Finding Bailey

As soon as the two boys returned, Nelson made Bailey a bottle because she was refusing to eat. Both Harry and Nelson knew she wasn't in a position to not be eating. "Dada bot" Bailey stated when she saw the bottle being made. "Yes princess this is for you" Nelson stated getting ready to feed Bailey her bottle.

Nelson got himself settled and held Bailey in his arms. He was holding her bottle for her while she drank the bottle happily. She was hungry but didn't want the food that had been given to her. Bailey was still learning different foods and didn't trust a lot of things at all. She wasn't use to having to chew things either. The hospital food was not part of the diet plan the paediatrician had recommended for Bailey.

An older nurse was doing her rounds and stormed into the private room throwing the door open in the process. Bailey jumped chocking on her milk in the process. "What do you think me you are doing?" The nurse yelled causing Bailey to start to shake and cry. She was scared of what the woman would do. Harry stood glaring at woman who had barged into the room yelling.

The nurse was tapping her foot waiting for an explanation of what was happening. Nelson was trying to reassure Bailey and calm her down. "I asked a question, what the hell is for going on? Why the hell is this child having a bottle and not eating real food?" The nurse yelled again. Nelson was getting annoyed with the woman but his focus was on his daughter and making sure she was ok. Bailey was gripping onto Nelson, while Brax had gone to get someone to get the woman out of the room.

"This is why men shouldn't be raising children. I will make sure you never see that girl again. She will be returning to her mother. She is to old to be drinking from a bloody bottle. Hand the child to me now" the nurse screamed reaching for the child just as the doctor in charge came into the room with Brax. Bailey was screaming and was swinging her arm around which hit Nelson in the face. "Shit" Nelson cried out in pain. Blood started pouring out of Nelson's nose. This scared Bailey who started to scream even more. Harry went to take Bailey from Nelson but she wanted her Dada.

The doctor had heard what the nurse had said and was furious. "Nurse Cheryl, get out. You have caused enough damage. Send in a competent nurse to help fix your mistakes" the doctor spat. "This child is having a bottle. She is to old for that. This is why children belong with their mothers. He has no idea how to raise children at all and is doing more damage to her" the nurse spat.

Blair was furious, how dare this nurse say that. Blair jumped up screaming "our mother left us for a guy who got her addicted to drugs. She then had another baby who she abused before she neglected her and dumped her in a run down apartment by herself. My dad has raised me and my brothers alone while my my mum fucked off and now he is going to raise my sister. Don't you dare say a bad word about him". Nelson, Harry, Brax and Bodie were shocked, Blair never stood up to anyone. He was the more laid back brother of them all.

The doctor was glaring at the nurse who was now looking like a fish out of water. "Nurse Cheryl, Bailey here is a child who was malnourished and is on a strict diet which has been put together by her paediatrician. That includes formula which has added vitamins to make sure she is getting enough nutrients with the little amount of food she eats. I suggest you read a patients file before you open your mouth. You will pack your things at once and remove yourself from my ward" The doctor spat at the nurse who was now starring at her feet in shame.

Nelson had managed to grab some paper towels and was holding those to his nose. Bailey wouldn't let him go and was still crying and distressed. Harry, Brax, Bodie and Blair had all tried to take her from Nelson but she would become hysterical when they tried. "I apologise for my nurse" the doctor began only to be cut off by Bailey screaming again as Nelson pulled the paper towel from his nose to see if it was still bleeding.

The doctor looked and saw the blood instantly pressing the call button for another nurse. The doctor grabbed some gloves and headed towards Nelson to try and check his nose. When Bailey saw the doctor approach she attempted to get away and began to swing her arm which was in a cast around again. Harry used the distraction and grabbed Bailey from Nelson securing her arm gently so she couldn't hurt anyone else. "Shh chicken. It's ok. No one is going to hurt you. Dada is right there" Harry cooed at his granddaughter attempting to calm Bailey down.

Nelson looked towards Bailey who was sobbing and calling out "dada". "It's ok Princess. I am ok. Pa is going to give you your bottle and some banana while the doctor looks at my nose" Nelson told Bailey calmly. He wanted her to know what was going on as that seemed to help Bailey when she was at home.

Bailey was trying to calm down while watching her dada. Harry was holding Bailey and rubbing her back gently helping her calm down. Harry sat right beside Nelson placing Bailey in his arms so she was facing Nelson. He feed Bailey her bottle while she watched Nelson the entire time.

A nurse entered the room as Bailey was struggling to stay away. He looked at the doctor wondering why the call button was pressed. "Can you get some ice please. Ms Bailey here decided to use her fathers nose as batting practice with her cast" the doctor stated. The nurses eyes went wide before he nodded and ran to get some ice returning a few moments later. The nurse placed the ice on Nelson's nose and again looked to the doctor.

The doctor cleared his "right, have you read Bailey's chart?" The doctor asked. "Yes, she had a broken arm which required resetting under anaesthesia. She is on a high protein diet due to malnourishment and has recently come into her fathers care" the nurse said not knowing where this was going. The nurse looked at the food on the table before realising. "Right, I'll take this and find something that Ms Bailey is able to eat" the nurse stated. "No need, she has just had a bottle and is asleep" Harry stated. "Ok if she needs anything else let me know. My name is Luke" the nurse introduced himself before he left.

Bailey was sleeping in her Pa's arms as the doctor checked Nelson's nose. It wasn't broken but she had caused him to have two black eyes. The doctor told him to keep the ice on his nose for 20 minutes to help with the swelling and to stop the bleeding. Nelson thanked the doctor before the doctor left the room. Brax and Bodie looked at their father and couldn't help but burst out laughing. Soon they were all laughing at poor Nelson.
