Saying Goodbye to My Troubles (Nydia and Mick)

Chapter My Troubles 64

Chapter 64

"From the way they're interacting, it looks like mother and son. Who was it that said her son caused trouble at the hospital before?" one of the nurses asked.

"This is what a normal mother-son relationship looks like. What kind of son would speak harshly to his mother?"

"That's true. I really envy Dr. Vega. She's young, successful, and already has a child."

"She's probably widowed. A true winner in life."

When Nydia and Norman arrived at the ICU, they saw Austin accompanying Eddie.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Clayton, Mr. Houle," Nydia greeted them as she walked over.

She was about to update them on Homer's condition when she suddenly heard an irregular beeping from the machines in the ward.

She paused, listening carefully for two seconds. Her expression shifted, and she immediately

entered the ward.

Before anyone could react, she yanked out Homer's IV line. The needle was torn out, and blood began dripping, quickly staining the white bedsheet. "What are you doing?"

Buck's eyes were bloodshot, showing signs of exhaustion. He looked like a furious lion, ready

to pounce.

"If something happens to my grandfather, I won't let you off the hook."

At that moment, several thoughts raced through his mind. The most prominent thought was that Nydia was trying to use Homer to pressure him into bringing Mick back so Mick could apologize to her. Nydia didn't have time to explain. She just pointed at the nearby machines.

"Look for yourself!"

Her impulsive behavior had also knocked off the monitoring equipment from Homer's body. But even so, the other machines were still functioning properly. The readings were all normal.

If someone without medical knowledge looked at them, they would think everything was fine and wouldn't even question whether the medication was correct. Only then did Buck realize he had misunderstood Nydia.

"Dr. Vega, I'm sorry."

Once Nydia confirmed that Homer hadn't been too affected and there was no immediate danger, she sighed in relief.

She spoke slowly. "It's fine. You were just worried about your family. Some things... are difficult to explain."

After a brief pause, Nydia continued, "When I was abroad, I came across a certain vaccine. When someone receives this vaccine, they are essentially marked.

"If the other party wants you dead, all they need to do is manipulate a certain program, and the person will suffer a heart attack and die."

Everyone in the room shuddered. They thought, "How could something so sinister even exist?

Buck's brow furrowed. "This sounds a lot like the ancient poison methods we've heard of."

"It can be understood that way," Nydia said, frowning as she glanced at the nearby equipment. Whoever was behind this had a clear agenda. It wasn't just about Homer-it could be her as well.

Eddie gave a command to Wayne. "Bring me my laptop."

Almost as soon as he finished speaking, the computer equipment in the room began to flicker with static. The screen was soon replaced with the image of a man dressed in black-black clothes, a black hat, and a black mask. "Not bad. You were cautious. But unfortunately, you're too late. You can save this one, but you won't be able to save the others."

Austin's expression darkened. "What do you mean by that?"

Suddenly, loud cries echoed from outside the room. "The oxygen isn't working! My child can't breathe."

"There's a power outage at the incubator station. A lot of babies are still inside!"

"This is bad! How are we supposed to perform surgeries with the power out?"

The entire hospital erupted into chaos.

"Nydia!" The hacker on the screen laughed again. "You shouldn't have meddled in things that don't concern you. If you apologize now, I might consider sparing the people in this hospital."
