Finding Emery

Uncle Mike's POV

Two years, two fucken years and no one, not even the police have found Emery. How can a four year old girl just disappear off the face of the earth? Taz and Chase were devastated when we couldn't find her. She was their baby sister who they got to meet a handful of times. She stayed with us for three months when Jacqui and Marcus were in rehab and she was the happiest little girl you could ask for.

Today would be her sixth birthday and I just hope she is somewhere safe. We have a lead on the guys who pulled the trigger killing my brother. He is in the area and I'm going to pay him a little visit along with my eldest Jasper. The other three boys are chasing a lead in Melbourne in regards to Emmy. We no longer get our hopes up we just investigate it and when it's a dead end we start again.

"Dad come on. We have the location and he is about 20 minutes from here" Jasper stated. We headed out and found ourselves near an old run down shed with two men looking scared.

"Well look what we have here" I stated walking towards the men who were being surrounded by my men. "Just let us go, we aren't here to cause trouble" douche bag one states. "Did you ever listen to my brother before you shot him and took his child?" I yell at the idiot. "He didn't have a child, I swear we looked but it was just him" douche two said. Jasper pulled his gun and shot douche two in between the eyes.

Douche one took off towards the shed while Jasper and I scream at him to stop. "Fuck you, my boss told us to find the kid and when we do she will pay her parents debt" Douche one stated before I pulled the trigger and shot him in the head. The douche fell forward and we heard a little girl screaming.

Emmy's POV

I heard screaming outside the shed I sleep in. One of the voices was familiar and I wondered if daddy had come back for me. I crawled out of the shed and stood up looking around to see if I could spot daddy. There was a loud bang and then a man was falling on me. Someone was screaming but I guess that was me because the man fell on me and I couldn't move. I started to get black dots in my eyes before everything went black.

Uncle Mike's POV

I rush over to the guy I shot and see a little girl no more then 4 under his body. I quickly pull him off and take the little girl in my arms. She is unconscious but is breathing. Gosh she reminds me of Emery. "Is she ok?" Jasper asks. "I don't know but I'm taking her to the hospital. Where the hell are her parents?" I respond.

We head to the car with the little girl in my arms and I can not help but stare at the little girl. She looks so much like Emery. "Jasper, she looks like Emery" I tell my son just as we pull up at the hospital. "Dad this kid is four at most, Emmy is almost six. I know you what it to be Emery but you can't get attached" Jasper responds.

Over the years we have had many people claim to have found Emery and each time we had hope, it hurt when the child was a fake. Maybe Jasper was right, this kid is small but I will ask for a DNA test just incase. "I'm going to ask the doctor to do a DNA test just incase. I would never forgive myself if she was Emery and we let her slip through our fingers" I stated just as the doctors took the little girl out of my arm.

"I'm placing a guard outside her door and he will inform us of the results when they come in" Jasper stated. I nodded my head and glanced one more time at the little girl before walking away. If I stayed, I would get to attached and it would hurt if it wasn't Emery.

"Let's head home and Myles will calls us when the results come in. It will be about 12 hours and the others will be home by then" Jasper stated. I just nod my head before heading to the car. I know today is a bad day because Emmy would be turning 6 today and that means she had been out there for two years on her own. Birthdays and Christmas' are hard. I made a promise to my brother to protect his daughter and I have failed because I don't know where she is. I don't even know if she is still alive at this point.

Emery's POV

I wake up on something soft and I am warm. I don't know where I am at all. There is a beeping sound and the walls are white. There is a man standing near the door in a black suit and he is smiling at a woman in a blue uniform. The beeping gets faster once I see them and the woman walks into the room further smiling at me. "Hi sweetheart you are awake. Can you tell me your name?" She asks. I just watch her because daddy told me not to talk to strangers at all. The woman stops the beeping and unhooks they wires.

"That's ok if you don't want to talk, my name is Allie. You had a knock to your head and are in hospital. Can you tell me where your parents are?" She asks. Again I don't talk, I just watch her because when I didn't do what daddy said he left me. "Ok sweetheart, I have some food here for you and the doctor should be in soon to check the bump on your head. Get some rest after you eat" the woman says before leaving the room and talking again to the man in the suit. I will eat the food because I haven't eat in a while and then I will leave. I have to get back incase daddy comes back for me today.
