Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 127

Chapter 127

Brian smiled, picked up the jewelry box, and walked to the quest bedroom door,

Just as he was about to push it open, he heard Stella talking on the phone inside. He stopped and stood by the door, listening.

“Stella, are you really okay after the birthday party that night?” Yoel asked after hearing her silence.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” she replied.

“I heard you moved back to Yolvencrest Estate. Does that mean you two have made up?”

Stella was silent for a moment. “No, I owe Brian some money. He wants me to work here to pay off the debt.”

“That’s good,” Yoel said, sounding relieved. “The main thing is, with your divorce, your dad can get out. So, are you still…?”

At the mention of her father, her eyes flickered. She replied quietly, “Don’t worry. I’m not going back to that marriage.”

In two weeks, her dad would be released. Stella couldn’t turn back now.

If her dad got out and Brian was still willing to be with her, she thought she might be willing to fight for their relationship again.

But only if Brian didn’t hate her dad.

Brian harbored a deep–seated animosity toward, the Yates family, and she suspected it ran deeper than just Chris‘ actions.

Perhaps there was a more profound rift between Brian and her father,

Two years ago, her dad had finally maneuvered her into Brian’s bed. But after their conversation, his face had gone ghostly pale, betraying his lack of peace with what he’d orchestrated.

She still remembered when her dad looked at her with pity and said, “I hope you don’t fall too hard for him.

She was sure there was more to the story between her dad and Brian.

Brian’s gaze turned cold as he overheard her words from the doorway.

He had assumed she might have reconsidered the divorce, but now he realized nothing had changed.

He sighed softly, then walked away with the gift.

The next day at Foley Group, Brian’s gloomy mood hung over the entire day, making the atmosphere in the executive meeting unbearably tense.

His cold stare sent a chill through everyone present.

The executives sat stiffly, nervously holding their breath.

After the meeting, a few of them caught up with Mike. “Mike, what’s with Mr. Foley? Is he unhappy with our New Year’s plans?”

“Mr. Foley looked downright terrifying!”

A crowd gathered around Mike, bombarding him with questions about Brian’s demeanor.

Mike appeared resigned, knowing he couldn’t disclose that Brian’s mood was sour over a spat with his wife

He managed to placate them, saying, “Don’t worry. Mr. Foley liked your proposals. He’s probably just a little off today, maybe he didn’t get much sleep.”

After easing their concerns, Mike headed toward the president’s office.

Joseph had just arrived. He was leaning casually against the reception desk, charming the secretary who blushed at his playful banter.

“Dr. Sanders, what brings you here today?” Mike asked Joseph.

“Oh, just dropping off Mr. Foley Senior’s medical report. What’s up with Brian? He seems really down,” Joseph said casually.

“He had a spat with his wife,” Mike whispered.

“Mike, don’t you have anything better to do?” Brian’s sharp voice sounded from the office.  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Startled, Mike went silent.

Joseph arched an eyebrow and strolled into Brian’s office.

“How did Mr. Foley Senior’s report go?” Brian asked.

“Nothing major. His blood pressure and blood sugar are a bit elevated. But overall, he’s holding up well for his age,” Joseph answered, settling into a chair opposite Brian,

“Speaking of health, I heard your mother has been in the hospital for tests recently. Jessica’s been there every day, playing the devoted daughter–in–law.”
