The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 141

Blair POV

The news somehow reached its way around the pack house and as we sat, eating breakfast, Sarah came storming in, her eyes blazing, her face contorted in an expression of disdain and disgust as she glared at both of us, her hands going to her hips as we looked at her startled. It was plain to see that she was not happy with either of us, not that I particularly cared. Braedon was the first to speak, his eyes darkening ever so slightly, a warning that he was not in the mood to put up with her crap "Is there something that you want Sarah?" he asked her slightly coldly. She stared at him indignantly, raising her chin and then looking deliberately at me as I smiled at her. "Is it true?" she demanded heatedly "what I heard just now?"

I raised an eyebrow at her with a placid expression on my face, while Braedon merely continued to eat his bacon, stabbing into it fiercely with a fork and bringing it to his lips, chewing away at it nonchalantly and further infuriating the girl who was ready to lose control of her temper completely. I fought back a grin as she grew even angrier at our lack of interest.

"Is it?" her voice rose even higher, sounding high-pitched and tinged with hatred.

"Is what true?" I asked her, instinctively knowing what she was asking and yet daring her to put it into words.

How was this any of her business?

She glared at me. "Are you pregnant?" she said heatedly "Are you carrying my brother's pup you f*****g slut?" she hissed. My mate slammed his glass down on the table with a large thud, but I was quicker, standing up abruptly and moving, gripping her by the neck and hoisting her high, my eyes flashing between black and my normal color as she clawed helplessly at my hands, Braedon making no move to intervene and help his sister who was looking at him pleadingly. "I detest that word," Dusk said through me, "I love my mate and the word slut is derogatory towards all women. I never want to hear it from your lips again" she snarled, before giving me back control reluctantly.

She much rather would have torn Sarah's head off, even if she was our mate's sister. She had no tolerance towards the girl. Sarah's eyes bulged. "You don't deserve to be Luna Queen" she gulped and I c****d my head, observing her coolly.

"Who are you to say whether I deserve it or not?" I asked her, leaning in close, my eyes narrowing "My wolf is stronger than yours will ever be" I advised her "and I'm willing to fight you if that's what it takes to convince you, but you would lose" I said with a slow smile "I think you're jealous that your brother is happy" I said thoughtfully and saw her face begin to droop as she slid her eyes away from me.

Bingo. I had hit the mark on the head. Her face drained of all color. I slowly lowered her back down as she looked down at the floor. Even Braedon was taken aback.

"It's not fair" she whispered, a lone tear trailing down her cheek "I'm never going to find my mate and he's never going to want me" she sobbed, suddenly looking more like a young girl in need of some compassion.

Braedon's eyes widened. For once, Sarah came across as vulnerable, rather than a spoilt brat. I motioned towards him and he took the hint, walking over to his sister and hugging her gently, letting her head rest on his shoulder.

"Of course, your mate is going to want you," he told her with admonishment "Why wouldn't he?" he asked in bewilderment. She looked at me apologetically, her eyes shining with tears "Because I didn't wait for him" she sniffled and exclaimed loudly, almost wailing "And because I've been with so many different men" she choked out sounding remorseful.

Oh boy. She was emotional but I guess it wasn't easy seeing your brother move on and forge his own family. I hadn't seen Sarah look well, this human before. It was hard to be angry at her when she looked such an emotional mess. I wiped a tear away from her face. "Your mate is going to love you regardless," I told her gently "because the mate bond is so strong that he won't be able to resist you. He'll forgive you for everything that you've done before you met him. You need to stop concerning yourself about that" I said softly and adamantly as she continued to cling to Braedon who looked bemused by the situation.

I gathered that he hadn't hugged his sister in a long long time. It was touching.

"I just want somebody to love me" Sarah admitted in a pained voice, sounding exhausted.

I felt tears prick my eyes. I knew all too well how that felt. Braedon's arms tightened around his sister. "Sarah," I said as she looked at me with watery eyes "The summit is the perfect place for you to be able to find your mate, what with all the Alpha and unmated males that would be attending," I said suddenly and she looked at me with wide eyes and a faint expression of hope on her face.

"Do you really think so?" she asked excitedly, her eyes lighting up.

"Have you attended one before?" I countered back and she shook her head slowly.

"I've always been away from them," she said sheepishly.

"I'm certain you'll find your mate," I said in response and took her hand in mine "Why don't you attend for once? Find yourself a really nice dress to wear to it. At the very least, it will be a nice time with your family" I emphasized "You can even sit with us and I'll even pretend not to see you drinking" I joked, making her laugh out loud, a genuine smile appearing on her face.
