Petra’s P.O.V.

Thalia just made a huge mistake. She can’t know that Teegan has power, too; otherwise, she wouldn’t have brought her here. I have to relieve Teegan’s pain so she can help. Now that I’m mated to Anton, I should be able to mindlink her and Joel. I hope her acting skills are good.

“Teegan, I know you’re in an incredible amount of pain, and I’m going to ease that for you, but I need you to continue screaming like you’re doing now. Can you do that?” Her screaming falters for a second as she listens to me. Joel is listening as well.

“I’ll do whatever you want if you make this pain stop.” She mindlinks back. I use magic to ease her pain and make a cooling sensation come over her. It will also help her scent so unmated wolves won’t be frantic to get to her. It won’t hold forever, but it should be long enough for what we need to do. She continues rolling around in the cage and screaming.

“I feel better. What are we going to do? I don’t know what’s going on other than a witch brought us here.” I mindlink them both and give them a quick rundown of everything. “Hang on for a few more minutes, Docia, and I will get you out of there.”

“So what’s it going to be?” Thalia asks with a smirk.

“Teegan and I weren’t that close, so I’ll leave it up to you.” When everyone in the room doesn’t react to what I say, I assume Joel mindlinked them about what’s happening. Thalia looks from me to Teegan.

“I don’t buy it. So you’re okay if I let her out of that cage and let any unmated wolves have their way with her?” She asks. I look at Joel, and he nods.

“Her heat scent is barely detectable, and Teegan will run to you as soon as she opens the cage.” He mindlinks me.

“Go ahead,” I reply, crossing my arms. Thalia hesitates as though she doesn’t know what to do.

“Fine. You asked for it.” Teegan’s cage moves down to the ground, and the door opens. At first, she doesn’t move. When her eyes meet mine, she runs out of the cage to stand with Docia and me.

“What the fuck is going on?” Thalia screams. I hug Teegan and can feel how hot she is. We don’t have much time.

“We figured out the real reason you want Docia and I. It’s because you can’t beat us. What you didn’t know is that Teegan also has power of her own. She’s a Heyoka empath. The two of us with her can block your magic, and whatever you try to do to us will come back to you ten times stronger.” The witch’s face turns red with anger.

“You’re lying. I would have known if she was an empath. I would have never brought her here if that’s true.” Thalia yells as she moves toward us. I don’t know if we need to hold hands, but Docia and I both hold Teegan’s hands.

“Try us bitch.” I say softly. As she runs toward us, Docia and I use our magic to stop her. With Teegan’s help, we make her feel like hundreds of knives are sticking in her at once. Thalia falls to the ground, screaming.

“Diamond mindlinked Paimon, and he’s coming to take her away. Who would have thought I’d have a prince of the underworld on speed dial?” I tell the others. Thalia is pulling her hair out from the pain we’re causing her. Teegan’s grip on my hand increases, and when I look at her, she’s getting red. Paimon needs to hurry, or her heat will take over again.

“Hello again. I believe you summoned me.” The lights are still off, so once again, Paimon is in the shadows as he emerges from behind the thrones.

“Thank you for coming. Can you get rid of this witch?” I ask him. Even in the shadows, I can still see him smiling.

“Of course. I understand she’s responsible for many heinous deeds that resulted in the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent people. Satan will take care of her.” Thalia tries to get up when she sees Paimon.

“Lucifer will have your head for this.” She yells at him.

“No, Thalia, he’s already requested yours. You’re an embarrassment to the underworld, and he wants to put all of this behind him. Your death is one thing Satan and Lucifer agree on.” Paimon walks over to Thalia, grabs her by the neck, and throws her to the ground. She disappears as though she was never there, and Paimon walks back toward the thrones.

“Take care, my dear shifters.” He walks away, and the lights come back on.

“Wow. I bet his penis is one of the biggest of them all.” Martina whispers, but we all hear her.

I bring Joel’s cage down, and he runs over to Teegan, picks her up, and runs out of the throne room. Hopefully, they can now enjoy her heat.

“Thank you.” Victoria hugs both me and Docia.

“I’m sorry I had to make it look like I was with Chris because I couldn’t stop him alone,” Docia says to the king and queen.

“You did what you had to in order to survive. We don’t blame you.” Victoria says, hugging her again.

“We will have rooms set up for everyone. Please stay with us for a while.” Adrian says. I look around at the others, and they look exhausted. We need time to rest; otherwise, we won’t be in good shape to help anyone else.

“What do you say? Are you okay with staying at the palace for a while?” Logan asks. We all agree, and we’re shown to rooms within a few minutes. I can’t believe that after everything the people in the palace have been through, they worked so fast to get things ready for us. As soon as we step into our room, I hug Anton and feel my anxiety begin to leave.

“I was so scared for all of us,” I whisper as my tears fall.

“So was I. I’m glad you recognized that your sister didn’t want to be there. When I saw Teegan and Joel in those cages, I thought she was going to die. I’m so proud of you, Petra. You never show any fear or hesitation, no matter what’s thrown at you. I love you.” Whenever I hear the words I thought I would never hear, it makes everything we’ve been through all worthwhile.

"I love you too. I can’t believe Thalia was responsible for so much destruction, all because of her petty jealousy; she was truly evil. She was truly evil all because of some petty jealousy. When we leave here, are we going to continue going to the other packs, or are we going to Silver Moon?” I ask him while pulling him to the bathroom. I think we need a shower badly.

“I was raised to be the alpha of Silver Moon, but I think I may have other plans if you agree.” I look up into his eyes in surprise. I thought being alpha had been a dream of his.

“What do you want to do?” Anton smiles and kisses me.

“I was talking to Ryker and Scott. We thought it would be good to continue traveling to the other packs. I want to talk to my parents, but I think it’s time for a new family to take over. Teegan and Damon will be moving to the palace, and it’s been nice traveling around helping others. I don’t want those who feel they’re unwanted to never have closure. What do you think?” He looks at me nervously, but I can’t help smiling.

“I think I love you even more.” Before I can continue, Diamond starts panting. Uh, oh. It looks like we may have an addition for our travels. “Let’s get in the shower. Teegan isn’t the only one in heat. I am, too.”
