The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 221

Third Person POV

****t. Moron. Those were some of the words echoing inside of Brynn's mind as she went about her mindless duties inside of the pack house. She was still in a state of disbelief. Alpha Nikolai and her were meant to have a plan, but he'd digressed, too intent on wanting his revenge to wait patiently. Especially being this close to his son, the man who had beaten him down the first time and caused him to lose his precious Alpha King title. He'd been arrogant, thought Brynn with a wry shake of her head, believing he was invincible and overestimating his ability to fight, and in the end, it had brought him to his knees in defeat. She still couldn't believe it. He was gone. Dead. No longer a threat to her or any other poor woman who was forced to endure his brutish and horrendous ways. The stupid fool had challenged Braedon to the death and even though he'd tried to cheat, as was the bastard's usual method of winning, Blair had managed to end his life with a carefully placed throw of a dagger right into the old man's chest. She smirked. For once, she owed Blair her gratitude and her thanks. She had done Blair a favor in ridding her of Alpha Nikolai. Brynn was not about to grieve the old miser being gone. She was relieved at the thought of no longer having to submit to his demands or his roaming hands that pinched and bruised her flesh all over. She would no longer have to endure humiliation and degradation at his hands or be forced to have s*x with him as a means of punishment or teaching her a lesson. Be forced to submit to him as he called her all manner of disgusting names. Those days were long gone now. She could have cried with joy. But she still needed to tread lightly. She had come with Alpha Nikolai to the pack and that instantly made her suspicious. She might have to step her plan up, thanks to that bastard. Even dead, he caused her problems.

Her mother was dead. She was not surprised in the slightest. Luna Bianca would not have been granted mercy for her crimes and Brynn had instinctively known, when she kicked her out of that car, that her mother would be killed. But that was why she was here. To get revenge on the little b***h that had caused Brynn so much pain and agony in her life. Everything that had happened to her and her family, was because of Blair. Blair was to blame. If Blair had never been born, then Brynn's life would have been much easier. She would not rest easier until Blair paid for everything she had done to Brynn and her family.

She caught sight of her father and ducked her head, letting the loose strands cover her eyes as she walked past him. He didn't even notice her or recognize his own daughter. Brynn fumed about this as she walked outside. Her own father didn't recognize her or who she was. The disguise worked well but it stung to know her own family didn't know who she was. She held onto the bucket of soapy water, dipping the sponge into it and beginning to wipe the windows down with a furious hand. She wanted to make her move, but it was too crowded around the pack house and she'd never make it out before she was caught. She needed to wait for the perfect opportunity to get Blair alone. Somewhere quiet. Somewhere she would be least expecting to run into Brynn. She sighed. Behind her, some other omegas began to wash the windows nearby, causing Brynn to scowl in annoyance. They were in close proximity to her, making Brynn feel self-conscious and aware that she had to play the part of a pathetic maid for their benefit. She scowled to herself. "The King is really angry at the Luna Queen" one commented, sounding nasally and annoying.

"He's just concerned about her," the other omega said with a guilty glance around "You shouldn't gossip so much. What happens if somebody catches you?" she whispered in admonishment.

Brynn rolled her eyes. She wouldn't call this gossip. It was about as interesting as a fly on the wall.

"Well I heard that the Luna Queen is having twins" the first omega continued "And I know for a fact she has that appointment tomorrow" she added sniffing and raising her nose in the air, while the other omega looked confused.

Brynn began to listen more intently, curious now in spite of herself. Maybe she was about to get her wish after all. These omegas had no knowledge they were giving Brynn vital information that she might be able to use against Blair or for her revenge plans. Stupid, naive, omegas. "What appointment? I haven't heard anything about it" the second omega protested, sounding half irritable, half scandalized "How come you know about it and I don't?"

"I happen to have overheard Sierra and Josie talking about it in the kitchen earlier and eavesdropped," the first omega said smugly, smiling cattily at her friend "They didn't even notice I was listening."

"Lucky," the second omega said shaking her head "because if Sierra had caught you..." she trailed off, the implication clear to her friend who shuddered and visibly nodded.

"I know" she exhaled, flipping her hair over her shoulder "Sierra would have skinned me alive."

She glanced around and Brynn hastily ducked down and wet her sponge, getting it soapy and wiping the window slowly. The other woman deemed her unimportant, dismissing Brynn's presence completely. This suited Brynn just fine. "So what is this important appointment?" the other omega hissed, eagerness in her voice.

"Well, it's probably not that exciting. They already know the gender, but I heard that because she's had so many scares lately, Blair's having to have another ultrasound and they might discuss the possibility of inducing labor or having a c-section" the first omega said reluctantly. Even Brynn knew it wasn't often that shifter women had caesarians and she raised an eyebrow in surprise. Blair must be worried about her pups and her body must be having trouble with the strain of twins. Sometimes that happened but it was very rare. For her to have had a few scares already, meant that Blair had to be extra cautious and take extra care. It was perfect, thought Brynn marveling at the luck of being in this exact place at this exact time. These omegas had just given her the opportunity she had been looking for. The best thing was, the women had no idea what they had just done, with their reckless gossiping.
