Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 56

Chapter 56

“Brian?” Stella feared something was wrong with him. She crawled over to remove his snow goggles.

Underneath the goggles, his face was taut with tension. “I think I broke my leg,” he said to Stella.

The snap he heard when he fell into the pit earlier sent a jolt of fear through him. He suspected the damage was severe.

“No way!” Stella was startled. She quickly got off him and examined his leg. “Which leg?”

“Left leg.” Brian replied.

Stella pressed on it gently. “Is it here?”

“Yeah,” Brian grimaced in pain and instructed, “Call for help.”

“Okay “Without hesitation, Stella looked up at the edge of the pit.

Yoel and the others arrived, everyone was standing above them with grim faces.

“Are the two of you alright?” Yoel asked them.

Though the snow pit was about a meter deep, it shouldn’t be too senous if they weren’t injured.

Stella dismounted from Brian and looked up to say, “I’m fine, but Brian’s leg seems to be injured. He can’t move. We need to call an ambulance.”

Half an hour later..

Brian was carried into the ambulance.

Out of guilt, Stella said to Yoel, “Mr. Perkins, Brian’s hurt because of me. I need to get to the hospital and look after him. I have to go now. We’ll talk later.”

“Alright, be careful on the road,” Yoel said as he walked her to the ambulance

Brian lay on the stretcher, watching Yoel see her off. With a stoic expression, he said, “I’m already injured, and yet you have the nerve to flirt with your lover?”

Stella frowned. “Flirt? I was just saying goodbye.”

“You broke my leg, and you’re still so righteous?”

Stella felt a pang of guilt at her outburst. Lowering her head, she mumbled, “Isn’t that why I’m following you to the hospital?”

That’s more like it.

Brian closed his eyes. A moment later, they arrived at the hospital.

Joseph threw on his white coat as soon as he arrived at the hospital and followed a group of doctors into

the operating room.

The others waited outside

Jessica asked, “What happened just now? How did the two of you fall?”

Stella looked up at Bernard.

He stood in the corner. His eyes were filled with worry, likely because he was aware that he had caused

trouble.

Taking the initiative to admit his mistake, Bernard apologized, “It was my fault I bumped into her. I just wanted to scare her, but I didn’t expect her to fall.”

Stella didn’t quite believe it. She felt that Bernard did it on purpose.  Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

He harbored prejudice against her and intentionally pushed her down the snow slope.

Upon learning it was Bernard’s fault, Jessica’s expression softened greatly. “You can’t do this in the future. Skiing is an inherently dangerous activity.”

“I know” Bernard looked terrible. He must be feeling awful.

Feeling inexplicably restless, Stella ignored the two of them and stood in the corner to wait. She felt very uneasy after Brian broke his leg because of her.

Bernard said gently, “Jessica, you’re pregnant. Why don’t you go back and rest first? I’ll wait here.”

“Brian still hasn’t come out. How am I supposed to relax?” Jessica shook her head and held her waist to insist on waiting outside the operating room.

Bernard looked guilty.

Time passed by, and Stella’s heart remained anxious.

Half an hour later.

Joseph walked out of the operating room.

Stella heard the movement. Looking up, she saw Jessica walking over. Jessica then asked, “Joseph, how.

is Brian?”

“Brian has a slight fracture in his left leg.”
