Chapter 1151 Bart And Haiden Nine (3)
"It tastes good. The meat is juicy but not greasy. It melts in the mouth and tastes very nice," Valery commented.
Haiden beckoned for the waiter to come over and then said to Valery, "Go on."
Valery said no more but enjoyed her food.
It was already nine o'clock when they finished their dinner. Haiden asked, "What do you usually do after you go back?"
"Prepare the work for tomorrow," Valery answered while opening her phone to check the memo.
"After you finished it, what do you do?"
"Watch the news." Valery thought for a moment and added, "After that, Go to sleep.'
"What did you want to do on your birthday?" Haiden asked directly.
Only then did Valery realize this was what Haiden wanted to ask.
Every year on her birthday, Andrew would give her a gift, and then she would stay in her room and stare at the gift happily.
She had never gone out on that day.
"I don't know." Valery pressed her lips.
Haiden raised his eyebrows and asked, "What about we go back to the office and work overtime?"
Valery nodded, "Okay."
Haiden shook his head with a smile.
Then Haiden walked to his car. Valery followed him and reported, "We are going to have lunch with the managers from branches tomorrow. After that, there will be a video conference from abroad in the afternoon. I haven't sorted out the content of the conference yet."
Haiden stopped suddenly and turned around. Valery who had no time to react hit Haiden's chest directly.
Valery rubbed her forehead.
She took a slight step back.
Haiden gazed at Valery and said calmly, "Valery, today is your birthday. You don't need to worry about your work. You can do whatever you want."
"Then I'll go home and rest." Valery got in the car and put her phone into her bag. Suddenly, she saw two tickets in her bag. "Mr. Cox, do you want to watch a movie?"
Haiden sat in the driver's seat and was about to fasten his seat belt. He paused and asked, "Are you asking me out to watch a movie?"
"You gave me the tickets, didn't you?" said Valery.
"Then let's go to the cinema," said Haiden as he drove out.
Valery felt that Haiden acted a little strange, but couldn't tell the reason.
They arrived at the cinema soon. The movie just started. When they entered the dark room, they were recognized quickly by the staff of the company who also chose the same film. And they were all couples.
While watching the movie, a group of people started to discuss it on WeChat as follows.
[It can't be Haiden and Valery?]
[Yes, it is!]
[My God!]
[Are they dating? Are they in a relationship?]
[Maybe.]
[I'm so jealous of Valery.]
[Me too.]
After they sent the messages, they found that Valery was also in this chat group, but it was too late to recall the messages. Valery's mobile phone vibrated. She clicked it to check the messages and looked around the room quickly after she read them. Sure enough, there were many colleges sitting around her.
And she found Gerald sitting not far away behind her.
Gerald smiled ambiguously at her and gave her a refueling gesture.
Valery was speechless.
At the same time, Andrew was waiting at the door of Valery's house, holding a cake in his hands.
He didn't expect Valery to come home so late.
When the movie ended, it was already 10:50. When they left, Haiden greeted the staff of the company and then drove Valery back.
"Thank you. I'm very happy today," Valery said when they almost arrived at her house.
Haiden was about to say something when he saw Andrew's car parking under a tree from the rearview mirror.
Valery got off the car and walked upstairs. When she reached her doorstep, she suddenly found a shadow at the door.
"Why do you come back so late?" Andrew grumbled.
"You... Why didn't you make a call?" Valery took out her key to open the door while seeing Andrew had a cake in his hand.
"No need. I know you will come back," Andrew answered. Valery open the door and they walked in. "Didn't Haiden know it's your birthday today? Why didn't he let you leave work on time?" Valery didn't say anything. She turned on the light and closed the door.
Andrew placed the cake on the table and opened the box. Then he put the candles on it, lit them up, and said to Valery, "Happy birthday! Make a wish."
Valery closed her eyes and made her wish.
The moment Valery opened her eyes and looked at Andrew's face that was illuminated by the flickering candlelight, she found herself asking, "Do you want to know my wish?" "What is it?"
"I want you to stay tonight," Valery said, gazing at Andrew.
Andrew's expression changed
slightly. He didn't make a response
to that requirement but blow the candle himself and take out a knife to cut the cake. "Happy birthday." Andrew took out a gift from his pocket and placed it on the table.
He stood in front of Valery, looking at her frustrated face and saying, "I'm leaving."
Then he opened the door and walked out.
Valery stood in the living room alone, gazing at the cake on the table for a while. Then she stepped forward, reached out her hand to get some cream on her finger, and putat into her mouth.
Valery thought to herself, 'It's bitter."
At midnight, being drunk, Valery called Andrew, "Why? I don't understand? Don't you like me? Why can you sleep with other women but not with me?"
"You are drunk." A cold voice came
ve
from the other. Valery looked at her phone and found that it was Haiden. She forgot that she was not Andrew's assistant anymore and had changed her speed dial number.
It was not Andrew but Haiden.
She mumbled, "I'm sorry..."
"I'm sorry..." She sobbed and felt sad.
The other side paused for a moment and said, "Valery, open the door."
When Valery opened the door with watery eyes, she found that Haiden was standing at the door.
For those days, Valery had been trying to be a tough and rational person. However, she collapsed totally when she saw Andrew whom she had loved for over ten years.
She had been following behind him for so long, hoping he would turn back and see her one day.
Whenever she wanted to give up, he would suddenly appear in front of her and give her a surprising gift.
As long as he was a little nice to her, she would believe there was a chance between them.
"Am I wrong? You like me, right? Why? Why do you pretend you don't like me?" Valery said, tears streaming down her face.
She asked again and again, "Why? Tell me."
Haiden strode in, held Valery's chin, and pressed his lips to hers.
