Chapter 37
Chapter 37
The instant Zoey showed up, Dillon’s expression tightened. “Didn’t I ask you to wait outside! Why did you come in?”
Rosalind observed the exchange between Dillon and Zoey, Zoey, dressed in a sharp business outfit and clean makeup, was very polite towards Dillon. She looked like she worked for him as a secretary
“Tm sorry, Mr. Dillon. I’m leaving now,” Zoey said before she left the hospital room respectfully.
Rosalind had been our cold and had no clue who had donated blood to her, so Zoey didn’t worry Rosalind would recognize her.
Outside the room, Freddy watched Zoey with a smirk. She had come in as a blood donor for Rosalind but was now acting the part perfectly.
Zory
ey tilted her head. “Going to expose me?”
Freddy shook his head. “No,” he said, then walked away without another word.
Zoey’s lips turned up in a subile smile. Naomi had asked her to gather information, and she had done just that. She stepped to the side to send a message to the contact named “Savior, informing Naomi of the latest updates from the hospital She received no response, but she was ready to reach out again if new tasks came in
Back at Spring Villa, Naomi hit the intercom button, asking Carla for a phone holder. She had just made an account on the popular social video app, Glow, under the pseudonym Elf in the Evening
After setting up her profile, she posted a few comic clips with background music. She also posted on Sky Animation to promote her 8 PM live stream, inviting her audience to find “Elf in the Evening on Glow if they were curious
Naomi knew Rosalind kept tabs on her every move. Even if Rosalind didn’t follow her directly. Naomi would make sure she knew about it. After her update. Naomi removed the block on Rosalind across her social networks. Within three minutes, her phone rang with Rosalind’s number.
Naomi smirked slightly. Her sister’s interest in her was as intense as it was in the past
Naomi let the phone ring, almost to the point of hanging up, before sliding to answer, “Hello, who’s this?” She spoke in a calm yet indifferent tone.
“It’s me. Rosalind, Rosalind said, grinting her teeth, trying to sound friendly and warm “Naomi, I want to meet you. You want 1.5 million dollars, right! I’ll give it to you. Just don’t go live with your art, please”
Naomi couldn’t help but chuckle. And why’s that
“You know why. Let’s not beat around the bush,” Rosalind said, her voice tight. The Edward’s family took you in from the orphanage and made you who you are today. You owe them gratitude. Naomi, you’re an Edwards, come back home. I’m your sister We’re family and we can work this out
Naomi’s laugh became more pronounced, and her eyes teared up. After wiping away a tear, she spoke clearly, “Yeah, we’re family! So everything that’s mine is yours, and whatever’s yours is still yours, right? As a family, I was never welcome at the dinner table. The rest of you were happy while I was just an extra, a disposable blood donor, right? Because we’re family, Javier and Victoria threw insults at me, and you sweetly addressed me as your “sister‘ while seeing Freddy behind my back, tricked me into donating blood, and enjoyed playing me for a fool. Even after you pushed me off a cliff, a careless “I didn’t mean it‘ is supposed to make everything right?
Naomi’s tone was icy as she spoke, “Rosalind, you would’ve died without the blood I gave you. Don’t act so self–righteous because you, the Edwards family daughter, mean nothing to me,” she finished firmly before hanging up.
Naomi’s breaths were heavy. She reminded herself to stay focused on her plan and do it step by step, but whenever she heard Rosalind’s fake sweetness and self–righteous talk, she couldn’t help but recall her previous nightmares. She knew that until she became absolutely powerful, she had to endure. These uncontrolled emotions couldn’t happen again. Rosalind. Freddy, their parents, and that evil man would all pay for what they did to her.
After rinsing her face with cold water for more than ten minutes, Naomi’s breathing finally stabilized. Looking up, she saw her calm reflection in the mirror, her eyes clear, masking the deep resentment she harbored.
“Ms. Edwards, Mr. Fischer wants to see you, Carla’s voice came from outside the door.
Naomi quickly got herself together, put on a perfect smile, and walked out quickly. Carla was at the door, holding a stunning red evening gown. “Ms. Edwards, I’ll help you change your clothes”
“Are we going to a
o a dinner party?” Naomi asked, intrigued.
Carla just smiled, “Please follow me, Ms. Edwards.”
“Lean get dressed by myself, Naomi said, taking the gown and going back to her room. She quickly changed into the gown. Her radiant skin and slim figure made her an ideal fit for the eye–catching, form–fitting dress, which many would find challenging to wear. On her, it seemed custom- made, highlighting every aspect of her shape.

The dress reached down to her ankles, and with high heels, her elegant and attractive ankles were slightly visible. The waist was fitting perfectly, while the back was low–cut enough to reveal her stunning shoulder blades, Her wavy hair cascaded over her shoulders, making her attractive shoulder bones look particularly tempting. Naomi understood the power of subtlety in charm.
Once dressed and made up, she wondered if she could still broadcast her art live at the party. She didn’t want to keep Shawn waiting. When she was ready, she left her room and went downstairs. There, Shawn was leisurely drinking a glass of red wine on the couch. He only looked up when he noticed her descending the spiral staircase
Seeing Naomi in red took him aback–the woman who had once seemed delicate and fragile to him now appeared enchanting and compelling. more so than he had ever imagined. Shawn’s gaze sharpened as he watched her. ‘Clothes make the person, and it certainly applies in this case!
“Mr. Fischer. I’m ready,” Naomi approached, smiling at him. “Are we going to a dinner party!”
Shawn clutched his wine glass tighter, his eyes resting on her bare shoulders. After a pause, he replied slowly, “We’re visiting Elaine Jewelry.”
