Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Belen was now gripped by fear. With Eileen’s sudden return to the country, if the truth about that night ever surfaced, Belen could lose everything in an instant and be back to
square onc.
‘No, I absolutely cannot let that happen,’ she thought with resolve.
After dinner, Winston personally drove her back to her villa. As she got out of the car, she coyly invited him in. “Winston, would you like to come in for a cup of coffee?”
“No, I have work to attend to.”
“But I’m scared to be alone. I wish you could stay with me.” Belen immediately played her cards, feigning fear.
“I’ll have Lydia come over to keep you company,” Winston said, reaching for his phone.
“No, that’s okay. I just wanted you.” She insisted.
“I have work to deal with. Maybe next time,” Winston said gently. “Rest well. Good night.”
Belen was internally disappointed, but she couldn’t push further against Winston’s gentleness and nodded reluctantly. “Alright then.”
Watching Winston’s car drive away, she bit her l*p, feeling a flutter in her heart. How she longed to be held and cherished by him!
‘In the future, I must seduce him completely. I want to be the woman envied by everyone in the country.
Another beautiful day dawned.
Eileen was scheduled to accompany Isabela on a store visit. The day passed quickly, and she left work early at 4:30 pm to take her son to meet her father.
At the Norman’s home…
Since Tyree had informed them earlier, Caitlyn instructed the serv ants to prepare dinner, ignoring Eileen’s favorite dishes and focusing solely on her daughter’s preferences.
“Mrs. Norman, Mr. Norman mentioned that Miss Norman likes shrimp. Should I prepare some?” a ser vant asked.
“Yes, but make it as spi cy as possible. Let’s see how that little wretch handles it,” Caitlyn said angrily.

The ser vant promptly carried out the order while Caitlyn seethed with irritation. Over the years, Tyree’s wealth had soared with the company going public, and the family assets were nearing 20 million dollars. Caitlyn suspected that Eileen’s return was a calculated move to charm her husband and claim a share of the family fortune.
much.”
As long as I’m here, she can forget about it, Caitlyn thought determinedly.
“Mom, is Eileen coming for dinner?” Brittany stormed in, visibly angry.
Caitlyn nodded. “Your father insisted on having her over. I couldn’t say
“It’s been five years. I wonder how she’s been getting by.” Brittany scoffed.
“What good could come of it? She left at 19 without finishing college. I bet she’s back. because she’s failed and now wants a piece of the inheritance.” Caitlyn huffed.
“Mom, you can’t let her take what’s mine. Everything that Dad has belongs to me,” Brittany stated confidently.
“Of course, she won’t get a cent,” Caitlyn affirmed resolutely.
“I need to freshen up and change into my new dress,” said Brittany before heading upstairs, determined to show Eileen who the favorite in the Norman family was now.
In a taxi heading to the Norman’s home, Eileen was instructing her son on how to behave this evening. The little boy, bright and sensible, nodded earnestly.
Eileen hugged him and k*ssed his forehead. “You are such a good boy.”
It pained her heart. Most children were their parents’ treasures, but her son had to face a cold welcome in his grandfather’s home.
Tyree had also returned early from work, eagerly waiting at the door for his daughter, who had been missing for five years.
At last, a taxi came by, and he hurried over as it came to a halt.
As a slender figure stepped out of the car, he thought, ‘Is that my daughter Eileen?”
But then, to his shock, a little boy about four or five years old jumped out after her. ‘Why does Eileen have a young boy with her? Could it be… he wondered in disbelief. Eileen, seeing her father, noticed how he had aged over the years. This realization made. her more understanding of the past and guilty for not contacting him all these years.
“Dad, I’m back,” she said, walking up to him with her son. Then she turned to her son, saying, “Sean, say hello to Grandpa.”
Chapter 8
“Hi, Grandpa,” Sean called out sweetly, lifting his little head.
“Grandpa?” Tyree was taken aback hearing this title, looking at Eileen. “This is… my grandson? You have a child?”
“Yes, Dad. His name is Sean Norman, my son, and he is three and a half years old now.” Eileen adjusted her son’s age slightly to prevent Brittany from calculating his actual birth date.
“He’s this tall at three and a half?” Tyree was in disbelief, marveling at his handsome grandson.
“Yes!” Eileen smiled.
“And where’s his father?” Tyree quickly inquired.
“I raised him alone. His father and I aren’t living together.” She explained it as best as she could.
“Grandpa, I live with only Mommy,” Sean added.
Tyree’s eyes reddened with emotion, realizing that his daughter had been raising a child alone abroad, while he, as a grandfather, hadn’t been there to help and had even driven her out of the house five years ago.
“It’s my fault, it’s all my fault, Eileen. Forgive me. I will make it up to you.” Tyree’s heart. was filled with guilt.
“There’s no need, Dad. Sean and I are doing well.” Eileen didn’t want her father to feel guilty.
“Come inside! Sean, let Grandpa hold you,” Tyree said, then bent down to pick up his grandson, noticing how well-fed and sturdy he was. And those facial features… simply adorable.
He was the most beautiful child he had ever seen.
Eileen followed her father into the villa’s hall, where Caitlyn was taken aback to see her husband carrying a little boy. She quickly asked in surprise, “Tyree, whose child is this? “Caitlyn, this is Eileen’s son. She returned with my grandson,” Tyree announced with a mix of excitement and joy, and more importantly, it was a boy.
Although Tyree didn’t believe that one should have a preference for sons over daughters, he had always harbored a sense of regret over not having a son. Now, hist daughter’s son had become the apple of his eye, a continuation of his own bloodline.
“What?” Caitlyn was utterly shocked. This little boy is Eileen’s child from abroad?’
Chapter 8
“Aunt Caitlyn.” Eileen greeted her neutrally.
“Oh! You’ve been gone for five years and now you’ve returned with a child, not even a word about it.” Caitlyn feigned enthusiasm, needing to put on a show in front of her husband.
“And who is the child’s father? Didn’t he come back with you?”
“Caitlyn, Eileen is raising the child alone.” Tyree quickly intervened to prevent any further inappropriate questions.
Caitlyn instantly understood. ‘Eileen came back to claim her share of the inheritance and brought an extra helper, deliberately having a son to demand a bigger portion.’ She noted Tyree’s fondness for the little boy, suspecting that he might end up allocating more to them in the future.
“Oh, is that so! How noble, being a single mother!” Caitlyn’s tone was laced with mocking sarcasm.
The little boy sensed the insincerity and looked at Caitlyn, asking, “Who are you?”
Caitlyn glared at him. “Come on, call me Grandma.”
The little boy asked loudly, “Why should I call you Grandma? Mommy said my grandma is no longer alive.” Children’s intuition is often the purest; they can instantly discern whether someone is good or bad.
“Oh! This child doesn’t even know how to address others, how impolite! Eileen, you should teach him better. How will he grow up to be a decent person?” Caitlyn red.
“My son doesn’t need your concern,” Eileen retorted sharply.
