The Ultimate Husband

Chapter 5928

Darryl was growing fonder of Avalon by the second.

She had reminded him of Jewel instantly the second he saw her. Both little girls were orphans, and the similarities were only adding up by the second.

The only thing different about them was that Jewel had been gentle and kind, but Avalon was feisty and watchful. If she were to be trained further, she was sure to become someone great. Alright!

Avalon hesitated at Darryl's words, and finally nodded. "Alright, then. I haven't got anything to lose, anything."

Darryl smiled.

Following that, he wrote down the recipe for the Chilly Marrow Pill and passed it to Simone. She stuck to her word, and let Darryl and Avalon go.

"Sigh!"

Once they were outside, Avalon looked Darryl up and down. "I still don't know your name."

Darryl chuckled. "My name's Darryl Darby. You can call me Brother Darryl from now on."

Avalon nodded. "Alright then. You said just now that you'd have someone teach me how to fight, and send me to school. What do you want from me in return?"

Darryl stopped short. "Nothing? All I want is for you to be happy. Why did you ask me that?"

Avalon's gaze flashed. "I've been homeless all my life, and learned something pretty early on: nothing in life comes for free. That lady from before gave me a place to stay and fed me, and in return I had to knock you out..." Darryl's heart ached at the words as he hung his head in silence.

To think that a child this young had gone through so many terrible things in the world.

At the thought, Darryl said with a smile, "You don't have to do anything for me. I'll be like your family from now on."

"Alright," Avalon said, nodding warily.

The pair chatted as they kept walking, heading in the direction of the New World.

Two hours later, Darryl and Avalon arrived at Valencia City of Mistloren. It was getting dark then, and Avalon was quite spent from the journey. Darryl saw this, and decided to rest nearby.

Valencia City was one of the most developed cities in Mistloren.

The roads were filled with cars, the walkways crammed with people.

Darryl and Avalon crossed a few streets, and soon arrived at a popular chain hotel.

The name of the hotel was The Black Tiger. It was lavishly decorated, and below the sign small line of letters that

Darryl could not help but chuckle at the sight.

Of course, this chain hotel had to belong to Felix Blakely.

To think of that, Darryl had not seen Felix in a while.

At the thought, Darryl tugged Avalon along. "We'll stay here." Oh?

Avalon stopped short. "Here? It's not expensive, is it?"

Darryl could not help but chuckle. "It's just for one night, I can afford it." As if he was going to have to pay, staying in Felix's hotel! Darryl had thought it through. He was going to ask to make a call to Felix, and invite him over for a chat for old time's sake.

At the thought, Darryl strolled into the hotel lobby with Avalon in tow. Whoa!

Avalon's jaw dropped open at the sight of the luxurious space. She had seen her fair share of things from wandering the world all her life, but it was definitely her first time in a hotel this lavish. FindNovel

Darryl's expression was nothing but calm. He spotted a couch for guests not far away, and turned to say to Avalon, "Wait over there for me." Avalon called out in response.

Darryl strode to the front desk, asking in a polite tone, "Could I make a phone call?"

The receptionist was a pretty lady dressed in a uniform that highlighted her curves perfectly. She looked up and down at Darryl, speaking in an icy tone. "Sorry, our hotel doesn't allow that to non-customers

Darryl was dressed plainly, and looked like a poor commoner to the receptionist.

Sensing her gaze, Darryl did not pay her much mind and was about to explain further.
