In one afternoon, Doris still didn't go to the kindergarten to pick up Nadia. This time, it was because Jay didn't want her to.

"My parents want to see you," said Jay.

He sighed, "Rich people aren't always as happy as they seem to be. They can be miserable too."

Faintly laughing, she glanced at him and said, "You are rich and there are a lot of women around you. You must be the happiest man in the world!"

"Well, that's right. But my concern right now is how I could marry you." Jay burst out laughing. Not because he was not serious about marrying her, but because of her reaction.

Her smile disappeared and her face turned as red as an apple. He was serious just a few minutes ago, and now he was being playful again.

He stood up and held her waist gently as his head lowered down to kiss her.

But Doris turned sideways to dodge it.

"It took me a long time to put on my lipstick. What if you ruin it?" Her voice was unusually soft when she spoke.

Suddenly, Jay gripped her wrists. Their eyes met when she raised her head.

They got entangled with each other instantly. The desire in their eyes was unmistakable.

"I, I..." Because of the silence, she heard her heart hammering in her chest.

He lowered his head to kiss her.

But Doris cared too much about her lipstick. With wide eyes she said,

"My...my Lipstick!"

"I don't mind!" Consumed by his burning passion, he kissed her again.

The night had fallen.

"Dad, the guests are all here. Don't chat with the children. Come here!" said Eric, Jay's father. When his attention was turned to someone else, Stoney sighed in relief. "Okay, okay. Why hasn't Jay come yet?" He was still worried about his only grandson.

As soon as he finished his sentence, a sweet female voice reached his ears. "Grandpa, happy birthday!"

Smiling, Lucy Xia came over and greeted Landon.

"Hey, Lucy, how are you? I haven't seen you in a while. You have grown up," Landon Fang said while staring at her.

"Yeah, time flies, Mr. Fang!" It was Lucy's father who responded.

"Exactly! I am now eighty years old." Landon Fang laughed together with them.
