Finding Emery

Emery couldn't help it, her bottom lip trembled as she looked at Uncle Mike and then to Jasper. She was sad, she felt all alone. "Hey hey, you aren't in trouble" Jasper rushed out. He didn't want to see Emery cry at all. None of the Quakes ever liked to see Emery cry.

Emery was blinking quickly to stop the tears starting again. She sniffed and rubbed her arm across her nose before bury her head into Nix. "Emmy baby, you are not in trouble. Please don't cry" uncle Mike said softly. They all assumed that she was going to cry because she thought that she would be in trouble. While they were angry she left, they just wanted her safe and she was safest with them. They would talk to her about that later when she wasn't so upset.

Emery tried to stop the tears starting but thinking how she would never see her daddy again made her feel so sad. "I miss daddy" Emery wailed and this began her crying again. Everyone frowned at Emery they felt bad for her. She had always assumed her daddy would come back for her. Taz held his sister to his chest wanting to offer comfort to the little girl. "Don't leave me Tazzy" Emery wailed. She was overwhelmed and tired and scared.

"I'm not leaving you Hunny" Taz assured his sister. Chase sat next to his siblings and he began to rub Emery's back wanting her to know he to, was here. Kody silently left the room realising this was a family situation and wanting to give them privacy. Jasper and Seb also moved closer to Emery wanting her to see she had people around her who cared and loved her.

Emery fell asleep crying, she had held on to Taz mumbling "don't leave me Tazzy" over and over again for a good thirty minutes. No one knew how to settle her except to reassure her that no one was leaving her. It was horrible to watch the little girl finally break down. Uncle Mike knew it would happen because she had had to survive on her own for so long especially being so young. And doctor Bass had informed him there would be some form of mental trauma from it all, especially because they assumed that she had witnessed her fathers death.

"Uncle Mike, how are we going to help her?" Chase asked when Emery was finally asleep. "We make sure she knows she is safe here and that we aren't leaving" Uncle Mike replied. He would also look at therapy for her. "What has she witnessed for her to break down like that?" Seb asked. No one could actually answer that question except for Emery herself.

Uncle Mike knew someone who could answer the question of whether she witnessed her fathers death or not. "I'm going to talk to Owen, I'm sure he is comfortable in our cell" Michael sneered. He wanted answers to some questions because he wanted to make Emery safe. He knew the red snakes were after his brother because of hid girlfriends debt. He however didn't know why they were still after Emery.

Jasper stood wanting to go with his dad. Seb and Chase also stood wanting to go get answers as well. Taz wanted to go question Owen as well but he didn't want to let go of Emery. "I'll stay with Emmy in case she wakes" Taz stated. Uncle Mike nodded "text me when she wakes up" uncle Mike stated. "There is food ready in the kitchen for her" Seb added.

Uncle Mike, Jasper, Chase and Seb headed to the cells to question Owen. They headed out the back and then down into the cellars. Owen was tied to a chair and had a black eye and busted lip. Kody was in the cell already and breathing hard. He had come down to the cell the minute that Emery broke down because he was angry for Emery.

"Kody?" uncle Mike questioned. "Boss this piece of shit was the one to go after Emery after Marcus was killed. He had seen her running with her dad. He won't tell me why they want her" Kody fumed out. "Thank you Kody" Michael stated before nodding his head and directing him to get out of the cell. Kody left the cell and headed upstairs to check on Emery. He was very protective of her. When she stayed at the house as a baby, he would spend hours playing with the girl.

Uncle Mike moved into the cell grabbing Owen by the hair and pulling his head up so he could look at his face. "Now tell me, was Emery there when you shot my brother?" Michael spat. Owen smirked at Michael knowing it would push his buttons more then anything. He just hoped it pushed his buttons enough so he would end his life quickly.

"Owen, every time you piss me off, it's another day of torture added. You want a quick death you answer my questions" Michael fumed out. "Oh and I'll allow Seb to be in charge" Michael smirked himself. Everyone knew that Seb was a sadistic bastard when it came to torturing. Yes he was kind and gentle, like the mother of the group but piss him off and you awakened the grim reappear of torture.

"She wasn't with him, he sent her ahead and waited for us" Owen rushed out. Michael nodded his head. "Why did they want her?" Jasper spat. "Her mother owed the red snakes a lot of money. She was going to be sold to recoup the cost" Owen stated. Seb marched straight into cell putting on his knuckle dusters and punched Owen right on the top of his hand shattering every bone in the process. Owen squealed like a pig.

Michael was just as furious, how could people sell a little girl? He knew they planned to traffic her. "How many of you are in my gang?" Michael asked. Owen was trying to stop himself vomiting from the pain and didn't answer. "That's 1, shall we make it two? You don't answer you spend a day with Seb and you just got a taste of the damage he can inflict on a person" Michael mocked. "There is four of us" Owen screamed out. Michael nodded before heading out of the cells leaving Owen to be dealt with by Seb.

Jasper and Chase followed Michael, they didn't have the stomach for some of the things that Seb did to people he was torturing. "We need to find the other three" Michael stated. He would not have Emery put at risk for something her mother did at all. He would even offer to pay the debt if that meant they left Emery alone but he knew that would not work especially with the red snakes.
