The Million Dollar Man

Chapter 44

A silencer on a gun, well, it's self-explanatory.

It is used to eliminate the sound of the bullet.

Without the sound of the gunshot ringing through your ears, it's almost as if it never happened; however, sound or no sound, a life was just taken. Had he known his life was going to end this way?

Life is unpredictable. No matter what you do, how hard you try, there is no guaranteeing that you will live out your life successfully.

I guess I always knew my life had a sprinkle of morbidity- that by growing up with guns instead of dolls would take a toll on my life.

To be surrounded by this lifestyle, one that I have become accustomed too, I should have been fine that I had killed someone.

People die everyday. Death is not unusual. Sooner or later death snatches you from the world, halting your heart and depriving you of the air that once filled your lungs. There was blood on my hands.

I could scrub and scrub until my skin was raw and my arms ached; yet that would do absolutely nothing to rid me of the stain to my soul.

My soul was tattered and tainted, kind of like an old stuffed animal that a child had grown attached to, so much so that they would have worn it out completely until they let it go.

I wonder how much longer I have until I am worn out.

Our heavy breathing mixed together, and the friction our bodies created was enticing.

It was addicting.

I cried out as he thrusted in particularly deep, biting down on my neck as he did so.

A whimper left my lips as he hovered his mouth above my ear.

<< Who do you belong to ? » His husky voice made my eyes roll back in pleasure, and writhe beneath his muscled body.

<< You, >> I whispered, << I belong to you, Sebastian King. >>

I let out a gasp and sat upright in my bed.

My rapid breathing made me place my hand against my chest in a futile attempt to calm myself down.

<< It was just a dream, »> I chanted quietly, shutting my eyes tightly.

I felt my face heat up immediately as images flooded back into my head. I shot out of the bed and rushed into my bathroom, splashing cool water onto my face. One kiss and I'm already having dreams about him?

It's been over a week, what is wrong with me?

I groaned and shook my head repeatedly. This wasn't good- oh god, this was bad. This was really bad.

If Sebastian knew the effect he had on me... I shook my head viciously, despite the headache that was beginning to form as a result.

<< What happened to you? >> I let out a shriek and turned towards the doorway, only now realizing that Sebastian had snuck in.

With my hair all over, face dripping water, and the crazed look in my eyes, I'm sure that I must have looked absolutely ravishing.

<< N-Nothing. >> I stuttered, my hands clenching and unclenching by my sides.

Sebastian smirked, his eyes widening in interest. I gulped as he took slow, deliberate steps in my direction, his eyes piercing me, watching my quite obvious reaction.

<< Oh Evelyn, dare I say I make you nervous ? » He stopped only inches away from me.

My eyes widened for a fraction of a second before I composed myself. Does he actually? Could it be possible that after that kiss, butterflies had erupted from my stomach and suddenly the girl, who rarely felt anything, was nervous ? << You wish. >>

Seriously?

Of all the things I could have said, I went for 'you wish' ?

Bloody hell.

<< I don't know about that, Miss Summers, » Sebastian taunted, bringing his face to mine.

<< After just one kiss, you're like putty in my hands. >>

I gritted my teeth at his words and pretended as though I wasn't bothered.

<< I've said it once and I'll say it again; you wish. >> My defiance showed through my tone and I returned Sebastian's smirk.

<< Besides,>> I added, «< it will never happen again. >>

Sebastian's reaction wasn't the one I had been hoping for. His smirk deepened and strong hands grasped my waist. My back was pressed into the wall, and his body was pinning mine down.

<< On the contrary, >> he dipped his head as close as possible, << I think it will happen again. >>

One arm wrapped around my waist, arching my back. His free hand cupped my face, tilting me head up to his.

<< And again. >> He whispered.

Grinding his hips down on mine, eliciting a soft moan from my lips.

<< And again. >>

With that, his soft pink lips met mine once again, proving that not only was he right-

Sebastian was in control.

+++++

My eyes zeroed in on the poor soul before me. I looked down at my glass of water, and I shook my head.

Why did people even bother messing with the Kings?

It was like they had a death wish.

Growing impatient, I decided it was time to take this man out of his misery, and get my job over with.
