“Really? It tastes more like a drink to me. It’s sweet and sour, with a hint of peach.” Willow’s cheeks flushed slightly. She looked at Hansel with wide, shimmering eyes and tilted her head. “You don’t like it?”
Hansel didn’t give much of a response.
She didn’t mind and poured herself another drink.
The change of setting and the upbeat music seemed to relax him since his expression softened and his mood improved. When she spoke again, he didn’t leave her in awkward silence. Finally, it felt like a conversation, not just her monologuing.
At that moment, the music grew louder, and the lights swirled into a kaleidoscope of color. The people on the dance floor moved with the rhythm and danced freely.
Willow’s eyes lit up as she was captivated by the vibrant energy. Without hesitation, she grabbed Hansel’s hand. “Let’s dance. What do you say?”
She seemed a little tipsy and looked slightly dazed, but her eyes sparkled brightly. She looked at him with pleading eyes, and he felt a stir in his chest as she pulled him onto the dance floor.
Willow didn’t know how to dance. Her movements were uncoordinated as she followed the music instinctively. Watching her awkward and aimless swaying, Hansel couldn’t help but
smile.
“What are you laughing at?” Willow frowned.
His grin only widened.
She huffed in frustration. “Hey, that’s not fair! I can’t be the only one looking silly. You’ve got to dance too!”
Fueled by the alcohol, Willow boldly took Hansel’s hand and began swaying along with the music. Seeing no objection, she became more daring and raised his hand as she twirled around.
He didn’t seem very interested and maintained a laid–back demeanor, but he didn’t stop
her.
Willow started out a little uneasy, but it didn’t take long before she lost herself in the rhythm until their eyes met.
The lights danced around them, and the music pulsed through the air.
At some point, their bodies drew close, and Hansel’s faint scent of alcohol lingered between them. Feeling increasingly lightheaded, Willow looked up at him, her heartbeat

His eyes sparkled like a galaxy–brilliant and mesmerizing. It was as if an invisible thread was pulling her closer.
Standing on tiptoes, she raised her head, and her eyes locked on his lips.
The music was perfect, the atmosphere charged with tension, and their unspoken chemistry deepened.
Hansel, too, seemed caught in the moment. He slowly leaned closer. Just as Willow thought she might finally bridge the gap, he suddenly pushed her away and stepped back.
“You’re drunk.”
Willow froze. She quickly lowered her gaze to hide the disappointment in her eyes.
When she looked up again, her face had transformed into one of sudden awareness, as if she had just come to her senses.
She lightly patted her cheeks, her eyes clearing, and quickly apologized. “Oh, sorry! I think I had a bit too much to drink. My mind’s not all there.”
Hansel was unsure whether to believe her words. He chuckled and walked off the dance floor. Then, he called the waiter, paid the bill, and strode out of the bar.
Willow looked at his retreating figure with frustration and anger bubbling inside her. She clenched her fists, gritted her teeth, and ran after him.
She refused to believe that there was truly someone who couldn’t be swayed. If such a person existed, either the approach was wrong, or there wasn’t enough patience. And, luckily, she had both.
Hansel might have avoided her this time, but what about the next time? The time after that? Men were all the same, right?
