Mate ...s ?!?!

Chapter Chapter Fifty-Five

Four Months Later

[Jace’s POV]

When we got back with Orion things finally settled down and the three of us were able to get back to fixing us. We were able to finally get into a relationship worthy of our Pack. We were able to fix things between the three of us and get into a routine. Something that was best for us and had made everyone else very shocked at our progress. Having stabilized our relationship our father decided that it was time to pass down the rank of Alpha of the Pack to Jax and I, making us the new Leaders of the Windsong Pack. He had confessed that he had missed his own Mate very much and that being Alpha meant having a lot of responsibility. Jax and I had been afraid that taking over was going to take away from Orion but so far, we have been able to balance everything perfectly. It has been a very smooth transition for everyone.

Cassie became the new Lead Beta, with a lot of protest from some people but everyone settled when Reddas took her under his wing. Orion’s Lunos ceremony was beautiful. He was as graceful as any other Luna before him, making everyone more than proud to call him their Lunos. My own mother had been in tears by the end of everything. After the Alpha ceremony and the Lunos Ceremony the three of us spent three weeks alone together and we have been able to get in a much better place with not only ourselves but the Pack as well. During our ‘honeymoon’ Orion insisted that we stay at the Pack so that we could go around and just talk to everyone. They had needed to know about their new leaders and it had turned out to be a great idea. During the day we had spent time in the Packgrounds and at night the three of us were locked in our rooms making endless love to each other. Showing our love to each other with our bodies.

This morning we all got a shock when Orion threw up all of his breakfast right after he had eaten all of it. He had not been sick nor running a fever so, now currently Jax, Orion and myself are sitting in the infirmary waiting for blood tests to come back. I can see that Orion is nervous and I know that Jax and I are too but none of us can move at the moment. We can’t say anything to something we have no answers for. Until the test results come back in none of us have any words.

My mother was the one to suggest the visit and her reasoning had the three of us more than pale. It was possible. Orion was still technically an Omega.

When Hayle came back in the room we all looked up at him. “Don’t look so excited.” Hayle said as he sat down with some papers in his hands. Still shuffling through them, examining them closely.

“Don’t play games cousin.” Jax growled out.

I moved closer to Orion and he moved closer to me. It was just a natural thing for the two of us when Jax got irritated. “I’m not Alpha. The Lunos is pregnant.” Hayle announced, getting Orion to gasp and both Jax and I to freeze in our spots.

Pregnant. Our little Orion was carrying a pup.

“The Lunos is four weeks along and should be just fine during the entire thing. Nothing has shown to be abnormal.” Hayle said as he continued to tell us about Orion’s pregnancy. I know I should be paying attention but I think I was shell shocked still.

He began to ramble and I knew I was not paying attention. I was looking at Orion. He was in shock. His hands were placed on his stomach as he stared at them. I wanted to hold him and tell him how excited I was but I could sense his feelings of fear and uncertainty about this news.

We let Hayle finish he speech before we took the prenatal vitamins from him and left the infirmary. Jax and I took Orion back up to our room and locked our door. Turning back around I saw Orion had gone to the bed to crawl in and hide in the blankets. I could feel his torrent of emotions and I felt sad for him, he didn’t know how to handle this. My poor little star.

“Little star, what is going through your mind?” I asked as I made my way over to him with concern.

A soft squeak met me as I sat down and I shook my head as Jax sat on the other side. “Orion, baby boy talk to us.” Jax said softly, reaching to place his hand on the mound that was our Mate. Coaxing him to us, we usually let him think for himself but this was not something he could do alone.

We could hear his little whimper from under the blankets before he wiggled his way from under the blankets. “How are we going to handle this? This is not like me slipping into little space!! It is a real-life crawling pup!” he asked us in a soft voice. Tears were streaming down his face, he looked so scared. He had been doing so well since we got him home and now this is happening. Our little Mate had no idea how to handle this life-changing event. He was not dealing with this very well either.

“Oh, sweet little star. We will handle this like we have done everything thing else,” Jax said his voice a soft cooing sound, as I gently pulled Orion from under the blankets to cuddle him against my chest.

“Together.” I finished as Jax pulled us both into his lap.

Orion giggled as he nuzzled my chest and gripped Jax’s hand tightly. “The two of you are something else. This is not just some disagreement between the three of us. This is not some random thing coming into our lives and then leaving again. This is a living breathing pup on the way. We will need to care for them and teach them right from wrong. Are we really ready for that?” Orion questioned, his hands going to his stomach, almost protectively.

“It does not matter what it is my little star, we are still going to figure it all out together, Orion. This is something we will not back down from and not hide from. We will be the best daddies there are and nothing is going to stop that.” I said holding him close. “You wait and see, the three of us will be better than anyone around. Our pup will be the best behaved one of them all.” I said getting another giggle from Orion and a light chuckle from Jax

Jax reached around me to lay his hands-on Orion’s gently. “This is our pup as well and we will do whatever it takes to keep you and them safe.” he said as we kissed Orion’s cheeks. “You will never have to worry about anything, little one. You should know that by now. We have a pup coming but that does not mean you will not be any less spoiled or loved.” Jax added, nuzzling into Orion’s neck where his Mark was.

He giggled and leaned back more into me as we cuddled in the bed. “All right. We will get through anything together.” Orion said as he yawned and drifted off to sleep in my arms. I smiled leaned into Jax, the three of us settling in for a nap.
