Sold To a Handsome Trillionaire (Caroline and David)

Chapter Attractive Billioaire 222

Chapter 222 The Last Thing I Said to You Last Night

Caroline let out a breath, her memories slowly piecing themselves back together. Finished

But as she lowered her gaze, she noticed something strange-her clothes had been changed into pajamas, and her wounds had been carefully treated and bandaged.

She had passed out last night. Then what? What had happened after that?David... called the servants to change my clothes? Called a doctor to treat my injuries?

"This... doesn't seem like him," Caroline murmured to herself. "He should've just left me in the car, as long as I didn't die. Or maybe he would've just shaken me awake and walked away like nothing happened..."

For some reason, her mind drifted back to the words David had said last night. "Let's change the game." A sudden chill ran down her spine, goosebumps rising on her skin.

"Madam," a voice came from the door. "Are you awake? It's time for breakfast."

"I'm coming!"

Caroline quickly freshened up, changed her clothes, and headed downstairs.

To her surprise, David was still at home.

He was sitting on the living room sofa, a cup of tea resting beside him.

It was rare to see him so leisurely.

If he wasn't at the Ellison Group, he was holed up in his study, buried in work.

Seeing her, David glanced at his watch. "You slept long enough."

"You... why are you still home?"

"To keep you company."

Caroline had just stepped off the last stair when she heard those words.

She nearly tripped over her own feet.

Did I hear that right? Is this real life? Not a dream? David just said... he was staying to keep me company? What the heck was he up to? Was this his idea of "changing the game"? Annoying me to death?

"Madam, be careful." A nearby servant quickly reached out to steady her. "Please take your time."

Caroline waved her off, regaining her balance. She didn't even dare look at David-she turned on her heel and practically ran into the dining room.

She needed to stay away from him.

Who knew what he was scheming this time?

Watching her flee, David frowned. She's avoiding me? Why? I haven't even done anything to her since we

came back last night. Could it be... because of what I said before she fell asleep? "Maybe I really do love you." Is that why she's

Chapter 222 The Last Thing I Said to You Last Night

David rose from his seat and followed her into the dining room.

Caroline was drinking porridge when, out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of his figure approaching.

She nearly choked. Why won't he go away?

Finished

David pulled out a chair beside her and sat down. Without hesitation, he asked, "Are you avoiding me?" "Huh?" Caroline looked completely baffled.

"I asked-did you hear the last thing I said to you last night?"

"Huh?"

Now she was even more confused. What is he talking about? Why is he acting like a completely different person overnight?

She was so caught off guard that she glanced around the room as if searching for an escape, then discreetly pinched herself.

Ouch. This was real. David must be possessed. And... what did he say to me last night?

Caroline racked her brain, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't remember.

She only had a vague recollection of their conversation-she didn't remember which sentence came first or last.

After all, she had been on edge, overwhelmed, and barely thinking straight.

Seeing her struggle, David's expression darkened.

"You lost your memory?" He scoffed. "Do you need a doctor to check your brain?"

That sarcastic tone-finally, something familiar.

Caroline exhaled.

At least she was still in reality.
