The Palace Beast

The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. The dungeon in the southern kingdom's castle will not contain all the knights sent by the king. Some of them were thrown into the dungeon while some were chained outside the courtyard. John happens to be chained to the courtyard with a few other knights.

One of the knights leaped to his feet with chains on his both ankle. He cast an angry gaze at John and then opens his mouth to speak. "You have the powers to fight them off and you allowed this to happen. The king will consider this an out of betrayal."

"If you know I saved your life and that of your men, you won't be complaining." John snapped back at him. Right from the bridge, he sensed they were stepping into a magic den. The rock he moved was not just an ordinary rock but has some magic spells on it. He has also sensed some power coming out from the castle of the southern kingdom which if he attempted to display his powers, he will never gain access into the castle. He believed that who so ever that is inside the southern kingdom castle will eventually lock him out with magic before he could gain access into the castle.

The werewolf alpha approaches with a woman dressed in a black cloak with a hood. She was bearing a staff which John believes is not just an ordinary staff. He can feel the powers inside the woman.

It's now clear to John where that power was coming from and perhaps the woman might have used her powers to help capture the southern kingdom for the werewolves.

She cast a stern gaze at John and asked, "You are their leader, yes?"

"As it stands now, yes."

"Good, because you will fight with my werewolf, and when he defeats you, you all will be slaughtered but you have the chances of redeeming yourselves by accepting to be turned into werewolves." "And if I win?"

"You all will remain our slaves and be treated harshly."

"What good is it for me to win then?"

"Is better to be a slave than to be dead. Don't you think so?" the woman brought her face close to John revealing her red-looking pale face. She has blue glittering eyes.

"Who are you?"

"You can call me Ashley, the brother of werewolves."

Ashley was a dark witch and the consort of god Apollo but she later found hidden secrets Apollo had after he chose the path of being the moon god instead of the sun god. The secret was hidden in the moon when the first blood moon appeared. She was able to steal the blood moon's power and used it to make herself immortal by turning herself into the first werewolf.

However, Apollo learned of this and forbids her to come close to him even though he still cares for her and her spawns. Ever since she named herself the brother of werewolves and Apollo as the moon god keeps watch over the werewolves and makes them more powerful on the full moon.

With the power of the blood moon in Ashley, Apollo can't come closer to her even if he wants to. The blood moon was believed to be the slaughtered twin brother of Apollo who happens to be the moon god. The blood moon appears once in a year before Ashley stole its powers which were a secret hidden by Apollo.

"So you are a werewolf?"

"Yes and I can turn at will without waiting for the full moon. I believe you know what that means."

"I will fight with the werewolf of your choice but it's for our freedom. If not, count me out."

"And you think you can even beat the least werewolf in my clan?"

"Stake our freedom to it and I will show you what I can do for my freedom."

"Hahaha! That's funny don't you think so?" she glances at the werewolf alpha.

"Very funny, brother."

Ashley bends down and brought her face closer to John and then points at the werewolf alpha. "If you can beat him, you will gain your freedom and that of everyone you came with." She then turned to the werewolf alpha and instructed him to lose John's chains and bring him to the fighting arena.

As John was about to leave, one of the knights grabbed his hand. "Remember who you are and save us from this mess."

"Have faith, brother. Have faith."

...Fighting Arena...

As the werewolves were all seated, the werewolf alpha dragged John into the arena and pushed him to the ground. The werewolves cheered and praised their alpha. Ashley approaches the werewolf alpha and placed her right hand on his chest. A red light shuns out of her palm and entered his body.

"You possess the power of a witch to burn him alive rather than fanging on him."

John was ready for the fight. They still don't know the power he possesses. Ashley has let her werewolf side blind her ability as a witch to detect the ability in another person or being. She can't tell what John possesses but John was able to detect she possesses magical abilities.

The werewolf alpha growled and charged towards John but before he could ram John through, John levitate himself and hit the werewolf alpha with Electrokinesis.

"This is unbelievable!" Ashley exclaimed as the cheering of the werewolves seized. Ashley quickly rose from her seat. "He possesses the power of the Elders." Her eyes widened with disbelief.
