Chapter 9
Chapter 9
The sharp voice alerted Elizabeth instantly. Seeing that Katherine’s hand was about to land on her face, she quickly moved to the side, raised her hand to hold Katherine right at her wrist, and broke it mercilessly.
“Ah!”
Katherine screamed and started sweating profusely from the pain. She struggled to pull out her hand from Eliazabeth’s grip.
“Elizabeth, you bitch! Let go of me quickly! Get lost!”
Katherine exclaimed.
Elizabeth exerted some force on Katherine’s hand, causing her to lose her balance and stand twisted in the direction of Elizabeth
“Let her go!”
Kaida rushed toward Elizabeth like crazy, ready to snatch Katherine out and team up with her to deal with Elizabeth. At this moment, a tall figure, who had been standing outside, suddenly pushed open the door, walked in, and shouted in a deep. stern voice, “What are you doing?”
Andrew came in and walked in the direction of Elizabeth..
Seeing Andrew, Kaida hurriedly pulled Katherine and winked at her.
Andrew stepped forward to shield Elizabeth behind him.
“Do you have any grudges against my wife?” Andrew looked at Kaida and Katherine with displeasure. His gaze was cold and sharp as if it would leave long–lasting harm.
His gaze made Kaida and Katherine not dare to look directly at him.
Katherine retreated subconsciously. “Andrew, you must have misunderstood. I wanted to have a good talk with my sister just now, but I didn’t expect her to…”
She lowered her head as if she had been greatly wronged.
“But what?” Andrew raised his eyebrows and asked casually.
“Elizabeth attacked Mom. Look, it’s swollen.”
Katherine pointed at Kaida’s hand and showed it to Andrew. It was indeed reddish. Kaida’s eyes also turned red instantly, and she looked aggrieved.
Andrew sneered. “Is that so? Why do I feel like the both of you are bullying my wife?”
He grabbed Elizabeth and held her in his arms with a hostile look, and his attitude was an arrogant one.
After he finished speaking, he did not wait for the two to answer but continued with a deeper and colder voice, “She is mine. Don’t touch a single hair on her. Otherwise, I will make you regret treating her like this.”
Elizabeth was stunned.
She didn’t expect that Andrew would take the initiative to back her up. Was he doing this for some kind of mutual benefit?
She blinked her eyes and ignored the warm arm of Andrew around her waist, trying hard to get used to his breath.
“Katherine Clarke, I will hold you responsible according to legal procedures for what happened today. Take care of yourself.” After saying this, Elizabeth directly took Andrew’s arm and left.
“Mom, look at how this bitch has treated us!” Katherine was so angry that she was jumping up and down. Just thinking about how Andrew had protected Elizabeth earlier made her want to rush forward and tear Elizabeth apart.
Kaida also looked shocked. She didn’t expect Elizabeth to be so tough.
“Kathy, I will definitely seek justice for you on this.” Kaida patted Katherine’s shoulder and said hatefully.
As he watched Elizabeth pull him out, Andrew raised the corner of his lips, and his eyes held a hint of unknown meaning.
When Elizabeth calmed down, she realized that she had just touched Andrew.
She actually forgot that this guy had a very deep obsession with cleanliness, and she pulled him all the way without getting him upset.
She hurriedly let go of the hand holding Andrew and apologized, “Sorry.”
For whatever reason, she was grateful that Andrew had saved her at that time.
“I owe you a favor for what happened just now.”
“What happened just now?” The corner of his lips curled up as he asked, “So, this is how you express your gratitude?”
Chapter 9
Elizabeth was stunned, somewhat unable to react to what he meant.
Then, what do you want?”
“Since you owe me a favor, you have to pay it back.” Andrew stared at Elizabeth, who was panicking in her heart and thinking that Andrew was having some bad idea again.
However, she initiatively promised to thank him and could only look back at Andrew calmly.
Looking at Elizabeth’s calm yet extremely defensive cyes. Andrew laughed softly, feeling inexplicably sorry for her from the bottom of his heart.
“So, Elizabeth had always been bullied by that mother and daughter in the Clarke family?” he wondered.
“Join me for dinner,” said Andrew as he stood up and walked toward the car..
Elizabeth was stunned again. She didn’t expect Andrew to just make such a simple request after thinking about it for a long
time.
After three seconds, she finally reacted and chased after him.
Andrew took her to the restaurant.
“Feel free to order whatever you want. It’s my treat.”
Andrew lazily leaned back in his chair, looking at Elizabeth with a slightly indulgent expression as if she were a pet.
Elizabeth gritted her teeth.
After gesturing for the waiter to come over, she pointed at the menu and ordered a full table of dishes.
“Anyway, it is his treat. The dishes in this restaurant are not cheap,” she said inwardly.
“Do you think you can bring down the Hayes family by ordering this table of dishes?”
Andrew felt amused looking at such a childish Elizabeth.
Elizabeth did not care about his ridicule.
“Yes. I’ll mortgage you here to wash the dishes.
Andrew’s eyes flickered, and he smiled without saying a word.
Who dared to have him wash the dishes here?
While the waiter was serving the dishes one after another, a man came over to them angrily.
Elizabeth was looking out at the scenery outside through the floor–to–ceiling window, and the image reflected on the glass caught her attention.
She glanced back.
It just so happened that the waiter came with a very hot soup. If it were poured out, both she and Andrew would suffer.
When the man quickly walked over, Elizabeth quietly stretched her toes out.
The man didn’t notice it at all. He tripped over the tip of her foot and threw himself forward.
The waiter had arrived at the table with the soup, and the man just passed the waiter when he rushed over.
When the man fell to the ground, the waiter’s hands trembled.
“Be careful not to spill the soup.”
Andrew reminded the waiter, and the coldness in his words made the waiter quickly come to his senses.
He put the dishes carefully.
The man on the ground scrambled to his feet. He glared at Elizabeth with sharp eyes and scolded her.
“Little bitch! How dare you stretch your foot and trip me!”
Elizabeth did not get angry when she was scolded. Instead, she stood up and humbly apologized.
“I’m sorry, sir. I was just about to go to the bathroom and didn’t notice you coming over. It’s my fault…”
The man was relentless and reached out to hit Elizabeth.
Andrew stood up and waved the man’s hand away.
His sharp gaze pierced the man like a sword.
“You’re embarrassing. Get out of here.”
The man flinched for a moment under Andrew’s gaze. Sensing the embarrassment, he gritted his teeth in sarcasm.
Chapter 9
“This place is not something a sickly person like you can call the shots on.”
“Sickly person?” Elizabeth wondered.
She glanced at Andrew. It seemed that this man came after him.
