the urge to tease her. They were in public and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable with the rumors that would suffice if he is seen in close proximity to her. Not like he cares. He just didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
He just watched her walk out with a hint of blush that crept past her face when she saw him. He just shrugged off the giddy feeling he was getting and walked off. He had a patient to attend to anyways, he doesn't want to be tagged as a romantic doctor.

"Damon, dear, I prepared dinner for you," Sara said as she went over to hug him.
Damon's mother, wants Damon to have Sara as his bride instead of the pompous Katie but he refused, stating he has a reason for wanting to marry her. They have been bethroated to each other since they were little much to his mother's disapproval. Katie has never given her the respect she deserves and that created the old woman's dislike for Katie. She prefers Sara to Katie because unlike Katie, Sara was a good girl (explained by his mother. He fits her standard of a good girl).
From time to time, Sara would come to the house to give his mother some gifts she brought from the mall and these small gestures made her like Sara.
Unlike his mother, Damon seems to like her as a sister and not the way she wants.
She hugs him and Damon broke the hug. "What would you like to eat"
"Nothing."
"Why?"
"Because I'm not hungry."
"But you've been at work since morning."
"Yes"
"Then you need a relaxing dinner. And maybe a cold shower" she said seductively.
"Sara?"
"Yes."
"Where's my mother."
"In her room of course."
"When did she come to my house."
"This morning."
"So in other words, you've been here since morning?"
"Yes,"
"It's late already," He said, staring at his watch.
"Yeah, I know right." She said, hoping he'd tell her to spend the night over there.
"I'll tell the driver to drop you off, I don't want you going home too late."
Sara looked at him and sighed. Why can't he just try and look her way just for once? She'd dolled up for him, and wore the sexiest of her clothes for him and this is what she's getting. Getting sent home before she can even show off her curves. She pouted her lips and made one last try. "Why can I just spend the night with you then?"
"Don't push your luck dear. You might cease to come over here."
"Oh"
"How did you even know my password to the door?"He inquired.
"Mum told me, believe me, I didn't ask her for it."
"I never asked if you asked her or not."
"I know, I just didn't want you to get mad at her"
"Goodnight. Make sure you call me once you get to your place safely." He said and started up the stairs.
Sara stood stiff and watched him go up to his room. She decided to make one final trial.
She went into the kitchen and brewed a cup of warm coffee.
"Maam, the driver is set to go," Alan said to her.
"Ok, just a second." She said and then strode towards his room.
She gently knocked on his door. She didn't hear a response so she enters. She saw him sitting on the couch and went to him.
"I made coffee for you." She said and smiled.
"I thought I told you to go home." He asked.
"I'll go. Besides, the driver is already waiting for me."
"Sara." He called
"Yes" she answered
"Who in the world drinks coffee by this time? It's already 8 o'clock" he said sternly.
Sara felt like slapping her face for not thinking of it before bringing it to him.
"I'm sorry, must have slipped my mind."
"And you want to get married?" He shook his head. "Such a lucky man" he added sarcastically.
"I'm sorry." She said and bit her lips, hoping it would gain her some attention as men were weak to women biting their lips.
"Please can you leave now, and stop buying your lips. You look like an eejit."
Sara smiled defeated and started going out.
"Good night," He said.
"You too." She said slightly embarrassed that he called her an eejit.
"I think you should practice more on how to seduce a man." He said disgustedly.
Sara resisted the urge to cry and left the room.
She quickened her pace and went toward the front door. "Where's the driver?" She asked Alan, who was on his phone.
"Just go out, you'd see him." He said nonchalantly.
"Just as rude as his boss." She muttered to herself and left with tears threatening to fall out or blur her vision.

Katie and her mum is sitting at the dinner table, munching on some night snack when Mrs. Philips spoke.
"So you think she's gonna want to do it dear?" Mrs. Philips asked.
"Yes mum, I don't think, I know. I already gave her part of the payments. " Katie replied, all confident.
"Well, I just wish nothing goes wrong." She said and sighed.
"Mum, I think you're just being paranoid. Nothing is gonna happen. She stays with Damon, she gets married to him in the pretense of being me, I go out of the country to make it big in modeling, comes back and take my place. It's that simple." She explained proudly.
"I know it's how you picture it. I just pray everything goes as planned without a hitch." She said and sighed.
