Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 129

Chapter 129

Stella let out a soft laugh and asked in disbelief, “Could it be that he’s stressed out from debt collectors? How does someone with depression manage to gamble away hundreds of thousands?”

“Your” Blair’s face went pale, her voice rising in accusation. “You better not be spreading lies about my

dad!”

Stella remained unruffled. “Here’s an idea. I’ll call a reporter right now. Let’s get Mr. Hark’s family involved,

too. We’ll air out all the details together.”

“My dad’s still your family. Why are you so bent on ruining him?” Blair’s voice trembled with frustration as

she confronted Stella.

“Ruin your family?” Stella’s laughter rang out, tinged with bitter disbelief.

“Chris drugged me and pawned me off to settle his gambling debts. Did any of you feel an ounce of guilt about that? And now you want me to pull strings to get your father’s job back? Have you no shame?”

Blair stumbled over her words, trying to justify her father’s actions. “It–it was just a mistake. He’s really

sorry.”

“I don’t see any remorse from your side, just audacity, Stella shot back, her voice cutting like ice. “Enough

talk. I’m calling a reporter.

“Let’s bring all three families together and lay everything bare. We’ll see if your father is as innocent as you claim.”

“So, this family pulls a shady move, and now they’re also the ones stirring up trouble?” someone in the crowd questioned skeptically.

Stella shot back assertively, her voice carrying over the murmurs of the crowd, “That’s right! Her father sold me out, and now they’re parading around with that sign to shame me!”

“That’s just plain low!” another voice shouted from the crowd.  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

As tensions escalated, Blair rushed forward and grabbed Stella’s arm, her expression fierce.

“Stella, don’t push it. Let’s not forget that when you married Brian, my parents gave you your wedding gifts. Without us, would you have even had family at your wedding? Did anyone else step up for you like we did?”

“When I married Brian, he dumped 100 million dollars into Yates Group. That cash had to be a request from Uncle Chris to Brian, right? But no one ever bothered to clue me in.

Instead, I get a measly 200 thousand dollars wedding gift, and I’m supposed to bow down in gratitude. Who do you think scored big in this marriage? You know the answer!” Stella sneered, her tone sharp and

bitter.

It finally clicked for her. If there wasn’t something to gain, would Chris bother playing boss at Yates Group? “He sure as hell got plenty out of it,” she muttered inwardly. That was why Claudia and Blair were in such

a damn hurry now..

As she came to think about it–they were driving million–dollar cars while she, the true heiress of Yates.

Group, was left scraping by with just a few tens of thousands to her name.

“Stop talking nonsense!” Blair’s voice rang out sharply. She grabbed at Stella’s sleeve.

Stella frowned as Blair tugged at her clothes. “Don’t pull on my clothes. We’ll settle this when the reporters show up,” she retorted, reaching for her phone.

Blair’s desperation showed as she lunged for Stella’s phone. “Stella, you can’t bring reporters into this!”

Stella pushed Blair’s hand away firmly. “I’m calling them

“Don’t you dare!” Blair’s demeanor turned steely and cold. “I’ve heard you’re divorcing Brian. Without his

protection, if you mess with us, I won’t let you off easily!”

“And what are you planning to do to her?” A cold, authoritative voice sliced through the crowd from the

back.

All heads turned to see who had spoken. Almost as if choreographed, the crowd spontaneously cleared a path.

From the back emerged a figure of elegance and poise, accompanied by Mike, strolling forward unhurriedly. The crowd fell into a hushed awe, murmuring with recognition, “Isn’t that the young entrepreneur from TV?”

“No way, it’s really him!”

“Brian Foley, the president of Foley Group!”

Excitement surged through the gathering as they fixed their gaze on him, with whispers of admiration rippling through.

“He’s so good–looking! It’s like a Hollywood star coming to life!”
