The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

“I am going to end this Jack, everything immortal will die tonight” Leanna said

“except you” Jack said

“neither me nor any of them should walk this earth, this earth was made for you humans not for us and I have done far too many monstrous things these last few weeks, that I cannot count myself as human anymore Jack” Leanna replied “and it will be you to end my life” she added

“I will not” Jack said

“my visions Jack have all come true except the one of my death and it was you that killed me Jack” she said and walked away, she knew that Jack would not do it but she would not lie to him anymore

“you will not hurt me” Charlie said

“you cannot fight sitting down” Leanna said “this has always been between me and you, let us see who is the best once and for all, neither us will walk from this hall tonight” she added

“you won’t hurt me” Charlie said again

“why because I love you?” Leanna asked laughing

“yes” he replied

“once Charlie, there was a time that I did love you but that was a long time ago and a different life, the man I loved is gone, you may have his face but you are not him” she replied

“if you do not love me then why did you let me change you” Charlie said “you do still love me” he added

“no Charlie, I do not” Leanna said and looked back at Jack

“I see” said Charlie

“you let me do it because you thought that you had lost the human that you loved, after I showed you that vision” Charlie said “fine you will not hurt me because of him” He added and gestured to Leigh who made a move and grabbed Jack from behind, holding him by his throat

“if she kills me, I want you to turn him” Charlie said to Leigh

“Leanna. Listen to me finish this” Jack said

“i cannot watch you become like him” Charlie said

“love makes you weak, you will not fight me because you do not want to see him like me” Charlie laughed

“Leanna, finish this” Jack shouted

Leanna ran at Charlie and he jumped up from his seat, they began to fight and were exchanging blow for blow but Charlie knew that she was holding back, she was better than this

“you are holding back, I told you love made you weak” Charlie said but what he did not realise was that she was holding back to try and find a way to finish this

“you are wrong Charlie, as always, I did not see it before but I do now” Leanna said

“how do you work that out?” Charlie asked

“I have thought the same way as you for over four hundred years, that loved made you weak, if it was not for the love that Jack had shown me tonight, I would still be that thing that you made me” Leanna said swinging her sword at Charlie’s head

“you, do not deserve that sword” Charlie said

“you do not deserve much, your hatred of me has made you weak” Leanna replied

“made me weak, I am not the one who will not fight properly because of love, it was love that made you weak and turned you into what you are, if you had not have loved me then you would not be what you are” Charlie said

“I did not love you Charlie, not really, we were young and foolish, I loved the idea of what we could be and you are and always have been weak” Leanna said “Jack I am going to throw you his dagger, take your chance whilst she is distracted” she said into Jack’s head looking balk to him quickly he nodded at her to say that he understood she looked at Charlie “your hatred of me has made you weak, it has made you see things that are no there, you said I do not deserve this sword, it is a reminder to never let my guard down” she added, he had been distracted whilst she was talking and she had taken his dagger from him

“I am not weak” Charlie shouted

“this end now” she shouted and threw the dagger to Jack, as he watched to dagger fly to Jack, he did not see Leanna move and her sword Pierced his heart, she watched him fall to the floor. It was finally over “I told you long ago that I was better then you, I hope you finally rest in peace” she said to Charlie and she dropped to her knees

Leanna knew that she had trained Simon and his men well enough to deal with all the vampires that were left, her job had only ever been to deal with Charlie and that was done, it was now time to leave this world and she knew Jack would not do it, she would let Charlie’s men do it because he knew they would want revenge for what she had done, she could see his men coming at her so put her sword down and closed her eyes, she waited for death to finally come to her

“Leanna, Jack needs you” Simon shouted

Leanna opened her eyes and without hesitation she picked up her sword, just in time before the vampires got to her, Leanna removed their heads so quick that she was not even standing properly when their heads hit the floor, as she turned she saw Jack fall to the floor, he was holding his neck, by the time she got to him Ashir was sitting at his side

“I was not quick enough” Jack said moving his hand and showing Leanna that he had been bitten

“I should have let him go” Leanna said

“no, Leanna you should not, you have tried your hardest to save all of us, this is my fault for being too slow” Jack replied

“I have not tried my hardest Jack these last few weeks I have done some terrible things, I let him change me to that thing because I thought that I had lost everything, I thought that I had lost you Jack, I saw you with another woman” she said

“Enough, nobody ever expected that you would save everyone, I made it further than I ever expected and that is because of you, I love you and have done for a while and if he showed you me with someone else then it was a trick, i have not been near anyone, I wold not do that to you” Jack replied looking at her

“save him” Leanna said looking at Ashir

“I cannot, I do not have anything for a vampire bite” Ashir said

“but you must” Leanna said

“I cannot” Ashir said again

“Leanna, you must end this I will not be like them” Jack said

“I cannot watch you die Jack” Leanna said

“you will not kill me but expected me to kill you” Jack replied

“yes Jack” she replied

“please” Jack said

“no” Leanna snapped

“fine” Jack snapped back at her “Simon will you” he added

“Of course, my friend” said Simon

“if you touch him, you will die” Leanna said looking up at Simon

“Leanna, enough, I am going to change, I will not be like them and you will not end it so, Simon will, there is nothing that can be done Ashir has said so” Jack said

“I said that I could not save you” Ashit said

“what do you mean?” asked Jack

“she can” Ashir said pointing at Leanna

“the vile is gone” Leanna said

“Leanna, what is she talking about?” Jack asked

“I don’t know” Leanna replied

“you do know how you can save him” Ashir said

“nobody wants anyone else like me” Leanna said

“will you let me decide what is right for me, you may be older than mean but that does not mean than that you have the right to tell me what to do” Jack said

“fine, tell him” Leanna said and stood up, she turned the other way so that she was not looking at them

“there is no guarantee that it will work” Ashir said

“what?” asked Jack

“in theory if Leanna was to bite you and let you drink her blood because of what she is there is a small chance that you would become like her” Ashirsaid

“do it” Jack said

“no” Leanna said turning back to him “you see what I become when I drink blood and I told you earlier that everything immortal will die tonight” she added

“not even to save the man you love” Jack said

“no Jack, I will not do it, not even to save the man I love” she replied

“so, you do love me then” Jack said

“yes Jack, I do but I cannot do it” she replied

“will you listen to me, I have brought you back from that place once already and I can do it again, I would live like you, we could travel and kill them together, you would never have to be alone again” Jack said

“you want to live for ever?” Leanna asked

“if it is with you, then yes” replied Jack

“if you are going to do this, it needs to be soon, the change is already starting” Ashir said

“Jack if I do this you will spent eternity alone, I will not leave this place tonight, I have done far too many terrible things to keep going, if I do this do not bring me back, let Simon end this” she said

“are you sure?” Simon asked

“I am sure, I have been in this world for far too long and I am tired of it” Leanna replied

“then it will be done” Simon said

“I will not let you go” Jack said

“this is not your choice, it is mine and you will leave me, if you love me you will do as I ask Jack” Leanna said

“Leanna, do it” Jack shouted he could feel himself starting to change

“fine” snapped Leanna and bit into Jack’s neck, she managed to stay her long enough to bite her wrist and let Jack drink her blood and then her eyes went black and she was gone, she could feel the urge for more blood beginning to take over her body, she watched Jack for a moment but he didn’t move in fact he stopped breathing, although she was the monster again it hurt having to watch Jack die, she screamed in pain

Leanna turned to the vampies that remained in the room and began to slaughter all of them, draining themm of any blood that they had, once they had gone she turned to Simon, still her enough to want death, he was meant to end it, she attacked but they could do nothing against her, she fled from the hall, she knew where to go and who would end this for her, just as the door closed behind her Jack stood up

“Leannai love you” he shouted but he thought that she was too far away and that she did not hear him, Simon and his men gained their composure and turned to face Jack, they hhad there weapons pointed at him

“Jack” Simon said

“what?” snapped Jack

“how do you feel?” Simon asked

“if you want to know if I want to drink your blood, then the answer is no” Jack replied

“Ashir, what do you think?” Simon asked facing Ashir

“I do believe that he is the same ad Leanna” Ashir replied

“good” said Simon and they all lowered their weapons

“Jack, listen to me you have to find her” Ashir said looking at Jack

“I will” replied Jack

“no, Jack, you don’t understand, you have to find her quickly before it is too late” Ashir said

“why i can bring her back?” Jack said

“maybe not, if you do not hurry” Ashir said

“why” Jack asked

“Charlie was limiting her blood Jack, that was how you was able to bring her back, this time there is no limit, she is not being controlled, I told you when I first met you that blood would make her different do you remember?” Ashirasked

“I do” said Jack

“do you remember what else I told you?” Ashir asked

“that love would win out” Jack said “and it did” he added

“no, not that Jack, I told you that if Leanna had too much blood you will lose her and only the monster will remain, then nothing can bring her back from that, Jack she is not limited now, she can kill what she wants and drink and much as she wants, the more she had the more she will want it” Ashirreplied

“what happens then?” Jack asked

“there will only be one choice then” Ashir replied

“which is what?” Jack asked

“to kill her before she kills you and every other living thing in this world”Ashir replied

“it will not come to that I will find her first” Jack said

“Simon will go with you” Ashir said

“I know where she will go, if I need you, I will come and get you” Jack said

“where?” Simon asked

“to the only other person that can stop her and do what she wants” Jack replied

“why?” Simon asked

“because neither of us will do what she wants and she knows that Chloe will if she goes to her” Jack replied

“Chloe?” asked Simon

“yes, a young girl that lives in the caves, in the mountains near yours” Jack replied

“I never knew anyone lived in those caves, we have passed them any times” Simon said

“Jack, you do not have time, you need to go now” Ashis said

Jack picked up his sword and ran from the hall.
