Chapter 57

A collective sigh of relief swept through the room, breaking the tense atmosphere, as they heard that

Brian had only cracked a bone.

Stella quietly exhaled, finally feeling a sense of relief wash over her

“Brian has put a cast on his leg. He won’t need to be hospitalized, but we’ll need to observe him for half an hour before he can be discharged,” Joseph explained. He scanned the corridor, searching for Stella Spotting her, he beckoned her over,

Stella pointed to herself and said, “Me?”

“Yes,” he confirmed…

Stella approached, and Jessica cast her a disapproving glance.

Joseph continued, “Once you’re home, Brian will need to rest in bed for about two to three weeks. I’ll

come by regularly to check on him and change his dressing. Please take good care of him when you get

back.”

“Okay,” Stella agreed. Since she was responsible for Brain’s fractured leg, she had to take care of it.

However, Jessica was far from pleased.

Moreover, she was now Brian’s woman, so why was Joseph entrusting this responsibility to Stella?

With a forced smile, she led Bernard into the room to visit Brian.

Brian leaned against the hospital bed, his long left leg encased in a cast. With his dark hair falling over his eyes and his nose high and straight, he even managed to exude elegance despite his illness.

As soon as Bernard entered, he apologized to Brian, “Brian, I’m so sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?” Brian asked him.

This is all my fault. If I hadn’t knocked into Stella, she wouldn’t have fallen down,” Brian said.

Brian’s brow furrowed. “Did you push her?”

“Yes,” Bernard admitted with guilt.

Jessica quickly interjected, “Bernard didn’t mean to do it. He was just playing, and he didn’t expect Stella to fall. It was only because she fell that she bumped into you.”

Jessica spoke softly as she was defending Bernard

Brian glanced at Bernard, then said coldly, “You should be apologizing to someone else.”

Benard understood.

Brian wanted him to apologize to Stella.

After everyone had left the hospital room, Joseph whispered to Stella, “Did Brian get hurt down there too

when you fell?”

Down there?”

A bead of sweat trickled down Stella’s nose. She blurted out to Joseph, “Has something happened?”

“One side is swollen,” Joseph whispered. “Did he get hit there when you fell?”

“Oh no,” Stella thought to herself.

She had been wearing a helmet and goggles at the time, so she guessed the impact must have been quite severe. She asked worriedly, “Is it serious?”

“It’s uncertain yet, but he’ll need to apply some anti–swelling and pain–relieving ointment. I’ll go get the medicine now. You go back to the room and take care of Brian. I’ll bring the medicine over to you later.”

“Okay.”

Stella nodded. While she hadn’t been overly concerned beforehand, hearing this news reignited her

anxieties.

Please don’t let anything happen to his functionality. Otherwise, she would have been doomed.

Brian wouldn’t hesitate to make her pay.

Reaching the hospital room door, she paused as Jessica’s voice drifted out. “Brian, since your leg injury requires two weeks of rest, why don’t I move to Yolvencrest Estate to take care of you?”

“That’s not necessary,” Brian refused. “You’re pregnant. Just rest well.”

Bernard volunteered, “I’ll go. It’s my fault you’re hurt, Brian. I’ll take care of you at Yolvencrest Estate.”

“No need.” Brian refused him as well. Glancing up, he saw Stella enter the room. With a steady gaze, he replied, “I have someone at home to look after me.

He said this while looking at her.
