Finding Emery

Bass came rushing back to the Quake house and quickly injected an anti nausea medication into Emery's catheter. He then stayed out of the way thankful he still had his life and all his fingers for the stuff up. "Bass stay on property but stay the fuck out of my sight" Michael barked which caused Emery to jump. "I'll just give her something for the headache she likely has, then I'll head to the staff quarters" Bass mumbled.

Once Bass left Bentley sat on the bed next to Emery wanting to introduce himself to the little girl. "Hi is it Princess Emery? My name is Bentley and I'm here to help get you feeling better. It looks like you had a nasty bump on your head and I think that's making you feel a bit funny and confused" Bentley gently spoke to Emery. Emery just looked at him, she wasn't suppose to talk to strangers her daddy told her that.

Taz and Chase couldn't help but laugh, Emery had spoken out loud again. "We aren't strangers Hunny, this is Bentley, our friend" Chase stated.

"Don't read my brain mister" Emery stated glaring at Chase. "He didn't, you spoke that out loud. Emery, I want you to follow my finger just with your eyes ok?" Bentley asked. He was concerned the little girl was not aware she was talking out loud.

"She does that occasionally, even before she had the bump on her head" uncle Mike stated. Emery eventually nodded her head when Bentley didn't take his eyes off her. Emery was able to follow Bentley's finger like she was told to which satisfied him. "Right, now we are going to get some food into you" Bentley told the little girl but she just shook her head no.

Jasper slipped out of the room and headed downstairs to get Emery some food. He got to work on making her a strawberry smoothie with added protein in it. He also cut up some cheese, avocado and carrot sticks, some twiggy sticks and also put some crackers and strawberries on the plate. As he headed upstairs he heard Bentley telling Emery she needed to eat and his father pleading with Emery to just eat something small.

Jasper headed over to the bed and sat down in front of Emery. She had gone to scream but quickly closed her mouth when she saw that Jasper was drinking a strawberry smoothie. She liked strawberry smoothies a lot and she was a little hungry. Emery watched Jasper as he ate some of her favourite things and her tummy grumbled. Emery blushed bright red embarrassed that everyone could her her stomach.

"Jasper won't don't you share with Emmy?" Uncle Mike asked getting annoyed with his eldest son. He had assumed that he had gone to get food for Emery but he had returned with food and drink which he was eating. "She doesn't want this stuff" Jasper shrugged. Emery frowned she did want the food but she didn't know how to ask. "You don't have to ask baby" Jasper told her.

Emery was hesitant but slowly reached her hands out to the strawberry smoothie. Emery held the smoothie on her hands and looked around the room feeling embarrassed about taking food from them. She knew they didn't want her and only felt sorry for her.

Uncle Mike had heard what Emery was mumbling to herself. He couldn't help himself and picked Emery up placing the little girl in his lap. He could feel how tense her little body was with his touch, but he wasn't going to let her go. "Emery Quake, you are so wanted and so loved. We didn't want to send you to Roberto's place but it wasn't safe for you here. We aren't letting you go ever. Now drink the smoothie before Jasper wants it back" Uncle Mike stated.

Emery took a small sip of the smoothie and looked at Jasper smiling at him when he nodded his head towards her to keep drinking. Emery thought that Jasper wanted some more so held the cup out for Jasper. "You have it hunny" Jasper stated causing Emery to frown. "I don't have cooties only boys have cooties, daddy said" Emery whispered.

Seb, Chase, Taz, Kody and Bentley laughed at Emery and how serious she was with her words. "Yeh boys have cooties" Jasper said nodding his head. Uncle Mike smiled at his niece shaking his head and her logic considering they were all technically boys in the family except for Emery.

Emery decided to try a little of the food that Jasper had on the plate. She liked the cheese and the avocado and crackers. She was also hungry and wanted more then some smoothie. Emery picked up a piece of cheese and began to nibble on it. Kody went to say something but Bentley covered his mouth with his hand and glared at the man. He knew making a comment about the food could make Emery stop eating.

Emery ate a piece of avocado and half the smoothie and then she was tired again. Her stomach was full and her head was starting to get sore again. Bentley seemed to notice and smiled at Emery. "You little princess need more rest" Bentley said softly. Emery didn't complain at all as she was struggling to keep her eyes open. Emery pulled Nix to her chest before laying her head on uncle Mike's chest and falling straight asleep.

Uncle Mike turned to Bentley worried that Emery had only been awake for just under two hours and was going back to sleep. "What's wrong with her? Why is she sleeping already?" Uncle Mike rushed out. "It's normal, her body is healing its self and she is recovering from a concussion. It also looks like her body is not use to a lot of food so while it seemed like a she ate nothing, that was a lot for her" Bentley answered. Uncle Mike nodded pulling Emery closer to him while being careful of the drip that was attached to Emery. He was happy she was back in his arms.
