Chapter Chapter Fifty-Four
[Orion’s POV]
I know a lot of time has passed since I was taken from my Mates but I am not sure how much. I know it was enough to almost put me down for good and then enough time for me to somewhat regain my abilities. Diego has been keeping me under lock and key, unable to do anything other than stay inside this damn room. I have been feeling better each day since he let Rain come back to me, and soon I was going to be leaving this hell. I could just feel it in my very soul. I felt a small tug on my Mate Bond and I knew my boys were coming for me. I was not going to just lay down and let this monster keep me away from my Mates.
I heard the door behind me open and Diego’s scent hit me like a smack in the face. I was really beginning to loathe this man more than I have ever hated Cilla. I feel the side of the bed dip as he sits next to me. His fingers trail along my side as he tries to coax me into turning around. Well, it didn’t happen any other day why in the fuck would I change my mind now? I was never going to give in to this Demon and his wishes.
“Come now, my sweet little Wolf. I have done nothing to harm you.” Diego said, almost making me scoff, yeah this time mother fucker, “I have taken good care of you while you have been here, yet you do not even look at me. Why?” he asks me. His voice seems sad and it pulled a little at me. It was the one thing I truly hated about myself. If anyone sounded like they had a real problem I felt like I had to help them. I felt like I could help them because I had a healing hand. However, Diego was a Demon. This man had nothing to heal. Nothing to save. Nothing to redeem. I was beyond trying.
The sad thing was that I knew he was lonely and craved attention, but he had no right to steal me from my Mates. All he had wanted was his life back that had been taken from him but I was the one who was suffering for his loneliness. I was not going to let him use me, I was not going to stand for his evil ways. I was not going to give in to him at any point. I was never going to betray myself or my Mates. The ones who saved me and will save me again. I could have done it myself but I had no power. I could barely talk to my own Wolf and it was pissing me off. Rain was struggling to stay awake every day and we had barely any strength. Diego was doing something to me. He was using some type of spell or poison to control how much my body could do and it was more than pissing me the fuck off. How could anyone be able to control me like this?! I should be immune to almost everything!! This Demon was somehow controlling my Divine Wolf!!
I pulled away from him, getting a grumble from him, “You stole me from my home. Who could ever want someone who takes what is not his!!” I cried out trying to push him away from me for the thousandth time today. I wanted nothing to do with him and the longer he kept me here the more I was going to suffer. If only I had just let him kill me. I would have been just fine, my mother would have come to save me, but I had been too worried about what it would have done to my Mate Bond. I could never lose them. Jax and Jace were everything to me and I would never let them go. My heart could not let me. I could never be without them and having to do so for goddess knows how long, was literally killing me. My life was slowly fading away and it was because I could not reach my Mates and could barely reach my Wolf.
Diego sighed as he came closer to me again, “But you are mine little Wolf. You were always meant to be only mine. It was written in the stars.” Diego said, his eyes intent on me, his voice dripping with honey covered malice. From the first few days of him keeping his distance to him practically stalking me every moment he could, I had come to the end of my sanity with this Demon. He couldn’t keep himself from touching some part of me and every time he did, I felt sick to my very core. His touch was like poison to me. Burning my skin whenever he decided to touch me for too long.
I growled at him and quickly moved to the other side of the bed. I hated this man. He was the worst thing in this world and I couldn’t wait to get my power back so that I could tear him apart like I did Cilla. I knew the chain around my right leg was my issue and it was hindering my Magics. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it off because it burned me every time I moved, it was made from pure silver and every time I touched it, it burned and sizzled my skin.
I pushed at his reaching hands as I moved away from him again. “You were never meant for me!!” I shouted harshly as I tried to get off the bed. I hated that I was chained by a shorter chain. I was only able to reach the edge of the bed now and it was the worst thing ever. He was determined to get me to be his and that was just never going to happen. I could never fall for his tricks. He was never going to fool me.
“Why do you insist on denying me, little Wolf?” Diego questioned his voice softer as he moved to the other side so he could look at me. He was looking at me calmly and I knew he was about to hit me, it showed in his eyes. “If you would just accept me, you would feel the sparks and know that I am telling you the truth.” he said as he placed his hand on my face gently. He was trying so hard and it was never going to work. He could beat me bloody and I was never going to love this monster.
I moved again, I wanted him away from me and this was the only way to do that. Keep moving from one side of the bed to the other. I could see his eyes spark in anger from my movements and I knew he was about to strike me for moving again when suddenly alarms sounded outside. Sirens blaring loudly all around the building letting everyone know something was going on.
Diego stopped and looked up as a man came running into the room, his head bowed, making sure to keep his eyes on the floor, “Master Diego, there are two Wolves on the property.” he said getting a terrible growl from Diego. I quickly moved to the other side again. I didn’t want to be anywhere close to him when he went off.
Diego was already on his feet ready to leave but he was not done with me just yet, “Get the guards out! Attack them!! I want them off of my TERRITORY NOW!!!” Diego roared before turning back to me, an evil glint in his eyes. He didn’t even bother to come closer to me this time. “We will see if it is those mutts of yours precious little Wolf. If it, is I will return with their heads for you. Then you will see that you are meant to be mine. I will prove to you my strength to keep you safe from anyone.” he sneered before leaving with the other man, slamming the door behind him with anger.
I screamed out my frustration, trying to leap from the bed to reach the door only to be yanked back by the silver around me. I growled out in anger. I HATED being chained up and held down like this. I wanted to get up and run out to the door. I wanted to leave this hell and never look back I was beyond done with all of this. I wanted it all to burn away and forget it all.
‘Calm down Orion. It’s the boys. They will come get us.’ Rain said as he came to lay at the forefront of my mind. He was disoriented but he could still sense our boys just outside. He was letting me feel them as well but it was so faint, our Bond holding strong but barely there because I was slowly fading away.
I knew he was trying to keep me calm but all I wanted to do was break free and go to my Mates. ‘I need to run. I need to get to them. It’s been too long Rain. We can’t go much longer without them. We are dying.’ I said back in reply getting a whimper from him. I struggled against the chains more and more, getting burns and deep cuts from the silver. I could hear sounds of fighting outside and knew my boys had gotten past all the other guards and into the inner compound.
The door burst open and Diego came running in, out of breath and sweating harshly, he was not the same as usual. He was disheveled for the first time since I had come here. I smiled to myself; my boys were giving him a run for his fucking money. Good, the bastard deserved it. Diego rounded on me and snarled angrily before flashing to me, his eyes a deep red as he backhanded me to the end of my chain.
“You will pay for this little Wolf!! I will kill your Twins and then I will take what is MINE from you!!” he shouted at me as he stalked towards me again. Sounds of fighting from downstairs rang through the door as Diego snarled again. “You were always meant to be mine!!” he screamed at me before getting on top of me, wrapping his hands around my neck and gripping tightly, my air began to fade from my lungs as I started to see black spots in my vision.
This asshole was going to kill me right here with my Mates right there trying to save me and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do. I was too weak, even with my weak struggles I couldn’t shake this monster from me. He was just too powerful and he had somehow blocked Rain from me. I had been on the brink of death to begin with and with his grubby hands around my throat he was just bringing my death closer.
Suddenly two sets of angry primal sounding growls filled the air before I could pull air back into my lungs again. I did so greedily as I struggled to upright myself. I watched as Jax and Jace came barreling into the room, their faces holding a look of rage that I could not truly identify. I knew they would come for me. I never thought they had forgotten me for a moment. I knew my Mates would turn the entire world upside down to search for me. Even Jace. I had doubted him for so long in the beginning that I had never thought that I could ever be truly loved by him but he had proven me wrong so many times that I could never doubt him. We had gone through some crap and we had a long way to go to reach a good place but we would get there and I knew we would.
Jax and Jace fought against Diego right in front of me, neither side gaining the upper hand as they tore into each other. I was so worried for my Mates but they were just about to take Diego down when the bastard decided to jump out the open window. He knew he was not going to win against the twins and he was going to cut his losses before they took his life. I could instantly feel my connection to Rain return, his strength returning quickly as I took in more air, it was filled with the scents of my Mates. I looked over to them, both Jax and Jace looked so fierce in my eyes. So much like the Alphas they were, they were breathing harshly and covered in blood, but to me they looked hot as fuck. They ran over to me and quickly broke the chains holding me down. They both pulled me into them and I was a crying mess I was so fucking happy.
“You found me!!” I cried happily, wrapping myself around them weakly. Rain may have gotten most of his strength back with Diego’s disappearance but I have not just yet.
“Of course, we found you baby boy.” Jax whispered against my neck, his breath tickling a little.
“We never would have stopped searching for you until we did.” Jace added, from the other side of my neck.
They had buried themselves in my neck, inhaling my scent instantly. I smiled and wrapped my arms around them as they held me against them. I had missed this feeling. The feeling of being surrounded by warmth and strength, the feeling of home.
I snuggled into them just a little more, needing them to just hold me, but even more than that I needed to shower and eat. “Let’s go home.” I said getting agreement from them before Jax picked me up and we hurried from Diego’s burning house.
