Finding Emery

"What question was that?" Doctor Bass asked amused that a girl who looked to be about four years old had made the leader of the underground apologise to one of his members. "Can you tell uncle Mikey that I already ate today and if I eat anymore my tummy will exploded. Are you sure you are a doctor mister doctor Bass? Maybe you are to old now, cause you are forgetting lots" Emery stated.

Doctor Bass clear his throat scared to upset the little girl who clearly was in control of the leader of the gang. "Doctor Bass just so you are aware, Emery has been on her own since uncle Marcus passed and has been eating what she could take every three days" Jasper stated. Doctor Bass frowned, that was not healthy at all. "You aren't suppose to tell, you snitch" Emery scolded Jasper.

"Emery, you need to eat every day. Not eating isn't healthy at all. You should have small amounts of food often" Doctor Bass stated. "Traitor" Emery squealed while pointing at the doctor. Doctor Bass gulped, he didn't know how Michael or Jasper for that matter would react at all. Emery was clearly upset at him but he had spoken the truth. Emery shouldn't be going days without food at all.

"See Emery, even the doctor agrees with me" uncle Mike stated. "Yeh but is he a real doctor? He forgot my question" Emery said exasperated at the fact things were not going her way. She was annoyed that every one was saying she had to eat more. She didn't like to steal the food so had taught her body not to require food all the time. Kody couldn't help but shake his head at Emery and the way she argued about everything. She always wanted to be right no matter what.

"Emery Quake, you will listen to the doctor and start to eat every day" Uncle Mike said firmly causing Emery to whine. "I can't steal food every day uncle Mikey, that's bad and I'll get caught" Emery whined out. "You won't have to steal Emmy because you will be staying here with your family. There is enough food here for you to be able to eat three meals a day for life" uncle Mike explained. "But I'm not staying here for life, I'm getting married remember?" Emery bit back.

Kody laughed again at Emery and how she took everything literally. "Hey mister Kody why are you laughing? I'm getting married and having babies when I'm 24, I won twice so that makes it real" Emery explained. "Well, Emery if you don't look after your body which includes eating properly, you will never be able to have babies" Doctor Bass stated. He knew he had to get Emery to agree to eat because forcing her wouldn't change her mindset. "Well why didn't you say that mister Doctor Bass" Emery cried out.

Uncle Mike smiled at Emery and now had an ace up his sleeve to get her to cooperate. She clearly wanted to have children and he would use that to his advantage when it came to getting Emery to look after herself. More importantly he would use that to get her to allow them to look after her. She had been on her own long enough and she had witnessed more things in her life then a lot of adults had.

"How about I do a check up on Miss Emery while I'm here and then we can work out a plan to reintroduce her to eating properly?" Doctor Bass asked. "I think I would like a really real doctor Mister Doctor Bass" Emery stated. She didn't really want a check up because that could involve needles and she didn't like those at all. Taz and Chased laughed at what Emery had said as she had smiled sweetly at Doctor Bass while basically insulting him. "Emery, Bass here is your doctor and he will be giving you a check up" uncle Mike told Emery.

Uncle Mike went to lay Emery on the couch but she clung to him. Uncle Mike stood up looking at Emery who was smiling at him. "Emery you need to lay on the couch so Doctor Bass can give you a check up" uncle Mike said. Emery shook her head no because she didn't want a check up. "Emery" uncle Mike began before Emery cut him off "Michael" Emery mocked. "Damn she has grandmas voice" Seb muttered.

"Hey, baby would you like me to hold you while the doctor has a look at you?" Chase asked his younger sister. Emery had always hated the doctors according to his father so he wanted to offer her some comfort. Emery nodded her head slowly. She wasn't really sure what a check up was at all but if someone was going to hold her while it happened, then that had to be better then doing it alone.

Chase took his sister into his arms and sat down on the couch. Doctor Bass had got what he needed out of his bag and sat on the coffee table in front of Chase and Emery. "Ok Emery, do you know how old you are?" Doctor Bass asked. "Well I was four when daddy and I ran, then when daddy left it was about 10 sleeps after my birthday. Then I lost track of how many sleeps it's been since then" Emery explained. "She is 6 years old. Her birthday is March 21st" Chase explained to the doctor who nodded his head.

"Wait" Emery screamed. Everyone looked at Emery. "You mean to tell me I had two birthdays with no cake for breakfast?" Emery asked in all seriousness. "Yes sweetheart but we can make up for that later" uncle Mike stated. Emery pouted but nodded towards the doctor for him to continue. Doctor Bass started the check up explaining things as he went and asking questions, some her brothers and uncle answered and some Emery answered herself.

Once the check up was done, Doctor Bass wanted to speak to Michael without Emery present. "Emmy, the boys are going to take you to the kitchen to get you something to eat" Uncle Mike stated. "But I'm not hungry" Emery whined. "How about a strawberry smoothie?" Kody asked. He remembered how she use to love those when she was here last. "Yes, mister Kody I am going to marry you when I'm 24" Emery stated before getting up off the couch and walking over to Kody. Emery took Kody's hand and smiled up at the man. All the Quake's were glaring at the man especially after Emery declared she would marry him. Kody smiled down at the little girl and headed into the kitchen to make her a smoothie with the grumpy boys following close behind.
