Finding Emery

Uncle Mike shook his head and continued to head downstairs. Things would have to change dramatically for Emery and he knew it would take time for her to adjust. "Emery we are going to get you eating properly. You need to be eating three times a day every day. That way you will grow big and strong" Uncle Mike stated. The boys followed them out of the room and down the stairs stopping when they spotted the doctor waiting in the living room. "But uncle Mikey, I already ate" Emery whined.

"Uncle Mike the doctor is here" Taz stated causing uncle Mike to head into the living room rather than the kitchen. "Emery this is Doctor Bass and he will tell you that you need to eat every day at least three times a day" uncle Mike stated. Emery looked at the man who looked older than her daddy and her uncle. His hair was all white and he had wrinkles around his eyes.

"Hey mister doctor, are you really a doctor?" Emery asked. Doctor Bass smiled at the girl "yes I'm really a doctor" he stated. "Like really really?" Emery asked again. "Yes" doctor Bass chuckled. "Well, where's your doctor things?" Emery asked while crossing her arms in front of her chest and glaring at the man. Doctor Bass held up his medical bag earning a nod from Emery in approval. The Quake's couldn't help but smile at the little girl who was trying to be intimidating but failing and looking very cute in the process.

"Ok mister doctor" Emery began only to be cut off by Doctor Bass saying "it's doctor Bass". "Ok mister doctor Bass, that name is to long but anyway. Can you tell uncle Mikey that I already ate today and that if I eat anymore my tummy will explode" Emery stated while waving her arms around. Doctor Bass smiled at the girl. "Well, I'm here to see a patient sorry umm" Doctor Bass said not knowing the little girls name.

"Bass, this is my niece Emery, she took off from the hospital this morning after hitting her head. Then when we caught up to her this afternoon she passed out" uncle Mike stated. Doctor Bass nodded his head and gestures to the couch so he could examine his patient. "Wait" Emery screamed out as uncle Mike walked towards the couch stopping everyone from moving further into the living room. Emery smiled and tried to make herself smaller when everyone looked at her including people she had not seen before.

"What's wrong Emmy? Are you scared?" Taz asked his sister. Emery shook her head no, she wasn't scared but she wanted mister doctor Bass to answer her question. "Mister Doctor Bass, you need to answer me. Can you tell uncle Mikey that I already ate today ...." Emery started only to be cut off by the new people laughing at her.

"Hey mister with the nose earring, whatcha laughing at huh?" Emery asked while glaring at the man with the nose ring. He shook his head at the little girl, he remembered her from when she had stayed at the house while her parents were in rehab. She had everyone wrapped around her little finger then and he was sure she would again now. "Welcome back Princess Emery" the man with the nose ring said while he bowed at the little girl.

"Uncle Mikey he thinks I'm a princess" Emery gasped at the man causing him and the Quake's to laugh at her again. "His names is Kody Emmy and you use to play princess with him when you stayed with us" uncle Mike explained. Emery nodded her head in understanding. She didn't remember when she had stayed with them but she guessed she did if this man with a nose earring knew her. "Hey mister Kody, can I have a nose earring too?" Emery asked while grinning at the man she now knew as Kody. She liked the sparkle in the earring and her daddy hadn't let her get her ears pierced even when Angel did at her pre school.

"No" all the Quake's screamed at once, they did not want Emery to have anything pierced at all. Emery pouted at them all, she was not happy at all. Kody had a smirk on his face, he knew these men were very protective of this little girl. "That's ok Mister Kody we can do it later" Emery whispered yelled thinking the others wouldn't hear her and tried to wink at him. Kody burst out laughing and winked back at the little girl earning glares from all the Quake's in the process. "Kody there will be no holes in her body that weren't there before meeting you" Uncle Mike stated while pointing at the man. Kody nodded and stood straight after receiving a glare from Michael Quake, the boss of the gang.

"Don't you glare at my friend" Emery stated while glaring back at uncle Mike. The other people in the room were so shocked to see Emery talk back to Mike. "You need to say sorry" Emery continued while poking her finger into Mike's chest. "That wasn't very nice" she added. Everyone held their breath waiting for Mike to blow up at the little girl. No one and I mean no one ever spoke to Michael like that at all.

Emery waited for uncle Mike to say sorry but his lips were sealed shut. Emery knew she had to bring out the big guns and let her eyes fill with tears. Everyone including Kody was watching closely. Chase and Taz were ready to sweep in if uncle Mike really lost it and Jasper was waiting for the moment he would have to guard the door. All these boys had been on the receiving end of uncle Mike's rage and didn't think Emery would cope if she was.

Uncle Mike saw the tears form in Emery's eyes and he knew he couldn't stand to see her cry. He never could at all. He swallowed his pride and looked towards Kody who looked scared. "I'm sorry Kody" uncle Mike gritted out barely opening his mouth to speak. Kody nodded his head frantically at the apology while everyone else was shocked. "Nicer please" Emery stated.

"No no princess Emery, it's fine boss doesn't need to apologise" Kody rushed out. Michael nodded his head. "Fine, I'll let it go this time. Now Mister Doctor Bass answer my question please and thank you" Emery said while crossing her arms.
