Finding Emery

Doctor Bass cleared his throat once Emery was out of sight trying to gain the attention of Michael Quake but he too was glaring at Kody after Emery declared she would marry him. "What?" Michael snapped at the man, he was the most feared gang leader in Sydney and he would remind them all of that. When his princess wasn't around of course. "Boss, I wanted to talk to you about Miss Emery" the doctor rushed out seeing how angry Michael looked.

Michael sat on the couch before barking out "speak". All the remaining members who were in the room stiffened and slightly lowered their heads in respect to Michael. "Right, well she is under weight which I'm sure you could tell yourself" doctor Bass began causing Michael to nod his head. Any idiot could see that Emery was tiny and that her ribs were on full display. When her shirt was lifted you could also see every bone in her spine. "She needs to start eating small meals often, but forcing her to eat may make things worse. I would suggest a multivitamin which include iron as she may be anaemic" the doctor continued.

Michael nodded towards the doctor in understanding. "I want to suggest a high fat and high protein diet for Emery. Adding protein powder to smoothies and using full fat products like milk and cheese. Without a healthy diet she is at higher risk of medical complications" Doctor Bass continued. "Right, you go out and get what is needed for my niece" Michael stated while pointing to Jules who was in the room. Jules nodded her head and left the room. "Anything else Bass?" Michael asked. "Well Boss, we aren't sure what she has been through at all so she could have lasting mental affects. It may be beneficial for her to speak to someone. Also she should be in school" the doctor rushed out.

Michael glared at the doctor, he just found his niece and he didn't want to be sending her to school at all. "Why does she need school?" Michael grumbled out. Was it childish? Absolutely but he didn't want her away from him at all, she was the last connection to his brother besides his nephews and she was the only girl born into the family. He wanted to keep her safe in this house especially after the fact that she had been missing for two years. "Boss, every child needs to go to school. Besides she will be at school with the other kids who are in your gang that can watch out for her" Tristan stated. He was one of the workers at the school in charge of protecting the kids of Quake's gang.

Michael was lost in thought before he nodded and headed towards the kitchen wanting to spend some time with his niece. Just before he left the living room he spoke up. "She will start term 3. Make it happen Tristan. I am trusting you to keep my princess safe" he spat out. Tristan immediately responded "yes Boss" he knew that if anything happened to Emery now he would be blamed.

When Michael got to the kitchen Emery was sitting on Kody's lap while drinking her smoothie. "Emmy come sit with me baby" uncle Mike stated with clear warning in his voice. He didn't like her near the male species especially when they weren't related to her. Emery shook her head no, she was happy to sit with Kody because he made her the best strawberry smoothie she had had, since her daddy last made her one of course. All the Quake males were glaring at Kody who was happy Emery was protecting him from the fall out. Kody wasn't stupid, he knew that if Emery wasn't around he would be in trouble.

"Princess Emery, I think your uncle Mike wants a hug from you" Kody said trying to encourage the little girl to go to her uncle seeing his glare. Emery sighed, she wasn't happy about this at all. "You won't marry someone else mister Kody?" She asked him. Kody had to stop himself laughing at the girl who was so serious with her question. He shook his head no while smiling at the girl before she got off Kody's lap and went over to her uncle.

Uncle Mike scooped up the little girl and placed her carefully on his lap. His smug smirk directed at his nephews and sons while they looked on shocked was so unlike his usual character. They had tried to get Emery to sit with them before uncle Mike had come into the kitchen but she had refused to. "So baby, I spoke to the doctor and we have a plan for you to get big and strong. He also wants you to go to school. So in four weeks when term three starts, you will be going to big school. Is that ok with you?" Uncle Mike asked.

Emery wanted to go to school, she liked playing with people her own age and hadn't done that in a long time. She still knew how to write her name and the letters because she had learnt that before she and her daddy had to run. Emery nodded her head at uncle Mike just as the other Quake men began to protest. "She isn't going to school, she is a baby" Chase screeched out. "Dad she isn't old enough for school" Seb yelled. "Uncle Mike, she isn't ready for that, we just found her" Taz stated trying to be the voice of reason. "Dad is it safe?" Jasper asked which caused all eyes to snap towards him.

Uncle Mike glared at his eldest son, how could he think that he would send his princess to school if it was not safe for her. "Tristan is personally responsible for her safety at school. She is 6 years old and should be in year one. I will make sure she is in a class that is taught by a member" Michael told them all firmly making sure they knew it was not up for discussion. "Emery, there will be rules though" uncle Mike added looking at the little girl on his lap who was rubbing her stomach groaning after finishing half her smoothie. Emery just nodded getting sleepy now her stomach was full. "Go to sleep princess" uncle Mike whispered while bringing her into his chest.
