Chapter 32
The most disgusting loud laughter filled the dining room and Daniel sauntered over to his older brother. Zion looked like hell. All he was focused on was her and their conversation replaying over and over in his head.
"Well if the mighty have not fallen" Daniel said mockingly.
Zion knew this was coming.
"I never in a million years would have thought on our grandmother, moon goddess bless her resting soul that you would be moping after a woman. Mind you this is fair game because I have had my fair share of ups and downs with Lisa and you have more than enjoyed my suffering."
"I'm not suffering" Zion coolly let out, his eyes fixated on Anastasia across the room.
"Then why do you look like a dog who has lost its bone."
Samuel starts to laugh and Zion sharply looks over at him.
"Why are you laughing?"
Samuel quickly straightened up with a faint smile on his face trying not to get on his bad side. Daniel pulls out a chair to sit beside Zion sliding his food over.
Zion had been staring at Anastasia the entire afternoon and evening. It's been days but it felt like months. He was trying his best not to look desperate but at this point it was fucking getting to him.
She had evaded and ignored him and he hated it. Yes he had ignored her too before. But this was completely different because it was happening to him. Visit Jo b nib-.com to read the complete chapters for free. Damn he sounded selfish. She wouldn't talk to him, look at him or even acknowledge his presence and to top it off she made herself scarce. He went to his room a few times and she wouldn't answer. He felt like he was going crazy. He missed the way her eyes would light up when she saw him, how she would spot him in a room no matter where he was, her smile, her smell...
"If you cry I'm disowning you" Daniel dug into the large plate of food before him.
"Doesn't your wife feed you?" Zion gritted out hoping he would go away.
"Yes but she understands that I cannot miss this rare top quality entertainment. I never thought this day would ever come. I have to make what I can of it." he stated passionately.
Zion started seriously contemplating needing only one brother again while staring at the dark head attacking the plate of food beside him. Samuel leaned in to put in.
"You should see when she passes him and ignores him but acknowledges me. He looks like he's having a stroke."
Daniel noisily almost chokes on the food hitting his chest and a few people stare over across at him but not her. He just needed her to look at him once. Even his wolf was howling sad. He hated it.
"It really sucks when it's the other way around isn't it? And she is remarkably smart." Daniel adds with his mouth full, wiping his fingers on a napkin.
"Here he goes" Zion mumbles but this doesn't deter his brother.
"You see when you ignored her you were never nice to her from the get go or gave her much attention. However how this is different is that she has always been nice, giving you attention. You know those little smiles, her always seeking you out, running her hand through your hair. All the possibilities. Your wolf though you wouldn't admit it got used to all those things and now that she's taken it away you actually have something to miss. She's smart and I really like her."
Zion for the first since the conversation started turned to look at Daniel with his cold green eyes and Daniel rolled his eyes easing back a bit.
"Relax I'm mated but I'm not blind or dead. If I wasn't and I heard she was available though I would breathe through a straw for a chance."
" 'He does have a point" Samuel backed up Daniel.
"I thought you didn't like her or anyone much for that matter." Zion snapped.
"I think she's wearing me down." Samuel replied with a frown.
Though they were his brothers he could feel himself being extremely over possessive and riled up. He tried not to think about it.
They both laughed at his predicament.
"Do you want me to talk to her?" Samuel asked.
"No"
"And you know what's even more tragic there's no way you can use the wheelchair to gain sympathy points. You could roll over there and scramble and she's probably going to still ignore your ass. You're actually going to have to get creative." "That's going to be a bitch" Samuel laughed.
He zoned them out for a while.
Anastasia
He mind linked her but she didn't respond or even give any indication that she had heard him.
“Are you going to reject her?" Daniel drummed the table and asked him. He was almost finished with his food and ready for another plate.. Zion didn't answer.
"Well you better make up your mind because your clock's ticking."
"Shut up"
"Every time you close your eyes at night your probably going to be wondering if she found someone else slightly interesting"
The stable started to shake from them both laughing and he released his aura. They started to shift uncomfortably in their chairs.
"If I hear one more word about her so help me heaven and hell" he said menacingly.
"Okay. Okay we'll stop" Daniel ceded.
"I didn't even do anything". Samuel rubbed his neck.
Anastasia got up and left the room and Zion's eyes followed her desperately through the door. Where the hell is she going? This sucked ass.
A few minutes later a tall brown haired man walked in smiling. Alpha Kendrick wasn't new to them. He had a small pack almost in the next county that wasn't getting along badly. They just needed some work. Their family were kind people and because of this his grandfather every Christmas would invite the Creekwood pack to attend their Christmas party in the grand hall. It added to the fun to have a few visitors and fresh faces.
"Alpha Zion, Beta Daniel, Delta Samuel." he breathed out to them.
"
'Alpha Kendrick it's been a while." Zion responded but his mind was barely there.
Kendrick glanced behind him like he had somewhere urgent to be.
"Yeah it has been. Before I get into why I'm here. That's the first I've ever met a Lycan." He shook his head in disbelief and pointed in the direction of the door." They really live up to the hype. She is drop dead beautiful and that body. I'd crawl on broken glass for a date with her." he drawled.
Daniel looked at Samuel worriedly.
"She refused and said she was already mated to some slow and unreasonable idiot. A damn fool if you ask me but all the better for us. Do you by any chance know who it is?"
Zion's face was stone cold and his eyes flashed. His claws had elongated and everyone in the room could feel his anger.
Alpha Kendrick you have five seconds to get off of our land and if you don't make it out in those five seconds then your beta can come for whatever entrails is left."
Kendrick went white fear as it dawned on him who's mate it was. Kendrick felt fear grapple him and backed up. He didn't question it and took off sprinting to his vehicle.
The moment he exited through the door the brothers started laughing and Zion angrily left his barely untouched food to breathe some air because for just that alone he wanted to eradicate the entire Creekwood pack.
