Stella didn’t want to listen to Jessica’s nonsense anymore, so she turned to leave.
Brian called after her, “Are you not staying for breakfast?”

“She said her stomach hurt, so I had Yvonne take care of her.” Brian glanced at her. “Do you know she’s pregnant? How can you slap her?”
Stella was shocked.
“What if something happens to her child? Can you bear that responsibility?” It turned out that he had

“I know. You didn’t come back last night, so Mr. Perkins went to ask the hotel. They said Mr. Foley took you away. He didn’t do anything to you, did he?”
“I’m fine.” Stella lowered her voice and briefly explained what happened last night, omitting the amorous part with Brian, of course.
Brian raised an eyebrow when he heard her gloss over the details and simply mention that she took the medicine Joseph sent upon arriving at Yolvencrest Estate.
“No wonder,” Yelena said.
“No wonder what?”
“I saw the news this morning about Charles being arrested for corruption. Did Brian do that? If so, he’s quite a nice guy. Not only did he save you, but he also destroyed Charles. Charles has been arrested now, and his company is being liquidated. He probably won’t be out for ten years.”
Stunned, Stella looked at Brian.

“What’s wrong?” Brian asked casually upon noticing her gaze.
“Charles was arrested for corruption. Did you do that?”
“Such scum shouldn’t be allowed to thrive in society, Brian said nonchalantly, but Stella’s heart fluttered.
