Captivation: Want Nothing But You

Chapter 1671

Battling the unease coursing through his body, Alberto managed to ask, “Has she left?”

“Mr.

Gibson, just look at your condition! Is that question really necessary right now?” Mason’s frustration was evident.

“You took so long to recover, and now you’re not taking proper care of yourself.

Your grandfather would be upset if he knew.

Please consider your grandfather’s feelings, if not for your own sake.

During your coma, your grandfather abstained from eating, drinking, or even sleeping.

He was on the verge of a breakdown.

If something were to happen to you again, how am I supposed to break it to him?

Mason expressed his deep concern, his distress leading him to mention Alberto’s grandfather.

Alberto’s eyes darkened as he murmured, “I apologize.”

Hearing Alberto’s words, Mason paused, realizing that he might have gone too far, but it was too late to take them back.

When Alberto was in a coma, his grandfather grew increasingly anxious.

Unbeknownst to Alberto, the entire family had kept hidden the fact that his grandfather had nearly collapsed from not eating or drinking.

It was only now, with Mason’s revelation that he learned about it.

“Mr.

Gibson, I didn’t intend to…” Mason began to stammer an explanation; however, it sounded half-hearted and inadequate.

“I understand,” Alberto interrupted him with another bout of coughing.

“Assist me to my room.

I need to lie down.”

Mason nodded and aided Alberto back to his room.

Once Alberto was settled in his bed, he closed his eyes and then opened them again.

“Mason.”

“How may I assist you further, sir?”

“Arrange for a car to tail her and ensure her safe return home.”

Alberto’s tired voice came out hoarse.

“Please have someone purchase some orange fragrance and eliminate the woody scent in the room.”

Standing by the bed, Mason studied Alberto for a moment before letting out a soft sigh.

“Understood.”

It was already late into the night, but Rachel kept tossing and turning in the bed, unable to sleep.
