The Princess’s Broken Alpha

Chapter 31

Indigo could hear sounds up above though she couldn't understand where exactly she was. No matter how she shifted the cold water from the pipes still dripped into her hair running down to soak into her clothes. She had no idea where she was, where that damn lycan dragged her to. Her lungs were on fire and she continued to fight to breathe. In the darkness she could see a faint light approaching, illuminating the nightmare she had found herself in for the past couple of weeks. It is around the time he always visits. As the light got brighter she scooted closer to the large bucket beside her. Her surroundings were inhumane, the hole she was in was dusty with a table at the far end being the only thing in the room a part from the bucket.

Her arms were chained to the metal pipe and beyond sore. She would have deep scars on her wrists when this was all over. Not to mention she felt so tired every day. It was hell. The light got brighter and even through her blurry vision she could see that it was him. "We have a busy day today." his cold toneless voice washed over her as he entered the room.

She should have ran the moment he came through the door asking for a spell to chain the princess but she was stupid and played too much with the blonde haired man that didn't seem to mean no harm and now she was suffering day by day. Why had she been so stupid? Why had she been so reckless?

Indigo wanted to kick herself. She hated being so helpless. She looked away from him disdainfully.

"Every time I come here I'm amazed. I still can't believe it worked. I always heard that sage weakens a witch but I never thought it true. " he paused "Well, the ones that aren't that powerful to have much power left that is."

The insult. She wanted to scream at him that it wasn't true but she was so tired. If she wasn't so powerful then what was he doing with her. It said more about him needing a weak witch to win but she didn't have the energy.

She was powerful she just didn't create a protection spell for it because she was lazy and her ego had gotten too big to think anyone would try that with her. She had gotten so complacent and carefree but when she got out never again. Never again.

The silver chains burned her harshly as she tried to shift against the dirty floor, her body aching terribly from the hard floor and cold. Her wolf was weak and frustrated, it was incredibly painful being in the chains.

Castor sat on the table and crossed and folded his arms, his biceps bulging and stared at her.

"You don't look so good Indigo. You're even fading in and out of consciousness. I miss when we had just met and you were so full of life." Castor eased off of the table and walked over to the witch. He looked at her concerned.

"I don't like seeing you this way. Here's what I'll do. I feel you were lying about not being able to locate the princess. If you do your little thing and tell me where she is then I will let you go eventually."

"You're lying." she wheezed out.

"I'm not lying. I really need to find her especially now that everybody knows she refused me. I'm practically a laughing stock so I have no reason to lie."

He took out things from a paper bag. He had forced her to make that chaining spell against her wishes and now all he had to do was locate her. She felt the bottle at her lips and faintly made out it was water and drank greedily after which he fed her a sandwich. How many days had she not eaten? She had lost count.

She felt much better and her vision wasn't so blurry anymore. Her stomach hurt painfully from not eating regularly. Indigo didn't care if it had poison or not she just wanted to survive. That had always been her motto in life and if he truly was going to let her go whether it was a lie or not she had to take it and keep trying to find a way to get out of his reach.

"Okay. You need something of hers and a map." she whispered, fighting between not breathing in the burning sage tearing at her lungs and the need to breathe in air. "You also have to put out the sage so I can access my powers." she meekly agreed.

"

So you did lie to me little witch." Castor said wryly pacing before her and she tried to focus on his impeccable leather shoes. "So the necklace will work?"

Indigo slowly nodded.

"Yes. She did make it so it will work."

"Never trust a witch" he smirked at her. "I'll be back."

She felt a terrible pity in her stomach for having to do this but he already had the chaining spell. He would carry it out whether she was dead or alive and it was better she was alive. Though if she escaped she would have to find some deep dark corner of the Earth where she prayed King Reviere couldn't reach her if this all went wrong. A shudder spread through her. She was more afraid of the king than the situation she was in right now with this greedy man.

It was nightfall before he returned and she could tell by how dark the room felt. He put out two of the burning containers with sage leaving the other two to burn. She grimaced at the fact that he wasn't so stupid after all. She wouldn't be able to access all her power and she was still weak from all that she had inhaled. She was still relieved that she could breathe better and the pain in her lungs had lessen.

He released her arm from only one of the shackles that was designed with a bronze holding part specifically to capture werewolves by other wolves.

Castor watched over her cautiously in case she tried anything. Placing the map before her he handed her the necklace.

"The location." he nudged her.

She fumbled weakly and placed the necklace over the map. Indigo's eyes turned pure white as she chanted. "Asaii dulum Asaii dulum Asaii dulum!"

The light flickered and their was a great pull. The necklace stuck to the map on Crystal Harbour. Castor's eyes widened. Crystal Harbour was notorious for only one pack and that's the Cartier Pack renowned to be ran by the three brothers. Not just that but their Alpha was in a wheel chair. Well if this wasn't a surprise. They were not only the strongest but they had a deep history from the beginning of wolves. Wolves would say from the beginning of time and she was there. His mind was racing.

"Crystal Harbour" he mouthed silently in surprise and looked at the witch slumped over in exhaustion on the floor. Castor quickly went to relight the sages and lifted her up.

"I do want to deliver on my promises but I have to make sure the chaining spell works and who knows I might need you in the long run. Plus there's a hybrid war I might be able to use you to stir up into full force."

She knew he was lying when he said he would set her free.

"See how important you are. Much more use than when you were in that shack."

The damn bastard. Indigo coughed and felt herself fade out of consciousness as the leather shoes started to disappear..
