Once Upon A Rejection

Molly Morgan’s POV

The doctor looked at Hayden holding Ellie and growled. Hayden wasn’t one to back down and he growled right back, ignoring the fact that his wrists were still bound in silver. Ellie was in complete shock and Hayden was taking advantage of that. He had his arms across her body and he had almost his whole body touching her.

“You can’t have her, I have already marked her.” Hayden growled possessively.

“I don’t care, the goddess gave me a great gift and I am not giving up her gift for anything.” The doctor replied. His eyes were on Ellie and they were filled with hope.

“You expect me to share my mate with you?” Hayden growled, his fingers were digging into Ellie’s side. The pain was enough to bring her around from her shock. She whimpered slightly but she couldn’t do anything about Hayden’s tight grip around her body.

“Don’t I get a say in all of this?” She screamed in frustration. The doctor rushed over to her side and took hold of her hand. He ignored Hayden completely, all of his focus was on Ellie.

“Of course you do my love. I just hope that once you get to know me you will want to share your life with me.” He told her. Hayden was getting aggravated by their proximity and while I was enjoying witnessing his discomfort I didn’t think it would do Ellie much good.

“How about we discuss this later. Ellie has been through a lot today, she needs to rest.” I said. The doctor smiled at his new mate and nodded his head in agreement but Hayden looked less than impressed by my suggestion.

“She will rest better in my arms,” he growled. He was still holding on to her possessively. He was desperate to keep her close to him so their bond would grow stronger. He wanted to make sure she didn’t reject him but I wasn’t going to let him manipulate her like that. If she wanted to accept him even after what he did that was fine but it had to be her choice.

“Not a chance,” I growled at Hayden. The doctor was ignoring us as he started checking his mate’s vitals. He held onto her hand while he checked the readouts from the machines and checked her temperature. Running his fingers over the back of her hand tenderly as he worked.

“If she is ok to leave she could stay with us.” June suggested. Ezra pulled on her arm to get her attention. June’s eyes glanced briefly in his direction before looking away again. That wasn’t the response that he was looking for so he tried again.

“June, I was hoping we could spend some time together.” Ezra said. June laughed.

“I know exactly what you mean by that and as tempting as it sounds, my friend needs me.” June replied. Ezra pouted slightly. He started whispering things in her ear that I couldn’t quite hear and was pretty sure that I didn’t want to hear.

The doctor had finished checking Ellie over, he was still holding onto her hand. He was whispering something into her ear, I couldn’t hear what he was saying but she was smiling and blushing. He was already a much better mate than Hayden who was busy trying to hide his annoyance. He didn’t like them getting close for fear that he would get pushed aside. He was doing his best to act like the perfect gentleman and the perfect mate but it didn’t take much to see past his act.

“Be patient. If we help Ellie tonight I will do that thing you like with my tongue tomorrow.” June was whispering into Ezra’s ear but she hadn’t got the hang of keeping her voice low enough to prevent nearby shifters from hearing. I really wish she had learned that particular skill, I didn’t want to know anything about what they did together, yuck.

“Ok, that settles it. Ellie will go with June and Hayden will get locked in the cells.” I said, glancing at Grayson and Talen in turn. Talen nodded his head in agreement and got the guards that were standing outside the room to come in. They dragged Hayden out of Ellie’s bed and practically carried him out of the room. Once he was gone the whole atmosphere changed. Everyone was much more relaxed and all of the tension seemed to leave Ellie’s body.

“I have to get back to work but I will spend some time with you after my shift finishes. I can’t wait to get to know you better,” the doctor told her. He gave her a chaste k**s on her cheek before getting up and walking out, glancing over his shoulder briefly as he left.

“He seems nice,” June commented once the door had closed behind him. Ellie smiled and started to tell us about what the doctor was telling her as he whispered into her ear a few moments ago. I am sure that it was all very interesting but I was having great difficulty focusing on her words.

Talen had come up behind me and he was now standing so close to me that I could feel his e******n pressing into my rear end. His hands were gripping my h**s tightly, holding me in place as he held me against his body.

‘I like it when you take charge like that.’ Talen told me over mind link.

“You don’t need us here, do you?” Grayson asked. His voice was husky and I could feel his desire though our bond. Ezra’s eyes shot up at the sound of Grayson’s voice. He took one look at me and rolled his eyes.

“No, you can go,” he replied. Talen let out a small growl and started walking me towards the exit. He kept his arms around me as we passed through the empty corridors of the hospital. His hand gripped my h*p tightly, he wanted me just as much as I wanted him. Our room felt so far away and I didn’t want to have to wait any longer.

I pulled my mates down one of the abandoned corridors and into one of the rooms. There was nobody in this section of the hospital but we would have to stay quiet or someone would find us. Just the thought of getting caught was enough to send chills of excitement through my body.

As soon as I closed the door behind us Talen came up behind me and took hold of my h**s. He pulled me towards him as Grayson came up in front of me and pressed his lips against mine. His tongue explored my mouth as his hands made their way down my body.

“I didn’t think there was anyone in this wing.” Someone outside of the room said, causing us to freeze. Footsteps were coming down the corridor towards us.

“Sh.t.” I mumbled as I started to adjust my clothes. Grayson and Talen were doing the same. They had just managed to make themselves presentable when a nurse opened the door to the room we were in.

“This is not what these rooms are for, you should be ashamed of yourselves.” She shouted before she took the time to look at who she was talking to. When her eyes landed on Grayson her whole face went three shades whiter.

“Oh my goddess. I am so sorry alpha, I didn’t know it was you. I didn’t mean to be so disrespectful.” She babbled.

“It’s fine, it won’t happen again.” Grayson told her as we walked past her on the way out of the room. Once we made it down the corridor and round the corner I couldn’t hold my laughter in any longer. That poor woman almost saw a lot more than she bargained for.
