The Rebellious Omega

Chapter 126

Blair POV

Do not let down your guard. It wants you to feel sorry for it. Just remember what he was trying to do to you. He knows his Alpha will kill him if he fails. Either you die, or he dies. It's not a hard decision Blair. A Painful one, but not a difficult one. We plan to survive. He has no chance against us. No one does unless they are an Alpha one.

The wolf raced towards us and I dodged its attack, grabbing it by the neck and flinging it into a tree. As it fell, I stalked towards it, my paws thudding heavily along the ground and then slowly and deliberately placed my leg above its skull as it stared up at me in pain. I trod on it, crushing its skull, wincing at the sound of its bones breaking and then pulled my foot away, the wolve's eyes staring blankly at nothing. Dusk was pleased. Well done. Two got away but as you're relatively new to being a wolf and some of our energy has been drained by the shift, you've done remarkably well. Let's get these girls freed from their cuffs. There must be keys somewhere around here she prompted me.

How do I shift back to human form?

Picture yourself as a human, from your hair color and length to the color of your eyes, all the way to your toes. See it in your mind's eye and your body will shift back. Try it now she urged.

I pictured myself and felt my body begin to shrink and my bones begin to break and adjust. This time it wasn't anywhere near as painful and I felt gratitude for it. It felt awkward being back in my human form again and I stumbled slightly and headed back towards the truck, carefully looking over the clothes that had been shredded, until I found a lone key glistening in the sun. I plucked it up, sensing it wasn't made of silver, and then rushed back to the girls who were peeking out where the doors used to be.

I waved my hand and their eyes widened in disbelief.

"Where are the men?" one breathed and another girl snorted.

"She's an alpha wolf, they're dead you dummy."

"Please, let us free" they begged and I slid in, the girls holding their arms out as they looked at me beseechingly.

I undid the cuffs, one by one, each girl dropping the cuffs and rubbing their wrists which were raw and burnt from the silver. I winced in sympathy. Finally, they were all free. There were about a dozen of us. "What do we do now?"

I glanced at the truck "I don't suppose anybody knows how to drive this thing?"

We could all shift but these girls were half starved and malnourished. I wasn't sure how long they would be able to run for without collapsing. The girls all glanced at each other slowly and then shook their heads in resignation. Damn. I couldn't drive it either. I groaned. Walking was not plausible either. I debated the shifting option when I heard the distinct sound of more cars approaching. I swore. Was it more men coming to take us to the other pack? Had they been alerted by the two men I had let go? f**k.

"They're coming to take us again" one girl screamed, beginning to sob.

I inched to the edge of the truck. Dusk can we shift again?

Unfortunately shifting just that once was enough to take it out of us. If we shift again you'll be stuck in wolf form until we've recovered properly.

I'm willing to take that risk if it ensures everybody's safety here I told her.

Okay, but you'll have to be quick before we collapse. Hurry.

We shifted, the cars coming closer. I snarled, jumping protectively in front of the truck as the cars sidled closer, my nose beginning to sniff. These didn't smell like the men from before, I thought and Dusk began to purr in my mind. Mate has come for us she said gleefully. Braedon is here?

Yes. The girls and you are safe now.

The cars stopped and the front one flung its door open, Braedon stepping out and eyeing me curiously. He c****d his head as I sat on my haunches, my eyes sparkling. He appeared to be disconcerted. Dusk didn't want to wait anymore and sprang to her feet, bounding towards him much like a puppy, wagging her tail as he stood there motionless.

The other men got out of the car and began to shout in warning, but Braedon didn't move and we leaped up, licking his face as he began to chuckle, the warriors stunned. He patted our head and we rubbed our head against his chest, feeling content. He had a bewildered look on his face, even as he smiled down at me. "Blair?" he whispered and we nodded, still nuzzling him.

"But how?" he murmured "I never even sensed you were an Alpha wolf," he said, stroking me as I rubbed myself against him.

I kept our power from everyone. It wasn't safe to reveal ourselves and we were too weak to shift before. When he marked us, he granted us his power as well, allowing me to finally reveal myself and for us to shift. Now nothing will ever hold us back again. Blair, we are powerful and we are strong. It is why you have been so good at sparring, even in human form. I'm sorry it's taken so long for you to meet me.

Don't be sorry Dusk. What's important is that we're finally together. I can't believe that I'm an Alpha wolf. We're an Alpha wolf.

I backed away from Braedon whose eyes were glinting. My body was feeling a little bit heavy now and tired. So tired. I yawned, exposing my sharp teeth, and saw the warriors blanch while Braedon merely blinked. I lay down on the ground, feeling the soft ground beneath my body. I rested my head on my paws. Tired, I was so tired. My eyes began to close. Dusk was amused. I told you that you'd be too tired to shift back.

I ignored her, my eyes closing and then darkness surrounded me and my loud snores began to fill the air, while I felt Braedon's hand on my fur as he stroked me, as he began to issue directions to his men. I slept. The peaceful kind of sleep, knowing my mate would protect me while I slumbered.
