The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

After the fight Leanna asked to leave again, there was not much of her human side left now, but the part that remained did not want Jack to see her like this anymore but she knew pretty soon that the human part of her would soon be gone, she could feel it and then it would not matter

“did that hurt your feelings?” the king asked Jack “why would it?” Jack asked

“because you have feelings for her” the king replied

“no, I had feelings for Charlie, not this monster that you have made” Jack said

“you don’t see it do you” the king laughed

“see what?” asked Jack “you humans really are stupid” the king laughed

“what?” Jack asked again “she as right, none of you can speak straight” he added

“she belonged to you” the king laughed

“what” exclaimed Jack “her heart it belonged to you Jack and only you, Leanna was the most loyal person you could have ever wanted, she would have given her life for you but she lied to you didn’t she” the king said

“yes” replied Jack

“your history books could not be more wrong Jack” the king said

“why?” Jack asked

“no one was there that night Jack, your history books are made up stories of what people think happened, she lied to protect you, you have no idea what Leanna has been through since the night she was bitten, what danger she faces daily just by getting up, she is always looking over her shoulder making sure that no one is there, why do you think she always had this sword on her?, she could not put you in danger” the king laughed

“I do not care that lying piece of trash led all the hunters to their deaths, she let them die and let you take over, she worked for you” Jack snapped

“jack you are a fool, if no one was there how do you know what is written down is what happened, do you not see they made them up” the king laughed

“what are you talking about?” Jack asked

“do you not see Jack, your history books are full of lies, Leanna did not lead anyone to their death, only she went to fight that night, her friends are what meant the most to her, her loyalty is her weakness, you don’t get that she was the best of them, Leanna would have given her life to save all of theirs, Leanna didn’t kill any hunters I did, Leanna had already gone into hiding when the hunters were killed, I made your historians write what they did” the king said laughing really hard

“What do I care? I do not care for liars and she never cared for me” Jack snapped

“then you are a fool Jack, she did what she did for you, but it matters not because she is mine now and I thank you for that” the king said

“what did I do?” Jack asked

“the wound that she had on her side, I am guessing that you did that, when my men forced her to tell you the truth” the king said

“yes, I did” replied Jack

“when you gave her that wound Jack and told her what you really thought, you betrayed her, you broke her heart and that is why I thank you, if you had not betrayed her and broke her heart, I would not have been able to do what I have” the king said

“why?” Jack asked

“in love she is the strongest person I have ever met, in love no one would be able to get through her defences and the way she fights for love is a marvel to watch, it gives her strength that is unbelievable” the king replied

Jack had no answer to what the king had just said to him, was she really in love with him, had she left him with Chloe on purpose, had she tried to make him mad with Alex just to try and cover up how she truly felt for Jack, what had he done? Yes, she had lied about who she was but did it really matter, after all she was still the person, he had met in the cabin all those months ago and now because of him, she was the monster that she never wanted to be, the animal that she had kept under control was loose because he could not control his temper

It was too late now, Jack would have to spend the rest of his life knowing that vampires ruled because of him, because he could not stop to see how his anger could destroy the one person that could have saved the world and it turned out the person that he blamed for the way the world was, was not even the right person, the next night when he entered the hall, Leanna was again at his side ready for his command

“tonight, is more punishment” Charlie said and summoned a young man forward

“you cannot do this Leanna” Jack said

“she will not answer you Jack, she is gone now, she will only talk on command” the king replied

Leanna did not answer just went and done what she had been ordered to do, Jack watched as she killed the man and whilst vampires cleaned up her mess, she went and stood behind the king, Jack looked in her eyes and they were cold and unforgiving, no sadness no happiness nothing, the king was right, she was gone

“Charlie” came a shout from outside the door, Charlie thought Jack had Leanna used his name and then it hit him, he was the one that she had loved all those years ago, he remembered her telling him that the night she was bitten they had gotten married, it was him, that is why he knew what she fought like in love because he had seen it, it now made sense the sword she carried he had given it to her

“what is it?” Charlie shouted

“we have intruders” he replied

“let them in” Charlie said and the doors came flying open, a large group of armed men entered the hall and Jack noticed that it was the men from the trees

“who are you to think that you can come into my house so heavily armed, unless you have come to surrender” Charlie shouted

“we are here to end this, we are not here to surrender, we are here to help the chosen one, I am Simon” Simon said

“you think that you can beat me” Charlie laughed

“as I said we are here to help the chosen one” Simon replied

“your chosen one does not exist” Charlie replied “Leanna can you deal with this rabble please” Charlie added and Leanna stepped forward with her eyes the purest black

“you promised you would help us” Simon said to Leanna

“she will not help you, she belongs to me” Charlie laughed

Jack did not know what to do, he could not let this happen, they stood a chance of winning against her but not when she was this monster but was there anything that he could do, Jack looked around and saw her sword leaning up against Charlie’s chair

“remember what she told you” Simon said facing Leanna but looking at Jack and then it all flooding back, everything that Ashir had told him, Ashir had told him that Leanna was in love with him, he had also told him that he would betray her, which he had done, she also warned him that blood would make her a monster and too much would make her lost forever, could he do anything about it but then he remembered that Ashir had told him to show her how much he cared, the fighting had begun and Simon and his men were doing well, Jack had to wait for the right moment to make his move so, Charlie would not see him and would not stop him

“drop your weapons or he dies” Leanna shouted, she had Simon by the throat

“do not do it, it is what we trained for” Simon said

“do it now” she shouted that was Jack’s chance, whilst the king was watching the fight, he grabbed Leanna’s sword and ran to her, putting the point into her back, Charlie’s men went to move

“no, wait I want to see what happens” he said

“Leanna, you do not need to do this, this is not who you are” Jack said to her, Leanna let go of Simon, who dashed back to his men, Jack moved and stood between her and them, he was going to try and save them, if he could

“move” Leanna shouted

“I will not” Jack said

“move, you are his and I told you once that a sword would not help you against me” Leanna said

“no, Leanna I will not move, you will not hurt your friends” Jack said and smiled because she was still in there, she had said about the sword when Jack had first found out what she was and the monster would not have known that

“move now” the king shouted “you are mine and will do as I command” he added “I will not move” Jack replied

“you cannot disobey me” the king said

“it would seem that I can, you have no power over me” Jack said

“How?” Charlie asked

“with this” Jack said and got out the amulet that they had found at her house

“what is that?” Charlie asked

“protection against your mind games” Jack replied

“it matters not, I have her” he said pointing at Leanna ”finish this” he said to her

“Leanna I will not move, you will have to kill me” Jack said

“fine” Snapped Leanna and she started to attack Jack, they exchanged a few punches but she was too strong and too fast soon he was on his knees

“Jack remember what she told you” Simon said

“Leanna, I know that you are still in there, I want you to hear me, I don’t care what your name is, I love you” Jack said and for a spit second she hesitated, it had done something “I love you” Jack said again and again she hesitated “I told you once that I would fight for you and here I am fighting for who you are not this monster that he has made you, this monster is not you” Jack said between punches “you are the strongest person that I know and you can beat this” he said “it will not work Jack” Charlie said laughing, did the fool really believe that he could bring her back by telling her how much he loved her

“Leanna if you do not have any feelings for me what so ever, take your sword and end it, I cannot live another day to see you like this” Jack said ignoring Charlie, he could see that it was having some effect because she was crying “I love you in life and I will love you in death” Jack added

“enough, end this now” Charlie shouted

Leanna took her sword from Jack and held it high ready to deliver its final blow, she turned to look at Charlie “do it” he shouted

Jack opened his eyes, if this was not going to work, he had to look at her once last time “goodbye, I love you” he said “remember that you are not alone, there are those here that will die for you and I will die for you now because I love you Leanna with everything fibre in my body” Jack said looking up at her and it had worked, he knew because her eyes were once again purple, Leanna looked down at him with sadness in her eyes for what she had done

“I am sorry for betraying Jack” she said into his head, as he couldn’t answer he nodded “are you ready?” she asked Simon in his head

“are you? “ Simon asked

“I am, Ian with you know” Leanna replied

“what do we do?” Simon asked

“I will come to attack you, when I get near split into groups and kill them all but leave him he is mine” Leanna replied and Simon nodded

The king who sat there watching Leanna stare at them was getting rather annoyed “finish this” he shouted and Leanna turned to face him

“yes” she said and turned back to fight, she had made Jack stand up and face her, she moved towards him and that is when it hit Charlie, he had missed it when she looked at him, she was no longer his, her eyes were once again purple

“impossible” Charlie shouted

“what is?” she asked turning to face him

You should have been only what I made you, the human part of you should have been gone” Charlie replied

“obviously the human part is still here” Leanna said

“you will always be mine” Charlie shouted

“I am now and have always been stronger than you Charlie, that was always your problem” Leanna said

“what was?” Charlie asked

“you always thought that you were better than anyone else, that is why you got caught and that is why you are what you are” Leanna replied

“I am better than you, I killed all the hunters” he shouted

“you missed one” Leanna smiled

“I made this world what it is and I chose to be what I am, whilst you chose to hide away” Charlie shouted

“you chose to be what you are because you are no good at being human, you may have created this world but I am now back in it and I will end it” she replied, she knew that threatening everything he had built would make him angry and it did she could tell by the look in his eyes.

“attack” he shouted and all the vampires ran forward at once and as usual he just sat there letting everyone else do the work for him, Simon and his men were dispatching many of them but he still did not live, Leanna started to make her way towards him and out of the corner of her eye she spotted Jack just ahead of her heading in the same direction, what the hell was he doing Leanna thought, he could not defeat Charlie

The quicker she tried to get to Charlie the more of them seemed to get in her way, Jack had already made it to Charlie and was doing quiet well against him but would not last long, she had almost reached them when she saw Charlie lift his sword ready to swing, she made a dash for it and just managed to out her sword between Charlie’s sword and Jack, as she took as step back she noticed the dagger in Charlie’s hand

“did you forget I fight with two blades” Charlie laughed as Jack fell to the floor

“Jack no” she said dropping down beside him

“I am glad I got to see you as you again one last time so, that I can apologise for being a dick” Jack said

“you have nothing to be sorry for Jack, I am the one that betrayed you when I did not tell you who I was” she said and pulled the vile off of her necklace

“no” Jack said

“yes” she replied

“no, that is for you, when you have killed that damn idiot” Jack said

“not anymore Jack, I will not watch you die, I will not watch any more innocent people die because of me” she said and made Jack drink the vile, at first she was not sure if it was working but she soon knew it was, the wound on his side was healing as they watched, she sat with Jack until he was fully healed and had regained his strength.
