Stella shook her head stubbornly. She had already given the pendant away. How could she possibly take it back now? 

However, Brian wouldn’t let her go unless she agreed Stella gripped the blanket tightly. Beads of sweat formed on her nose from the heat. 

In the end, she could only agree reluctantly. “Fine, I’ll take it back. Now let go of me.” 

“You better mean it. Don’t treat my words as nothing.” Brian warned before releasing her and stepping off the bed to put on his black shirt. 

Stella pounded the bed in frustration. Upon hearing that, Brian gave her a cold look that sent a chill down. her spine.

“What did you say?” Brian shot her another heated glare that made her scalp tingle. 

Not daring to provoke him further, she quickly said. “Aren’t you going to work? Bye.” 

“I’m not going today,” Brian unexpectedly replied. Stella remained silent. 

Just like that, he put on his coat and left the bedroom. Now fully dressed, he exuded an air of elegance and sophistication. 

Yvonne, who was standing outside, trembled slightly. It was as if she had heard the earlier commotion inside. 

Brian, unfazed by the possibility of being overheard, casually instructed, “She’s to stay home today. Don’t let her go anywhere.” 

“Yes, Mr. Foley.” Yvonne complied immediately. After taking a few steps, Brian turned back, 

“Her butt is swollen. Get some anti–inflammatory ointment for her.” 

“Understood,” Yvonne responded again. Once Brian left for the hospital to accompany Sharon for her check–up, Yvonne hurried into the bedroom with the ointment to find Stella. 

The slender Stella lay face down on the bed, her head buried in the pillow as she cried. She was so upset that she was shaking as she sobbed. 

Yvonne’s heart ached for her. She walked over and gently brushed Stella’s hair aside. 

“Mrs. Foley, don’t be too upset. Mr. Foley has gone to the hospital with Madam Sharon for her check–up. Let me help you with the ointment.” 

Upon hearing that, Stella looked up at Yvonne with tear–filled eyes. “Sharon is having a check–up today?” 

Yvonne nodded. “Yes. I heard her condition isn’t good. If the check–up results are bad, she might need surgery.

Stella was stunned. She didn’t realize Sharon’s condition had deteriorated so much. 

“Does she not have much time left?” Stella asked after a moment of thought. 

“We don’t know yet. Apparently, she coughed up blood a few days ago and didn’t tell Mr. Foley. One of the maids there, whom I know, secretly texted me about it 

*Madam Sharon is undergoing several major tests today. If the results are fine, there won’t be a problem. If not… Yvonne couldn’t finish her sentence.
