The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 225

Blair POV

The back of my head was throbbing painfully as I woke, my hand automatically reaching up to touch it, only to come away with blood on my fingers. I winced, realizing that my hands were restrained with silver cuffs, preventing me from shifting. It was dark, the floor hard and uneven, poking into my skin and bruising it as I shifted into a sitting position, my ankles also restrained. I tried to reach my wolf, but Dusk remained unresponsive to all my attempts to frantically communicate with her. I licked my dry lips, trying to remember what had happened, but all I did remember was the feel of something hard hitting me on the back of my head and then nothing...Where on earth was I? I didn't recognize this place and it was unfamiliar to me. "You're finally awake," a voice said from the shadows as I blinked, my eyes still trying to adjust.

I knew that voice. I knew it well. She stepped into the dim lighting, exposing herself to me and I scowled. Of course, the new maid. The disguised one. Her hair was now black or a dark brown and she grinned at me, fluttering her eyes and slowly reaching up to pull one, and then another contact out of her eyes, revealing the true blue color of them. "Brynn" I rasped, glaring at her "who else would it be."

She gave a laugh "You don't look so well Blair" she said mockingly as she came forward and sat back on her haunches studying me carefully "In fact, you look quite weak" she said with a sneer.

"So weak that you had to restrain me with silver so that I didn't beat your a*s" I shot back angrily.

She raised a brow and then stood up abruptly, kicking me hard in the legs. I grunted from the sharp pain that shot through my leg. "Next time it will be the stomach," she said sweetly as I cursed at her. "Where are we?" I snarled.

She gave me a cat-like grin "Neutral territory" she said with satisfaction, making my spirits sink "In a cave. Alpha Nikolai, Braedon's father" she said with a twist of her lips "was kind enough to show me this on the way through. I was smart enough to borrow some things and stash them here on the way. I knew I would be needing them, eventually. Just sooner rather than later" she sighed.

"Brynn you know that you're not getting out of here alive," I told her, narrowing my eyes "Your mother is dead. Why would you risk everything to come back here? Is revenge that important to you?" I asked in disbelief.

"Why dear sister" she drawled as my jaw dropped open "I can call you that, can't I?" she continued ruthlessly "seeing as we are sisters. Naturally, I want revenge. You should have been killed at birth, but our father was weak, causing our mother no end of pain. You're an embarrassment to our lineage. I have always been the stronger sister, the prettier one, the one to take over the pack. Everything that's happened to me, is because of you" she said, scowling and pacing back and forth as she glowered at me. "You knew" I breathed, staring at her, the color draining from my face "You knew we were sisters and you still acted hateful towards me. How could you treat your own sister that way? Why Brynn?"

She waved a dismissive hand at me "I've known since we were thirteen" she said lightly "Mother could never keep secrets from me and well, I became suspicious of father's kind-heartedness towards you. I put the dots together. It's not my fault you were too stupid too. Why do you think I acted so horribly towards you? Why I took every opportunity to hurt you? I wanted you to leave. I wanted you to die" she hissed venomously "I wanted you out of my life and away from me and you just wouldn't leave" she snarled "I was the one everybody in the pack loved and adored, not you."

"How is this going to help you now Brynn?" I demanded, watching a chilling expression come over her face "Because it's not. If you kill me, my mate will not rest until he hunts you down and kills you. You're not just killing your sister, you're killing a Luna Queen. Do you think he'll take it easy on you? The punishment isn't just a death sentence. You'll be tortured, far worse than anything you've ever encountered before" I warned her, my voice dripping with malice.

It didn't scare her. It didn't even faze her. It was like I had made an empty threat or she just didn't believe me.

She gave a bitter laugh "You have no idea what I've already had to endure because of you. What Alpha Nikolai did to me, that was t*****e" she said, exhaling "and if I die then so be it, but I'm going to make sure that I hurt you where it's going to hurt you the most" she said slowly, staring down at me with narrowed eyes "I'm going to take from you, the most precious thing of all, that which will forever haunt you the rest of your days and never give you any peace."

"Oh yeah," I growled, feeling doubts creeping in "What would that be Brynn? You've always been all talk and no action. You don't scare me" I snarled, getting onto my knees and glaring defiantly at her, my hands in front of me as she eyed me with a small curve of her lips "My mate is already looking for me and just because I can't shift, doesn't mean I can't fight." She always underestimated me. No matter what, I wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of thinking she had me beat. "Yeah, well I'm guessing the wolfsbane and the sedative that I put in your system is taking effect right about now" Her grin was vicious as I blinked at her "And it's difficult to fight with your ankles restrained, isn't it?" she mocked.
