Finding Bailey

Nelson was in his office with his ex wife and Bailey's biological father. They had been found and were asking for money to sign the adoption papers. Nelson could see his ex wife was clearly on drugs and was furious. How could a mother pick drugs over her own children?

Not once had Melanie asked about her children at all. Her boyfriend had done the talking demanding money for his daughter. Harry had joined the meeting as well and was furious this guy was threatening to take Bailey from them if he didn't get $100000.

Harry would happily hand over the money to keep his chicken safe but this guy was playing the victim. He was blaming Nelson for taking his daughter and even threatened to take Bailey from them all. Harry had offered the guy $20000 to sign the adoption papers. He then had the audacity to sob like he missed his daughter. This made both Nelson and Harry even more angry because they knew this was all about money.

After the fourth time that Blair had rung Nelson had excused himself to answer the call. "Blair I'm in the middle ...." He began to speak only to hear Bailey screaming. "Dad, Bailey is hurt. Her arm is broken we are on our way home" Blair rushed out. "Don't come here. Take her to the kids hospital. I will meet you there" Nelson rushed out. He didn't want Bailey here when the people who abused her were in the house. "Dad she keeps screaming and wants you" Blair attempted "besides we are two minutes away" Blair continued.

Nelson couldn't help it "Blair do not dare come here. Go straight to the hospital. Do not come here" Nelson barked. He didn't want to be aggressive but he knew that Bailey couldn't be here. "Ok" Blair whispered even though he was unsure. "I will be there shortly. Just keep calm ok. I swear I'll be there in 15 minutes" Nelson told Blair before heading back into his office to get these papers signed.

Nelson stormed back into the office and snatched the papers up. "Don't sign. Get out now" Nelson barked at his ex and the guy he didn't bother to learn the name of. Harry stood about to jump in and offer the money for Bailey when the guy pulled the papers back. "I'll sign for the twenty" he rushed out. Nelson nodded his head and Melanie couldn't even look at Nelson. "Do it and get out now" Nelson boomed out. Nelson needed to get to the hospital immediately to check on Bailey.

Harry wrote out a cheque and once the papers were signed and witnessed by the PI, he shoved the cheque at them. Nelson pushed them out of his house. "You are not welcome here again. Stay away from me and my children" he spat before slamming the door and rushing back to the office. "Take the papers file them. Bailey is hurt I need to get to the hospital" Nelson rushed out.

Harry jumped up as well, he didn't know what was going on but he would be going to his granddaughter. The PI took the paper work and would file it with the court today so everything would be made offical. Nelson and Harry jumped in the car and headed to the children's hospital which was 20 minutes away. They made it in 10 minutes.

Brax rushed his sister into the hospital. Bailey was still crying and would not settle. The minute the nurse saw Bailey's arm she took her straight into a room. "One of you need to stay here to give us details" the nurse rushed out. Bodie decided to stay out of the room because he was feeling sick just looking at the lump on Bailey's arm. The admin clerk was asking him questions and he wasn't sure how to answer them.

Nelson rushed into the hospital with Harry following close behind. Nelson had a copy of the adoption papers so he could show the hospital he was Bailey's legal guardian. He saw Bodie and raced to him. "Where is Bailey? is she ok?" He rushed out. The admin clerk began to question Nelson who was becoming impatient because he needed to check on his daughter. Nelson slammed the paper work on the counter and glares at the woman. Harry took over answering the questions while Nelson headed inside to comfort his daughter.

Brax and Blair had no idea what to do and were waiting on the doctor. He had come in saying he was going to set Bailey up with pain relief before they even attempted to X-ray the arm. He told them he thought it was broken but didn't know how bodily until they had taken X-rays. Nelson rushed into the room and immediately Bailey was crying out "dada". Nelson carefully took Bailey into his arms, being careful of her arm and attempted to soothe her. "Dada is here. I got you princess" Nelson whispered.

The doctor walked back in ready to set up an IV to give Bailey some pain killers. "Hi I'm Bailey's doctor. I need to set up some pain relief for her so we can X-ray her arm. Are you happy to keep her in your arms?" The doctor asked. Nelson nodded his head and the doctor got to work on putting in an IV. It took Nelson and another nurse to hold Bailey still while the doctor put the IV in. Bailey didn't make a noise when the needle was inserted shocking the doctor and the nurse in the process. Nelson had to explain she was his adopted daughter and had been abused prior to coming into his care.

Once the pain relief kicked in, Bailey fell asleep on Nelson's chest. Nelson was asked to carry her down to X-ray so they could see how bad the break was. He refused to let his daughter go and felt terrible he wasn't there for her. The boys all felt guilty that they had been in charge when she had gotten hurt. Harry had assured them it was an accident and kids have accidents but they still felt bad.

When Nelson walked back into the room with Bailey who was still sleeping he looked to his father. "She needs surgery" was all Nelson said before the doctors walked in to discuss what was going to happen next. Bailey needed to have surgery to put the bone back in place and then set her arm. They asked when her last meal was and planned to set her arm later that day.

At 4pm Bailey was still clinging to Nelson when she was called in for her surgery. Everyone kissed Bailey before Nelson had to take her to theatre's. Nelson held Bailey in his arms as they put her under and then kissed his baby girl before heading to the waiting area. It would only take about an hour to reset the arm and place a cast on her arm. It would be the longest hour of his life.
