The Lycan’s King Breeder

Chapter 92

Maximus POV.

As we rode through the forest, I couldn't help but feel grateful for having her in my life. She was my rock, my support system, and my confidante. She never judged me and always offered a listening ear whenever I needed it. I knew that I could count on her no matter what. Opening up to her about my problems wasn't easy, but it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I felt lighter and more hopeful about the future. She gave me the strength and courage to face my fears and tackle my problems head-on.

As we rode, I looked over at her and smiled. She returned the smile and reached out to hold my hand. I felt a rush of warmth spread through me and I knew that with her by my side, everything would be alright.

We rode on, enjoying the peacefulness of the forest and the serenity of each other's company. I knew that I had found someone special and I was grateful for every moment that we shared together. I vowed to cherish her and our relationship always, no matter what challenges came our way.

After riding about three hours, we decided to take a break. As we sat down to rest, Felicity opened up to me about all the challenges she faced after leaving my palace. As she spoke, I could feel anger building up inside me.

"I'm proud I was able to kill all those Alpha outlaws," I said. "But what you've told me about your journey has made me doubt my Head Enforcer, Titus. I think I need to write him a letter and ask for some reinforcements." "Do you think there's something wrong?" Felicity asked me, concern written all over her face.

"I can't be sure," I replied. "But it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to leave anything to chance."

Felicity nodded in agreement. "I understand," she said. "I'll help you write the letter if you'd like."

"Thank you, Felicity," I said, feeling grateful for her support. "I appreciate your help."

As we wrote the letter, I made sure to include all the details Felicity had shared with me, as well as any other concerns I had regarding the safety of my kingdom.

After the letter was complete, I followed it up with a call to Titus, requesting that he come meet me immediately with reinforcements, I sent the letter by my carrier pigeon.

Felicity POV.

"Hey Maximus, look over there," I pointed at a group of men dressed in black. "Those are the men of Melezo."

Maximus' expression turned serious. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I recognize them when I was captive in their cave, I had seen them with these clothes."

Maximus quickly signals for us to hide. "We need to stay out of their sight. They are dangerous men," he warned.

We watched from behind the bushes as the men of Melezo rode by, completely obvious of our presence. After they passed, Maximus whispered, "Let's continue on. But be on guard, something feels off."

"I agree," I nodded, still feeling uneasy. We rode cautiously through the forest, keeping a watchful eye out for any more surprises.

Suddenly, 25 bounty hunters surrounded us, each armed with swords and dressed in intimidating hoods. The group's leader, stepped forward, his face hidden by the hood.

"I am Kael, and I demand the heads of Maximus and Felicity," he commanded, his voice chillingly cold.

Maximus fearlessly stepped forward, gripping his sword with confidence. "You'll have to get through me first," he declared.

Kael chuckled darkly. "So be it," he replied as they both drew their swords and began to clash.

Maximus winced in pain as he tried to transform into his wolf form, but his wound hadn't yet healed. I knew he was in agony as he bravely fought against Kael and his cronies. He called out to me: "Feli, take our baby and hide. Stay safe."

"Surrender and all this will be easier! I just want your heads and that's it! Just that!" He said his voice cold and menacing.

"You'll have to go through me first," maximus replied, his voice firm.

Kael laughed. "Very well. Let's see what the mighty Lycan King is made of."

Maximus and Kael charged towards each other and their swords clashed.

"You're not as tough as people say you are," Kael taunted.

Maximus grunted as he blocked Kael's sword. "I'm tougher than you think," he replied, swinging his sword at Kael.

The other bounty hunters joined the fight, trying to outnumber Maximus and our friends.

Our comrades, including Ava and Kyle, fought valiantly, but some were lost in the midst of battle. My heart ached with each loss, but I knew we couldn't back down. We may have been outnumbered, but our determination to protect each other kept us fighting forward.

Kyle fought off several bounty hunters, her sword slashing through the air. "We won't go down without a fight!" He shouted.

Kael circled around Maximus, his sword poised to strike. "You're weak, Lycan King. You cannot defeat us all."

Maximus gritted his teeth as he dodged Kael's attack." I may not be able to defeat you all, but I'll certainly take down as many as I can. You won't get away with this."

Maximus was losing blood from his shoulder, and Kael took advantage of it, choking him on his injured shoulder.

"You're weak," Kael said mockingly to Maximus.

Maximus struggled to breathe as Kael's grip tightened.

"You're nothing but a mediocre and useless lycan king," Kael continued, raising his sword to stab Maximus.

I couldn't take it anymore. I came out of my hiding place, screaming at Kael to stop.

But Kael didn't listen and was about to kill Maximus when suddenly, out of the air, a person in a mask arrived and cut off Kael's head.

Relieved, I watched as the person who had saved us removed his mask, revealing a girl with red hair and iron eyes. Maximus recognized her.

"How we meet again, my dear," she said coldly, shocking Maximus.

"Celine," Maximus whispered in shock.

I couldn't process what was happening. My mind was in a fog, trying to understand how Celine, the woman who had broken Maximus's heart and caused him so much pain, could be here, saving us from Kael's wrath. Maximus stood up, his eyes never leaving Celine's face. "Why did you save us?" His voice was low, guarded.

Céline smirked and crossed her arms, the picture of self-confidence. "Celine in the flesh, my dear! Surprised to see me?" She paused for a moment, scanning our faces. "I'd say I'm surprised to see you too, but to be honest, I anticipated this meeting." My brain felt like it was in overdrive. What did she mean by that? How did she know we were going to be here? And most importantly, why did she save us?

Maximus approached Céline slowly, his eyes narrowed. "What are you?" he asked. "Some sort of vigilante?"

Céline scoffed. "I prefer the term 'bounty hunter," she said. "I don't have any particular attachment to you, Maximus. But I do have a problem with Kael. He's causing chaos and destruction all over the city, and I can't have that."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Céline, who had always been selfish and ruthless, was now fighting against Kael for the greater good of the city? It was like I was in a parallel universe.

Maximus's face was unreadable. "Why should we trust you?" he asked, his voice cold.

Celine's smirk grew wider. "You shouldn't," she said. " Because like I said, I'm a bounty hunter and your heads are priced which means..."

She trailed off, not needing to finish her sentence. We all knew what she meant by that.

I looked at Maximus, waiting for him to make the next move. He seemed to be weighing his options carefully.
