Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Because of the face injury, Andrew changed his home study to a temporary office. Robert was running back and forth between the office and the villa every day, taking care of things Andrew was unable to do.
A week later, Andrew returned to the office immediately after the redness on his face had almost healed.
In the meantime, Henry also joined Hayes Group as the general manager of the accounting department.
He was a man of action. In just a few days, he had gone through the company’s financial statements for the last few years and figured out the financial situation. After that, he held several large meetings to make adjustments to the company’s financial
system.
Some of his actions seemed insignificant, but every step of the way reminded Andrew that he was not the same Henry who could be forcibly sent abroad with no strength to fight back.
In the CEO’s office, Robert put the project plan in his hand on Andrew’s desk with a sullen expression mixed with a little regrel.
“Boss, we started planning this project three months ago, and we’re about to execute it this week. But Mr. Henry has not approved the funds. I have applied several times, but he has refused. He either says that there are loopholes in the project or that the process is not right, causing us to miss this opportunity to cooperate with Lionstone for nothing.” Robert said indignantly.
During Andrew’s absence from the company, Henry was openly very polite to Robert, but he was suppressing him secretly..
No matter what payment process Robert applied for, Henry made him apply many times before giving him the go–ahead.
This time, the resort project was aborted tragically because of Henry’s deliberate harassment.
Upon hearing this, Andrew’s dark and deep eyes flashed a hint of seductive malice. He used his slender fingers to tap on the table gently, and a bloodthirsty curve formed at the corner of his mouth.
Andrew parted his sexy thin lips lightly and said with a cold tone, “I won’t let him be arrogant for long.”
He had been in charge of the Hayes Group for many years and had a solid foundation. How could he possibly disrupt himself just because of Henry’s little tricks?
“Boss, I get it.”
Robert nodded his head. Although he was still inwardly lamenting that promising collaboration, he was also clear that with the strength of his boss, what awaited them next time would only be a better and bigger project than this.
“I’ll let you go now. You work as usual”
“Okay,” Robert answered. He then turned and pushed the door open to walk out of the office.
Andrew narrowed his handsome eyes before picking up the already suspended joint plan. He looked over it casually for a few minutes, and a secretive look flashed under his eyes.
At this time, the intercom placed on the desk suddenly rang.
Andrew put down the document. He leaned down slightly and used his slender hand to pick up the intercom receiver and put it next to his ear.
“Mr. Hayes, Mr. Henry wants to talk to you. He asks if he can come to your office. The secretary’s voice came from the other end of the receiver.
“Let him in.” Andrew hung up just after he said that.
He sat in his office chair and patted his clean suit as if there was dust on it. He curled up the corners of his attractive mouth. into a meaningful sneer.
About a minute or so later, there was a knock on his office door.
“Come in.”
Henry, who was given permission, immediately pushed the door open and walked in from outside slowly. He sat down on the guest chair across from Andrew’s desk.
“Mr. Hayes, I heard that Lionstone has partnered with the Campbell Group.”
Henry met the opposite man’s eyes. His tone seemed to be with some apologies.
“Manager Henry, since you’ve already received the news, why did you come over and ask with fake concern?” Andrew tore off his pretense without mercy.
Hearing this, Henry’s face stiffened, and his apologetic expression grew even stronger.
“Mr. Hayes, you know that I am also a part of the Hayes Group. I heard about the loss of such good cooperation, so I am naturally worried. How could I only have fake concerns?”

Andrew frowned his handsome, sharp eyebrows. He did not give a response to Henry’s words as if he wanted to see what other nonsense could come out of his mouth next.
“Mr. Hayes, you have to believe me. I’ve just taken over the accounting department and am under a lot of pressure. I’ve been following the rules and regulations for every payment I’ve made to the company, so it has been delayed. I didn’t want that to happen either.”
Andrew snorted. A touch of mockery flashed under his eyes. No matter how sincere Henry’s attitude was, he would not believe a word he said.
After a pause, Andrew sat up straight.
He put away the smile on his face and replaced it with a cold expression and eyes full of gloom.
“Henry, don’t forget the reason you were sent abroad in the first place.“
When he said that, his tone was full of oppression and threat. It was as if he was telling Henry that if he was still as rampant as he was back then, he would have a worse consequence than just being sent abroad.
Upon hearing that, Henry’s originally still–taut face suddenly formed a sour expression. He looked at Andrew with hatred–filled eyes.
His hatred for Andrew was not generated overnight but was formed over time in the environment they grew up in and in their interaction since childhood.
Henry was also very excellent and not inferior to Andrew, but everyone around them always focused on Andrew. No matter how hard Henry tried, he was always shrouded in the shadow of his cousin, Andrew.
He was not willing to accept this, so he found a way to set up Andrew. He drugged Andrew and called out a few women. He planned to take some pictures that would be enough to damage Andrew’s reputation.
Unexpectedly, his originally foolproof plan failed. Not only did Andrew not do anything with those women, but he also escaped with his strong willpower.
Then their grandfather found out about it. Their grandfather was partial to Andrew, so Henry was forcibly sent abroad.
For many years, this matter had been like a thorn in his heart. He was very dissatisfied with their grandfather’s punishment for him. When he came back this time, he was determined to trample on Andrew.
Now Andrew’s arrogant attitude made him gnash his teeth. He could not wait to do something to hit him back, but he could not do it right now.
“Well, I’ve got work to do here. You can leave my office now.”
Seeing the angered expression on Henry’s face, Andrew curved up an arc of satisfaction on his lips and asked Henry to leave his office in a light–hearted manner.
Henry clenched his fists and gnashed his teeth fiercely. After that, he stood up from his seat violently.
“The days ahead are long, and it’s not certain who will laugh until the end. My dear cousin, let’s just wait and see.
After saying those words, he looked at Andrew with hatred and turned to leave his office.
