The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

By the time the sun had set there was no sign of Peter and Leanna was growing ever more impatient, she could not wait any longer, she had to know one way or another, there was a spell that could show here where Charlie was but it was dangerous, it left her open to attack but she didn’t care, she had to know, she cleared a space on the living floor and laid on the floor, she held the necklace that Charlie had given her only days before, as she held the necklace she said “Aratati mi undeeste” her body was still at her house but her mind was transported to where he was.

She opened her eyes and she was in a cold dark place where the walls had water running down them, the whole area was lit with flame torches, where the hell was, he, Leanna began to walk around the cold corridors to try and find him, she came to some iron bars and something compelled her to look and there he was chained to a wall.

“my poor baby” she said “so, it is true then, he does have you then, you bloody fool” she added about to turn and leave, when Charlie looked up at her.

“go back to your body and come and get me” Charlie said

Leanna jolted awake on her living room floor, she had no idea that he would be able to see her but he was much better at magic than her, that was the only thing he was better at but magic could not help much against vampires, you could blind them temporarily or hold them for a while but could not be any help when you were chained to a wall. .

Leanna stood up not quite believing that it was true and the Dean did have him, she was angry with herself, she had waited two bloody days for him to come back, she had no time now to wait for Peter, she had to go and get him, Leanna picked up the only thing she needed, her sword, dressed all in black with her sword in its sheath on her back, she walked from the house and towards Xanax, Towards the Dean, she had no fear of him after all he was just another vampire and killing them was what she was born to do, killing them was what she had trained her whole life to do.

One way or another this would end tonight either with his or her life, Leanna made it to Xanax and headed straight for the castle as Charlie’s map had said that was where the Dean was hiding, as she approached the castle, she knew she was being watched

“he is waiting for me” Leanna said without Looking and still walking

“he is but you will have to get through us first” came the reply

“really, are we going to do this” Leanna said

“we are” came the reply as a male vampire and four of his mates jumped down from the ramparts

“i have only come for him” she said whilst drawing her sword from its sheath and preparing to fight

“you may have but you will have to get through us first” he replied

“then it will be my pleasure to send you too the underworld” Leanna said

“and we will do the same for you” he replied

“you can try” Leanna said

And so, the fight began, Leanna looked around at the five of them, so, this was the Deans plan to try and weaken her, drain her energy so, that she would not be at full strength when faced him but it did not take her long to deal with them and Leanna was on her way moving quickly through the corridors and dealing with any that came at her, within 5 minutes she reached the main hall where he was sat on a chair staring don at everyone

“finally,” he said as she walked through the door

“I nearly did not come you do not have him it is merely a trap for me” Leanna lying

“you know it to be true, you know he is here” he said

“if I did do you think it would have taken me two days to come here” Leanna said

“did your heart no tell you that when he did not return that I had captured him” the Dean asked

“no, I know him, he would not have been so stupid to come here alone” Leanna replied, she knew that she was lying but she was trying to buy sometime to see how many foul creatures where there and if she could make it out alive.

“it does not matter if you believe or not, tonight this will end” the Dean said

“that is one thing we can agree on this will end tonight, you will either die or you will go to prison” Leanna said

“it will end tonight but not in the way you are hoping” he replied not moving

“you will find it hard to fight me if you are sitting down” Leanna said

“oh, did I not mention that it is not me that you will be facing tonight” he laughed

“what do you mean?” Leanna asked

“bring him” the Dean shouted and from the shadows stepped two vampires with Charlie between them, she was too late he was one of them.

“what have you done” she shouted

“taken the one thing from you that you hold the most precious and made him my kin for all eternity” the Dean laughed

“I will not fight” she said putting her sword away

“the you will die this night and I will finally be free from you” he said “attack” he added

Charlie was looking at her like a rabid dog that had not been fed for weeks, she could see the lust for blood in his eyes, she had to get out of here but they seemed to have every exit blocked, she needed to get through to Charlie, she knew that she would need his help to get out of here alive, as the fight began she decided to talk to him at the same time

“Charlie why didn’t you tell me that you had found him?” she asked

“what difference does it make?” he asked swinging his fist at her

“we could have done this together” Leanna said

“you would not have come here” Charlie said

“together we are stronger than anyone, our love gives us strength, that no one can beat, together we are better” Leanna said

“did” Charlie replied just as Leanna got the better of him and held him from behind

“Charlie you can beat this, you can be different, you can be better than them, I love you Charlie and I need you” she said

“Iam them and I do not want to be different, I am faster, I am stronger and I am better in every way” Charlie replied

“Charlie, I need you” Leanna said again

“if you love me and need me then join us, I am part of them now” Charlie said

“i will not become like them and I will not fight you” Leanna said

“then you will die and I will feed” Charlie said

“enough” the Dean shouted “give him a weapon and let’s have this over with, I am bored” he added and a sword was handed to Charlie, Leanna had no choice it was either end his life or lose her own.

“is this what you want?” Leanna asked

“I do, I am finally better then you” Charlie said

“even as one of them you are still not better than me” Leanna said drawing her sword

“we shall see” Charlie said and the fight began, Leanna had a little trouble fighting he was faster but he still fought the same way, she wanted this over with quickly, her heart had already broken and the man she loved was gone, with tears rolling down her face she lowered her sword and let him come at her, as he reached her she raised her sword just enough to pierce his heart, normally a sword would not kill a vampire but Leanna’s sword was made of silver, the one thing that could kill them if you pierced their hearts, as Leanna withdrew her sword she fell to her knees, she held Charlie in her arms and let out a scream of pain.

“goodbye my love, please forgive me” she said and Charlie was gone, she laid him on the floor and prepared herself to stand out fight so, she could escape this hell hole but it was too late, she didn’t see the Dean come up behind her.

“now, we will have you at our side, fighting for us” the Dean said and sunk his teeth into her neck, he pulled away to the cheer of everyone that was around him so, it seemed to Leanna that her fate was sealed but before she became a monster like him, she would kill him for what he had done.

“I told you that this would end tonight and it does” Leanna said swinging her sword quickly as she stood before the Dean realised what was happening, in a flash it was done the Dean had his head separated from his body but now came the hard part, she needed to get out of there, even as a vampire that she was going to become these things would still kill her for taking the Deans head.

“luminasoreali” she shouted and a flash of sunlight burst from her hands and filled the room, it blinded them long enough for her to escape, once she was free from the castle, she headed straight for her house and dawn was fast approaching, she was going to become one of them and the sunlight would kill her.

Leanna made it back to her house and locked every door and every window, she went into her bedroom and sat on their bed what the hell had just happened, how had she let him get so close, she thought that maybe her father had been right, falling in love with another hunter was a bad idea, because he was a hunter he had gone after the Dean to stop him from going after her and all because she loved him, she had been distracted by him dying that the Dean had got closer enough to bite her.

Leanna picked up the picture of Charlie and sat staring at it, she knew that he was gone but she had some things that she needed to get off her chest.

“oh, Charlie you were a stupid bloody idiot, I cannot believe that you knew where he was and you didn’t bloody tell me, together we could have beaten him instead you storm in and get yourself caught, you said that you loved me but you left me.

We had just gotten married and instead of spending time with me, you let your hot, headed anger get the letter of you and now you are bloody dead you, stupid son of bitch” Leanna said with tears running down her face she looked down at the picture in her hand and was filled with so much sadness and so much hate, she threw the picture across the room.

Yes, Leanna loved Charlie very much but because of his stupidity she was now becoming what she had spent her life training to fight and for that she hated him, as she sat on the bed, she could feel the change beginning to happen, she collapsed on the bed.
