Chapter 1152 Bart and Haiden Ten (1)
Gerald felt a strange atmosphere between Haiden and Valery.
All the employees in the company saw them watch a movie together that night. The following day, Valery didn't come to work, and Haiden sat alone in the office and worked until midnight. However, Valery looked the same as always when she came back to work.
Gerald asked her if something had happened that night, and she replied to him with only one word "Nothing!"
Gerald was sure something must have happened that night, but he couldn't get any information from Valery. Since he dared not to ask Haiden, he could only secretly make the deduction.
Haiden and Valery still worked together in tacit understanding. They went to the factory to see the latest progress. Valery still helped him drink the wine when they went out to socialize and worked overtime at night to wait for Haiden to get off work together.
Neither of them mentioned what happened that night as if nothing had changed between them.
Haiden was still Valery's boss, and Valery was still Haiden's assistant. However, Valery was no longer at ease when facing him. Instead, she even respected him more with the utmost seriousness.
On Haiden's birthday, the Alberton family specially held a party for him in a hotel and invited many relatives and friends.
Bart even brought her boyfriend to give Haiden a birthday present.
Deon was a little dissatisfied with Bart's boyfriend, but Bart loved her boyfriend so much. People said Bart took the initiative to pursue him. When Deon heard that, he thought of Emma. He secretly wondered, 'Like mother, like daughter!'
When Haiden appeared, Deon was still looking for his girlfriend.
Haiden briefly explained what had happened in Heving City to Deon, who waved his hand and said, "It doesn't matter! There are many pretty girls at your birthday party today. Tell me if you have a crush on someone."
Haiden was speechless.
Kaden and Levin brought their friends to the party. When they arrived, the party immediately became lively. Kaden was gregarious. He had just turned eighteen, the legal age to drink alcohol in that country, so he seized the chance and plied Haiden with wine.
Bart couldn't tolerate Kaden anymore and wanted to stop him. Kaden slammed the bottle of wine on the table and said, "Why? Are you looking down on your brother?"
"Okay! Don't blame me for not stopping you if you guys fight with each other after getting drunk!" Bart said with a shrug.
After all, they all knew Bart might hit others when she got drunk. However, no one had seen what Haiden looked like when he was drunk.
Kaden's goal was to get Haiden drunk. Haiden often appeared as a reliable big brother with an air of arrogance, and he was gentle and polite when talking to others. Therefore, Kaden often wondered if Haiden would go crazy after getting drunk.
Although Haiden knew what those brats were plotting, he did not refuse their toasts. He was only a little annoyed.
"Mr. Cox, I'm sorry... I don't love you!" Valery would often dream of Valery looking at him with tears in her eyes every few nights.
He would wake up abruptly every time he had that dream.
Haiden already knew her answer, but he didn't want to give up.
Haiden raised his head and chugged down another glass of wine.
He thought there was a slight chance that she liked him.
It turned out that he had unrequited love.
"Are you drunk?" Kaden asked Haiden.
Levin came over, looked at Haiden, and said, "No! He isn't."
Haiden stood up, unbuttoned his collar, and said, "I need some fresh air!"
He staggered as he walked out.
Kaden laughed from behind and said, "Look! He is drunk!"
Levin shouted at Haiden, wanting to come over and help him, but Haiden waved his hand to stop him. Haiden seemed to have said something, but he was too drunk to say anything clearly.
He only wanted to go out to get some fresh air.
Before leaving the hall, he saw Valery appear in a purple dress. She wore the necklace she had received from him and a pair of

bunny-shaped jade earrings.
Her makeup looked more delicate that day.
Andrew stood beside her.
Andrew stepped forward and yelled with a big smile, "Haiden! Happy birthday! Here is the gift for you."
Haiden glanced at Andrew and said with a sour smile, "Thank you, bro!"
As Haiden reached out to take the gift, Andrew noticed his awful look and asked, "Are you drunk?"
"Yes! I'm!" Haiden answered as he took the gift and walked out.
Valery followed Haiden out after whispering something to Andrew.
Valery said to Haiden, "Where are you going? I'll send you there."
Haiden leaned against the stone statue by the door for a while. The heat on his face did not disperse. As the wine flowed down his limbs and bones, he felt something burning his whole body.
"Valery!" Haiden muttered in a low voice.
Valery approached him and saw his eyes turn red. Haiden said in a hoarse voice, "Don't get too close to me when I'm drunk!"
Valery was stunned.
Before Valery could figure out his meaning, Haiden had already walked to the road to hail a taxi.
Observing his legs shaking, Valery was afraid that he would get hit by a car. She ran over and held his arm. "Mr. Cox, I'll drive you home! Wait here!"
After saying that, she stuffed her bag into Haiden's arms and turned to get her car.
