Brian paused. “How are my mom’s tests going?”

“She just got admitted. The tests are scheduled for tomorrow,” Joseph responded. “But Jessica’s been. keeping her in good spirits, having her pick baby names every day. Your mom’s been all smiles and was really enjoying herself.”

Brian didn’t say anything further. It was a comfort knowing his mother was happy. This would help to keep her anxiety at bay before the tests.

Joseph added, “Jessica really knows how to handle things, keeping your mom happy like that. But is the baby really yours? If not, how’s your mom going to handle that bombshell?”

“Let her have these happy moments,” Brian replied flatly. With Sharon facing crucial tests, he didn’t want to disturb her

Joseph persisted with his probing questions but hit a wall. Frowning, he said, “Brian, you’re a tough nut to crack. I’ve been asking, and you haven’t given me a thing.”

Brian gave him a cool, dismissive look. “If you’re done here, you can go. I’ve got work to do.”

“Come on, Brian, spill it. What went down with Stella? You know I’m the love guru around here, maybe 1 can drop some wisdom,” Joseph said, a sly grin playing on his lips.

Brian held his gaze for a beat before answering in a low voice, “She’s dead set on a divorce.”

“No reason?” Joseph asked.

“How would I know? Maybe she’s got a thing for that smooth–talking Yoel,” Brian scoffed, his eyes turning cold as steel.

Joseph chuckled, “Well, maybe that’s because you don’t know how to woo a lady. You’re all about being forceful. These days, girls go for the sensitive, caring type.”

Brian stayed quiet, his hand slowing on the file he was flipping through. Seeing Brian’s attention, Joseph grinned knowingly.

“You gotta up your romance game, buddy. Sweep her off her feet–pick her up after work, take her to a movie, show her you’re all about her. Once the mood’s set, everything else just falls into place…”

Brian frowned skeptically. “You really think that’ll work?

Joseph chuckled knowingly. “That’s how you do it, man! Ever taken her to a movie? Or set up a candlelit

dinner?”

“No,” Brian admitted frankly. Stella had always been the one chasing after him, and he hadn’t bothered

much.

Joseph stared at him, incredulous. Before leaving, Joseph tossed a casual remark over his shoulder, “I’ve already got the movie tickets and dinner reservation sorted out for you. Just remember to pick up Stella tonight and make it a night she won’t forget.”

Brian didn’t reply. But by 5:30 pm, he had cleared his schedule with Mike and left work early.

At Starlight Couture, Blair made another dramatic entrance

Claudia didn’t come today. But Blair brought a group of her friends and a large sign that boldly declared,” Ungrateful Niece Drives Uncle’s Family to Ruin.” They strategically stationed themselves at the studio’s entrance, causing a spectacle to draw the attention of passersby.

Stella got the message and came downstairs, A crowd had gathered at the company’s entrance and was buzzing with questions about the commotion.

Spotting Stella, Blair didn’t hesitate to launch her accusation. “Stella, if you have any ounce of decency left, you’ll persuade Mr. Foley to reinstate my father.

“He’s battling depression and talking about taking his own life because of your actions. You could be the

death of him!”
