Finding Bailey

Once everyone was finished Nelson cleaned Bailey up as she had squashed banana all over her. She had eaten some but mainly squashed it in her hands much to her brothers disgust. Nelson knew it was all part of exploring foods and was good for Bailey. "One of you will need to stay with Bailey while we get a car seat and something for her to wear" Nelson stated. All the boys wanted to stay with Bailey but didn't really know how to look after her.

"Umm dad, can't we get the car seat and you stay with her. We kinda don't know what to do" Brax stated while watching his sister who was now sitting on the floor again. "Well you will have to learn then. I'll only be an hour. She may need a nappy change and a sleep but that's it" Nelson responded heading upstairs to shower and change. "Do you think we are ready for this?" Bodie called to his dad who hummed in acknowledgment. Nelson was only going to be a phone call away and he didn't think they would be able pick out a baby seat for Bailey.

Once Nelson was ready he headed back downstairs where Bailey was pouting and glaring at Blair. It was the cutest thing he had ever seen. "What's going on?" Nelson asked walking in to the lounge room. "She bit me" Blair stated throwing his hands up which caused Bailey to flinch and fall backward. Luckily the pillows were still behind her so she didn't get hurt. Bailey started to cry causing Bodie to jump up and scoop the girl into his arms. Brax was glaring daggers at his brother for making Bailey cry. "I didn't mean to do that" Blair whispered out.

Nelson sat on the couch next to Bodie who was comforting Bailey. "We need to be careful around Bailey because she is use to people hurting her. Sudden movements will scare her. Now explain how she bit you" Nelson explained. "She was biting the keys so I took them from her. She then held onto my hand and bit me" Blair explained. Nelson nodded, "she is probably teething" he explained. "I'll change her nappy now before I go and then she may have a sleep while I'm out. I will make a bottle just incase she is unsettled. I'll get a seat installed and grab something for her to wear then come home. Then this afternoon after her lunch we can go out again to get more clothes and other things she is going to need" Nelson stated before taking Bailey from Bodie.

Nelson made quick work of the nappy gently wiping Bailey's irritated skin and then smothering her in more cream. Nelson was making faces at Bailey to distract her from the nappy change which worked. Soon Bailey was smiling and giggling at Nelson. "Dad why is she laughing?" Blair asked watching the interaction between his baby sister and dad. He then saw what his father was doing and couldn't help but laugh and shake his head at his dad. Bailey turned to look at Blair laughing cocking her head to the side. She hadn't heard anyone laughing and didn't know what the sound was. This in turn caused Nelson to laugh.

Once the nappy was done, Blair picked his sister up who reached her arms out for Nelson. "Hey not far, I should be your favourite" Blair whined. Nelson shook his head and took Bailey into his arms. She immediately snuggled into his chest gripping on to Nelson's shirt. "My own sister picks dad over me" Blair complained while following his dad into the kitchen.

Nelson was happy Bailey liked him, his sons at this age were complete mummas boy. It was nice for the little girl to want to be comforted by him. "It's because she feels safe with me and I feed her" Nelson explained to his son. "Ok I can feed her" Blair stated in all seriousness. Blair wanted to be Bailey's favourite. Blair watched as Nelson prepared the bottle for Bailey who seemed to be getting sleepy already. She had only been awake for just over 2 and a half hours. But at this point Nelson would follow Bailey's lead as he wasn't sure what type of life she had before hand. All he knew is it must not have been good.

Blair took the bottle once it was made and headed into the lounge room. He sat on the couch and put his arms out for Bailey. She hesitated. Bailey wanted the bottle but she also wanted to stay with Nelson. She liked being in Nelson's arms. Nelson saw Bailey look between him and the bottle so reassured her that it was ok and handed her to Blair.

Bailey watched Nelson as she suckled the bottle. She was attached to him now and didn't want him leaving her. Nelson was getting himself organised to leave so he could get the car seat. "Oh Brax when is your mate coming to check on Bailey?" He asked. "Lunch time he will be here and his payment is lunch apparently" Brax replied while watching his sister. Nelson nodded and was soon ready to leave.

Bailey was watching everything that Nelson did while also fighting sleep. She was still suckling slowing on her bottle but didn't take her eyes off Nelson. "Someone has a crush" Bodie stated when he saw his sister watching his dad. "What?" Asked Brax. "Bailey here won't take her eyes off dad at all" Bodie laughed out. Nelson shook his head but smiled as well.

"I won't leave then till she is asleep" Nelson stated sitting himself down on the couch. Once Nelson was seated Bailey relaxed and let her eyes close while finishing her bottle. Once it was done Blair pulled the bottle out of her mouth causing her to pout. "You still need to burp her" Nelson advised. Blair slowly put Bailey over his shoulder and rubbed her back. Bailey let out a huge burp causing Brax and Bodie to laugh. Once that was done Nelson decided it was time to get the seat and left the house giving his sons instructions to change Bailey's nappy once she was awake and call if they needed him. The three brothers all stayed in the lounge room watching Bailey who was asleep on Blair's shoulder.
