SELENE'S POV

I skip a heartbeat when Martha hugs me again at my back. I don't know why, every time she does it I lose control of my heart, it really beats so fast.

When I slowly turn around to face Martha, I can only see her beautiful face, it is charming in my eyes and those tiny lips like a rosebud make my throat dry for some reason and I can't help myself but... "Tsuup"

I kissed Martha on her cheeks. In the middle of my sudden desire, confusion woke me from doing it. Good thing, it only landed on her cheeks but it was supposed to be on her lips.

When I get out of the room my heart is literally beating so fast.

"What is going on with you Sen?!"

I ask myself in confusion. Trying to calm myself, I poured a glass of wine and drank it.

Suddenly, Gust was calling.

"Yes?"

I said, still in the middle of my thoughts.

"It is David's secret troop."

Gust said that surprised me.

"So it's confirmed, it's Natasha."

I felt really bad for Martha, it's no joke to be Natasha's enemy.

"So how is she Sen?"

Gust asked and I could feel his concern.

"She is fine now; she is in my room."

I said indifferently, since I knew he would react.

"Wow! That is new! You let her sleep in your room twice now, huh?"

Gust said, trying to tease me.

"She needs a calm place; my room is a perfect fit."

I simply said, even though I am aware he would still think of other things anyway.

"Alright, I get that, but I am just wondering how you knew that Martha was in danger? It is impossible that you are tailing her... wait, you're following her?"

Gust exclaimed when he realized it, so I just breathed out, still thinking why did he need to make it a big deal?

"We will talk about it once you get here. Don't overreact about things, Gust, and by the way, I am going to need your presence later."

I said, skipping the subject which I knew he would notice. He always notices for sure!

"Okay, just give me a call,"

Gust simply said

I am now thinking about Natasha and her upcoming doom. I hope it won't really affect

MARTHA'S POV

I get back to sleep while thinking about what happened earlier. I mean what Ms. Selene did; my whole system was disturbed by it, gosh! Am I still thinking normal? Why am I so affected by that kiss? I mean it was supposed to be nothing! She is just being friendly.

"Damn! Get a hold of yourself, Martha!"

I said to myself while arguing with my brain, I try to get up and go out of the room. It was almost afternoon already. I reached the dining area and I could smell that yummy and enticing food!

"Ms. Martha, the food is ready."

The head maid said. Such a nice and warm person she is.

I sat down right away since I was so hungry. I mean my dinner with Valerie was interrupted by what happened and I am so literally starving.

"Ahmm, how about you, Ma'am? Come on in, let us eat!"

I said to the head maid and other servants, but it seems they are not allowed to do that.

"No Miss, we are not allowed, my apologies."

She said in a very nice manner. I know they are not allowed to eat with guests, but I don't see any reason why they can't.

"Ahm, how about Ms. Selene, where is she?"

I asked. Yes, I am eager to know where the person that made my heart and mind disturbed all through the time!

"She already left earlier; she has an important matter to attend to."

The head maid explains, since I am supposed to know what her errands are.

Wait, speaking of what is supposed to be her itinerary for today, I want to check on it but I am afraid she will get mad at me since she declares that it is going to be my off today though I remember it is her Chansze Corporations appointment today.

"Ahm, did she mention anything about me or something she ordered me to do?"

I ask the head maid, then quickly gets her tickler and checks on it. I guess it is her reminder note.

"She mentioned, Miss, that if you want to go home make sure the driver will take you home, and if you ever want to go somewhere, bring the two bodyguards with you, but she prefers you to stay here for a while and she will be the one to bring you home instead. Just wait for her, Miss."

The head maid explained and I was stunned to hear all those options and reminders. I mean she really means to protect me, which makes me smile a bit. I am pretty sure I am blushing as well, geez!

Imagine everything was prepared for any decision that I will choose to make. Seriously, that is something, and I didn't see this coming!

While I was giggling, I suddenly remembered Valerie, so I thought of visiting her house with Ms. Selene's bodyguard.

I quickly prepared myself to go to her house and make sure she was fine. Her place isn't that far from Ms. Selene's place.

As I got there, the guard mentioned that she was in the hospital, so I managed to find what hospital and get the address and hurriedly go there.

It is currently located in Quezon City. I think it is the hospital where I brought Jan to have him checked up before.

When I get to the hospital, I ask the nurse's station where her room is and they provide it.

I was about to knock when I heard her voice talking to someone, but still, I continued to knock.

"Val,?"

I said, then quickly ran towards her to hug her.

"Mar, good thing you're okay, I was so worried about you."

She said while burying her face in my shoulder.

"And I am as well. I really wanted to make sure you were okay, but I couldn't go since I am required to rest. I mean they almost got me. Anyway, who brought you here?"

I ask.

"There are police who got into my place telling me that those men in black seem to be professional thieves, all my jewellery and cell phone are gone!"

She explained and that surprised me. It wasn't robbery in the first place, so what is going on now?

I wonder what is really happening now. I am pretty sure that it wasn't robbery! I saw what I saw, they hit Valerie on the head and her cellphone dropped on the floor at that time, so it is really impossible that it was just a mere robbery. I even saw their logos and how they grabbed me and tried to abduct me, thanks to that person in a hoodie. I was able to escape, but how on earth is Valerie's statement different?

"Earth to Mar!"

Valerie shouts while I am in the middle of my thoughts.

"Goodness Val, stop shouting, it may be bad for you!"

I said, feeling grumpy now!

"I am fine Mar, you are out of yourself again, most of the time I find you like that. Anyway, I was wondering how you got out?"

She asks that somehow putting me silently, but the way I look at her I really need to tell you a bit.

"I fought a little to defend myself, especially when I saw you passed out. I was really scared and ran away though they tried to chase me good thing. I escaped from them and hid."

I explain even though I am really shocked by her sudden question.

Speaking of escape, I am thinking about the person who helped me. His looks are really different. I assume it is a man, since what kind of woman can fight that way, though I can't erase the thoughts of guessing she is a woman. The smell of her perfume and her body has a sexy curve. I can almost think she is just a long-legged woman. I don't remember if she has boobs because of her jacket, though come to think of it, what if she is the real robber who stole Valerie's things, damn! It is really getting confusing now. Well, what matters is that Valerie and I are safe.

While I am again in the midst of my who's and why's, I was surprised when Valerie hugged me.

"Mar, I will never forgive myself if something bad happens to you, that I can't take it."

She whispered while hugging and holding my hand.

"I am okay Val, you are the one who should take a rest and look after yourself now. You need to get better. I might be going to miss you in the office!"

I said smilingly.

"Don't worry, once I get well we will have another dinner, much more special and, of course, safe."

She said, then smiled wide at me; I just love how she smiled at me pleasantly.

It was almost past an hour of staying at the hospital when I decided to go home to let Justin and Jan know where I was since I didn't go home last night. I don't like them to worry about me. SELENE'S POV

Heading to the Chansze Corporation, I already know what kind of company they have. It's a loan shark company at the same time dealing with export and import products. They ordered 20 trailer vans from my company and when we had already produced them, Chansze corporation changed their mind and wanted to have 5 more vans, but the problem was they did not deposit at least a 50% partial payment, and I was not happy about that, so I decided to approach them in person.

The Chansze is actually expecting me. All their men can be seen scattered around the lobby to the main office of the CEO.

When I entered the office, it had 6 to 10 men around the CEO, who was sitting in the center chair.

"Selene, the beautiful Selene,"

Garry greeted me with his sweet smile but not for long.

"Nice to see you again Garry"

I sit in front of him where a centre table is between us.

"I guess I know why you're here."

Garry said while crossing his legs and staring at me.

"It's simple Garry, where is my money, I need your payment."

I said while sitting seriously and looking at him.

"That's what I like about you, you're too.... direct... why don't we loosen up a bit?"

Garry said while smiling and looking at me from my chest to my legs.

"What is on your mind then?"

I ask, then cross my legs in front of him, which makes him swallow his throat.

"How about a game?"

Garry then pulled up his gun, a 44 magnum revolver, and removed all the bullets.

"I will remove all the bullets, and then, keep one inside. We will pull the trigger on our heads one at a time. I am the first, then it is your turn. Let's have destiny decide our fate."

He explains, then gives me a broad smile that I return with my sweetest smile, signing that I approve of his game.

"Sorry Garry, Fate has already died on me a million years ago,"

I mumbled to myself while smiling at him.
