Forgive us

The paramedics stabilised Macey and she was loaded into the back of the ambulance. She would be transported to the hospital with the police following the ambulance. "I'll ride with her" Asher spoke up. "No, she doesn't trust you. I'll go" Johan commented. He felt responsible for what had gone down. He should have known something was up with the new girl. Officer Upton stepped in and denied both parties from travelling in the ambulance and offered to take them both there with her.

Asher immediately agreed and Johan said he would take his car so that when Macey was discharged he could take her home. He hoped that she would be allowed home tomorrow and then he would have her move in with him while she healed. He didn't realise the extent of Macey's injuries.

Johan headed to his car and went to jump in. He knew he needed to get to the hospital fast. Officer Upton knew he wouldn't get through and that he shouldn't be driving. "Johan you shouldn't be driving. The road is closed and you won't get through" she told him. "Why is the road closed?" Jeff asked. Upton looked towards Asher, it was time she told him.

Officer Upton and Johan walked to the police car where Asher was waiting with Upton's partner. "Asher, I called you earlier because I need to inform you about the accident that we will be passing on our way to the hospital. I regret to inform you, that your brother Tyler Brynes was involved in a motor vehicle accident. There were no survivors. I am so sorry" Upton told Asher. Asher was shocked, at this point he wanted to kill Tyler for what he had done to his sister but he was in an accident. To hear he was dead though, he didn't know how to feel.

Asher nodded his head and waited to be let into the car. "I need to get to my sister" Asher responded, he would deal with his brother's death later. Upton nodded in understanding but she needed to know if they knew the driver of the vehicle. "We are yet to identify the driver. Would you know who the female in the car was at all?" Upton asked as they all got into the police car. Asher had no idea at all so he shook his head no. "It could be Renee she disappeared at the same time as Macey" Johan responded. "Last name?" Upton's partner asked. "Ask Jeff she had a trial shift tonight" Johan replied.

Jeff and Greg had headed back to the bar after the police car and ambulance had driven off. The other staff had started clearing everyone out as it was now time for the bar to close. "Can I get your attention please?" Jeff called to the remaining workers in the bar. Everyone walked over to Jeff standing in front of him, they were all concerned about Macey, especially Raph and Cherry.

Once everyone was there Jeff began. "As you know Macey went missing tonight. She was found near the industrial rubbish bins. She was badly beaten. She has been rushed to hospital after they had to put a tube in her lung. It looks like her brother used Renee to lure her outside and then attacked her. I'm not sure how she is but I'll be heading to the hospital once we close. I will keep you up to date on her condition when I know more" Jeff called out.

Cherry sobbed, she had told Macey to talk to her brothers. She felt responsible for what had happened. Raph pulled Cherry into a hug "Hey it's not your fault" Raph told the girl. Cherry, Raph, Macey and Johan had become close the last few weeks. "I'll take you to the hospital if you like" Raph offered earning a nod from Cherry. She wanted to be there for Johan and Macey.

When Asher and Johan got to the hospital they both raced into the emergency department. Macey had been taken through the back and was being assessed by the doctors. They needed to find out how bad her lung was and what other injuries the girl had sustained. They had no information on her just her name and age and hoped her family would be here soon to give them more details.

Asher headed to the counter and asked for his sister. "And you are?" The woman asked. "I'm her brother. Can I see her please?" Asher asked getting irritated. "The doctor will be out shortly they are just with her now" the woman told him. Asher and Johan headed to sit down. Both were blaming themselves for the state of Macey and hoping she was ok.

Thirty minutes after they arrived, Jeff, Cherry and Raph arrived and headed over to the pair for an update. "Any news?" Jeff asked. Johan and Asher both shook their head no still watching the red door for any sign of life. They knew she was behind the red door but couldn't see anything. They all sat around in silence and joined in staring at the red door which led to the beds in the emergency department.

A female nurse walked out of the red doors which caused the group to sit up taller. "Macey Turner" she called. "Yes," Johan and Asher stated standing up. The nurse walked over to the group. "Hi I am Amy, I'm one of the nurses looking after Macey tonight" the nurse introduced herself. Everyone nodded their heads in understating before Asher asked "How is she?" The nurse took a breath, "She is stable. We have a we questions which will help with her care if that's ok?" Amy asked. Asher nodded his head.

"Ok, and you are?" Amy asked. "I'm Asher her older brother, that's Johan her boyfriend and these are her workmates" Asher introduced. "OK, are you alright with everyone hearing this?" The nurse asked. "Yes" Asher replied. They had more right to hear this than he did. From what he had learnt in the last few weeks, these people cared and looked out for Macey. Amy began the questions mainly about medical history and allergies before filling them all in on what they had found so far.

Macey had broken ribs which had punched her lung. She had bruising to 95% of her body, she had gravel rash on her knees and hands. She had a fractured cheekbone and busted lip as well. Plus she had a concussion. The nurse assured them she would make a full recovery in time but would be spending about a week in the hospital due to her punctured lung. Macey was currently unconscious still and they were waiting on the results from a CT scan.
