Chapter 96

Instead of heading to where they usually hung out, she went to a small garden.

Stella had just sat down when she heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, she saw Brian slowly

approaching her. His almost six–foot–three stature was intimidating.

“What do you want?” Stella eyed him.

Brian stopped in front of her, blocking the sunlight. “Ms. Yates, you have a very interesting personal life.

Yesterday you were with Bernard, and today you’re with Mr. Perkins. You’re the talk of the town.”

Stella frowned as soon as he spoke. Not a single word from him had been pleasant.

She raised an eyebrow and retorted, “No matter how ‘interesting‘ it is to you, it’s none of your business.”

She turned to leave, but Brian grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.

“Brian! What are you doing? Did you call me here just to humiliate me?”

Brian held her chin and looked down at her with a piercing stare. “Didn’t you just say I was your sugar daddy? Shouldn’t you come wagging your tail when your sugar daddy wants to see you? Why the long face now?”

“Who likes being humiliated?” Stella shot back angrily was just kidding back there. Do you have to take everything so seriously?”

Brian replied coldly, “If you don’t like being humiliated, stay away from those men.”

“And who are you to tell me that?”

“We’re not divorced yet,” he retorted.

“I told you, you can tell everyone you dumped me,” she said.

Brian scoffed. “I don’t like telling lies. As long as we’re still married, you’d better not cheat on me.”

Stella was taken aback.

Just then, Brian’s phone rang.

He glanced at it–it was a WhatsApp message from Jessica. “Brian, there seems to be a problem with my dress. Can you come up and take a look?”

After reading the message, Brian let go of Stella and walked away.

She rubbed her sore chin, unaware that Jessica had been watching their argument from the third floor,

Jessica’s gaze was cold and piercing. It was as if she wanted to kill Stella with her eyes.

Stella made her way downstairs.

Carrie was on the first floor, surrounded by a group of socialites showering her with compliments.

When she saw Stella, she rushed over with an apologetic look. “Stella, did you call me earlier? I was

getting my makeup done and didn’t check my phone. Sorry about that.”

Her sudden change in attitude made Stella cautious. “What’s going on? Has Jessica found something to

wear? If so, give me that white dress and I’ll take care of it.”

“Nope! She’s still stuck upstairs with nothing to wear!” Carrie nudged her upstairs. “Stella, you should head upstairs Jessica’s in the first bedroom on the left on the third floor. Don’t get lost!”

Stella brushed off Carrie’s hand and went upstairs.

The door to the room was unlocked, so she pushed it open and entered.

She heard the sound of running water from the bathroom.

Jessica must be in the shower.

“Are you done?” she asked, standing at the bathroom door

The bathroom door opened and a man wrapped in a white towel stepped out. It was Bernard.

Stella was shocked to see him.

Bernard looked confused. “What are you doing in this room?”
