The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 50

Felicity

POV

As I walked into Ava's office, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The members of the League of Justice had been so friendly and welcoming, but there was an air of secrecy that made me uneasy. "So, Felicity, what do you think of our headquarters?" Ava asked me with a smile.

"It's amazing, beyond anything I could have ever imagined," I replied. "But why the need for secrecy? Why can't you be more transparent?"

Ava's face fell. "We have enemies, Felicity. We can't just trust anyone with our secrets."

"But I thought we were here to protect the innocent. How does keeping secrets help us achieve that?" I asked, feeling a knot form in my stomach.

Ava sighed. "It's complicated, Felicity. But just know that everything we do is for the greater good."

I wasn't sure if I should believe her or not. But there was little time to dwell on it as the door suddenly burst open and a new figure strode in.

"Whoa, hold on Ava, what's going on here?" The newcomer was a tall, muscular man with a beard.

Ava turned to him with a serious expression. "This is Felicity, our new recruit, and also our newest team member."

The man whistled. "Tough gig, working with the League of Justice. But if anyone's up for the job, it's you, Felicity."

I smiled nervously at him. "Thanks, I'll do my best."

The man looked at me with a serious expression. "Listen, Felicity, I know you've been through a lot, but now that you're with us, we won't let anything happen to you or your child."

I was taken aback by his words. "How did you know about my child?"

The man gave a small smile. "I know everything there is to know about the League of Justice and our members."

I was starting to feel like there was more to this man than met the eye, but I didn't have the energy to delve deeper into it. "Thank you, I appreciate it."

The man nodded before turning to Ava. "There's trouble at the base. We need to leave now."

Ava's face hardened. "What kind of trouble?"

"The kind that requires all of us to be there," the man replied cryptically.

I watched as they both hustled out of the door, feeling a sense of foreboding wash over me. What kind of danger could be lurking out there? And how was I supposed to protect my son from it?

As Ava and the man rushed out of the room, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach. I decided to go see my baby in the treatment room, hoping for a moment of calm amidst the chaos.

I quickly made my way to the treatment room. As I entered the room, I saw a young girl holding my baby.

"Hi, my name is Felicity. Can I take my baby now?" I asked the girl gently.

"Oh, sure. Here he is." The girl smiled and handed over my baby to me.

I took my baby and gave her a kiss on the forehead. I missed this little piece of cabbage.

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it." I smiled back at her. "What's your name?"

"My name is Molly," she replied. "You know, everyone here knows you." She said while laughing softly.

"Oh, I see. Well, thank you again for holding my baby. It means a lot to me." I smiled at her as I held onto my little one.

Molly smiled warmly at me. "No problem. He's such a cute baby."

I chuckled. "Thank you. His name is Phoenix."

"Phoenix. I like that name," Molly remarked.

"Thank you. I chose it for him because it symbolizes' strength, resilience, and new beginnings'." I explained, feeling proud of my choice.

"That's a beautiful name. I'm sure Phoenix will live up to it." Molly smiled.

"Thank you. I hope so too." I smiled back before saying goodbye and making my way back to Ava's office.

Once I was settled in Ava's office, I pulled out my b****t pump and began expressing milk for Phoenix. As I did, I began singing him a lullaby that my own mother used to sing to me when I was a baby.

As I sang, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. Holding my baby close and feeding him was the greatest gift and the greatest comfort. I knew that no matter what happened, as long as I had my little boy and I loved him, everything would be okay. Hours passed before Ava finally returned. I was sitting in her office, anxiously waiting for her to tell me what had happened.

"So, what was the mission about?" I asked, trying to keep my tone light.

"We were looking for information on certain alphas," Ava replied, her voice serious. "And also on your parents."

I felt my heart skip a beat. "My parents? Why would they be investigating my parents?"

Ava hesitated before continuing. "Felicity, there's something you need to know. That necklace you're wearing, the one I gave you in the village? It's not mine. It belonged to your mother."

I was shocked. "What do you mean? How did my mother's necklace end up with you?"

Ava sighed heavily. "Your parents didn't die in a simple car accident, Felicity. They were killed on purpose. And that necklace was the only thing they left behind for you."

I felt tears prickling at the corners of my eyes. "Who would do something like that? Why would anyone want to kill my parents?"

Ava shook her head. "I don't know, Felicity. But we're going to find out. And we're going to make sure that whoever did this pays for it."

I felt a sense of determination rising within me. I was going to find out who killed my parents, no matter what it took. And that person will pay dearly. I made this promise to myself, whoever it is, he will pay for it.
