As they opened the door, the door across from them did the same. Paul was holding a garbage bag, seemingly about to take out the trash. They both froze upon seeing each other.

Sam smirked and said, “Dr. Jefferson, did you not go to the lab today? What a coincidence to be running into you like this.”

Paul looked at him up and down before frowning. “What are you doing here?”

“Is it really that strange for me to be here? Mimi invited me to come up, of course.” Sam adjusted his collar as he spoke, “Dr. Jefferson, are you going out? Coincidentally, we’re headed out as well.”

Paul fixed his gaze on Sam first, then he glanced at the sandwich in his hand. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes despite the calm expression on his face.
